They just plain DON'T understand.!!!

Hello Friends,

For those of you that live in the snow areas, I hope it will make you feel better to know that it's supposed to rain for a few days and be colder over here. Well cold for us anyway. I grew up in the snow in Michigan and really do appreciate this weather.

I am so grateful that I found out the right healthy path for me. I know everyone is different and what works for me might not work for others.
I do know that for me to get from where I WAS - to where I AM, I had to be extremely strict with myself. It was no walk in the park. It will not be easy for you either.

Know that you are not alone in your weight loss journey. Myself and everyone that reads this every day are all with you to help in any way we can and for support.

The more I eat like this the more I realize how easy it would be to go to my old FAT self again. Other people that eat normal just plain DON'T understand.!!! They don't understand what it takes MENTALLY to be and STAY healthy and not eat that bad SHIT that I used to!!

Example:
Sunday Hubby and I went to the movies so I ate popcorn. Not horrible but still not great. I do try to skip my lunch when I do this to allow for the extra calories you get from the popcorn. But every time I do this I wind up at least 1 lb heavier the next day.
Monday's breakfast;
2 of my healthy bread toast with cottage cheese and nature's hollow on top, turkey bacon and berries.

We were out looking at houses again yesterday and wound up stopping at Five Guys burgers for lunch.
I ate a burger wrapped in lettuce and some fries - about 10 I think. That's 2 days in a row of eating something that maybe I shouldn't have. The popcorn one day and the few fries the next.

Hubby kept whining and begging until I agreed to drive all the way to the South Coast Plaza again last night for him to get something at a certain store. I did not want to go - but he is like a big child begging until he gets his way.

So he tried to bribe me by saying we can stop at a Deli so I can get my Jewish on - with some Matzo ball soup and chopped liver. I told him I don't eat that stuff at night. Only meat and veggies. But I do love that stuff and went.

I wound up eating 1 slice of rye bread and the matzo ball which is carbs that I would never have ate had I just stayed home and ate there. So even though that stuff was not bad for me, it was stuff I don't normally eat and I explained to him how I felt from me hanging out with him and eating the popcorn then the fries and now the bread and matzo ball I thought I would gain weight from going off my NORMAL.

Although the stuff I ate might not be as bad as I made it out to be in my mind, If we just keep giving in allt he time to others and eat what they do when we are around them - we will wind up the way we were before.

That's why I say that I can NEVER eat the way I did before I started eating this way or I will look that way again - and I gave away all my fat clothes. LOL
I can' afford that mentally or in my pocket.

So Stay strong and know you are not alone and You CAN do This!!!

  1. So true! It's so important to realize when you're eating off plan and not let it get out of control. I bet you're right back on plan today. Have a good one, even though it's rainy, lol. It snowed here last night. *sigh*

  2. It is difficult to mentally stay in the game all the time when someone is talking you into the "good" stuff that you used to love. I think you handled it pretty well though and you are always so good at going right back on plan and not giving up!

  3. You are a pro at saying "no"! That's pretty good for before 8:00AM right? I do not know how you can eat liver, but I hear it is healthy:)
Our weather, though cold, has been really moderate this year, so I will take it!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
