Our Saturday visit...

Hello Friends,

It sure was nice on Saturday visiting with our friends that we haven't seen in a while. It was a house warming. They just recently got a beautiful new house and boy was it huge, over 4000 sq ft I think and more rooms than I would know what to do with. They have 2 small children so its great for them. We got there around 3pm and I made sure to eat before we went.

Breakfast;
 2 eggs scrambled w/baby spinach and cheese in some coconut oil, cottage cheese and turkey bacon.
Lunch; tuna, 1/2 cucumber, goat cheese, bacon bits and mayo.

When we got there I noticed all the drinks and food was not BFC friendly. Everyone was eating and drinking. I was a bit nervous to get a plate because my ET's were acting up lately a lot. I waited a while and got a tour of the house, then after about 45 minutes I took a deep breath and just did it.

I had a few bites of this dip stuff made with black beans avocado and I have no idea whet else - not sweet.
a few bites of this other dip that looked creamy and cheesy w/crab (I think), but it had corn so only like 2 bites.
3 tortilla chips - 2 small bites of some french bread (I think)
some spinach dip
1 meatball (was in a sweet sauce)
and about 2 bites of some chicken - but it was dripping in a sauce that I tried to get off - way too sweet.

I saw someone outside with a vitamin water zero - BINGO! I can have that- so I asked around and found them. As you can imagine I did not eat that much at all and was hungry when I got home around 6:30.

I took the girls for a 2 mile walk then when I got back made myself a smoothie. I also started a batch of Chocolate-almond-protein bites. I made the bottom part and finished the chocolate topping in the morning. Love those!

My breakfast this morning;
a almond-flax muffin (LOVE it this way a zillion times better) w/butter and natures hollow - 1 with strawberry and 1 with peach, and turkey bacon.

We had to go to check on my step-daughter's apartment this morning, you know the one who is dancing for Lady-Ga-Ga and we are baby sitting her little dog. We are waiting now to go to the movies. Ted or Madea. So you know that means no lunch for me - maybe some turkey pepperoni and cheese in a baggy like usual so I can have popcorn - my 1 guilty pleasure.

You know I was rebelling coconut oil in the beginning and now I find myself using all the time. I also hated shredded processed coconut of any kind before (only like fresh) but now I have developed a taste for it and its not as bad as I remember before.

Now that we are going without all that excess sugar, give stuff a chance - you might surprise yourself like I have.

  1. Dang, I need to crack open my coconut oil! I haven't tried the muffins with almond flour and flax yet either. Too full from eating BAD things:( Which movie did you see?

  2. I haven't tried the muffin that way either. I will have to give it a try. Love coconut oil though. So glad you had a good time with your friends. It's hard to maneuver around those food tables that people set up. Love vitamin water zero.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
