The Cabbage Lasagna was a big hit...

Hello my Friends,

Well I loved the cabbage lasagna I made last night so much I had some for breakfast this morning with a Carb Chopper wheat tortilla w/cheese.
I couldn't resist this picture;
Peaches
My dogs are usually not allowed on the furniture. Sometimes I let her jump on the bed and when hubby came home this morning from working the night shift at the FD they both were asleep when I got out of the shower.

I am still holding at the same weight, 148. It does fluctuate 2 lbs up and down. I have come to realize that's normal for us women. You know - hormones, that time of the month and just cause we are female. LOL

You know every time I see those before and after pictures of me, I can't believe that's the same person. Boy did I love to eat! I still do - just now I know that the more you shove in your mouth - it does not make you feel any better.

I was very strict and dedicated on my eating during the time I was losing. I never cheated and never ate past 7-7:30pm every night. I never ate carbs with dinner and still don't except for the occasional coconut bread  or almond flour stuff now. It did take me 1 year to lose 80lbs. I did it slowly and I think it really helped my skin to shrink back too.

I only cheated once in a great while with 1-2 bites of 1 thing that I loved when I was out or at a party or function. I know Jorge says to drink 2 glasses of red wine a night, but that is not gonna help you lose weight. You need to save that for those once a week things and then only have 1 glass. Never any sweet wines like I used to.

Once you reach your goal like I have now, remember to NEVER go back to the way we ate before. That's all we have to remember. It's that simple. This way of eating has worked so well for me I will never eat any other way again.

My lunch today:
Tuna, mayo, 1/2 avocado cut up, feta cheese, 1 celery stalk cut up, some jalapeno stuffed olives cut up and baby spinach and a handful of croutons. It was very good. After, I had the last 2 gingerbread-almond flour cookies that were left.

After 2:00 hubby and I went to run some errands, post office, then bank, then we went to a few places to look for a new lawn mower. We used to have an old one but sold it at the last yard sale. So now we fired the gardener. He missed 2 weeks in a row and we keep having problems with them cause they are all scared of my 2 dogs.

COME ON!! Do these look vicious to you???
So now I have to trim, pull cut, blah, blah, blah. Hubby thinks he has the easy part of mowing and edging - OK whatever!!

We wound up getting a electric one at Home Depot. While we were out I got the munchies and ate 2 squares of 86% chocolate I had in my purse. Good thing I always keep it there. By keeping the baggie of nuts and dark 86% chocolate in my purse - it really keeps me from cheating or even thinking about cheating. So do it girls, it will save you. I promise.

So guess what my dinner was?
A spinach salad w/feta cheese and bacon bits and some more cabbage lasagna.
Hubby finally tasted it and I am quoting him right now... He said it is OFF THE HOOK!!! He loved and had 2 pieces and said he would of had 3 but didn't want to look like a pig. ha-ha. He said the guys at the FD would even love it. So I guess that's saying something, if they will eat it.

So - that's it for now. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any kind of help. That's what I am here for.

Dawn M, you are kicking Ass, are you at least taking names??? You go girl!!

Don't forget This is a great time to try Reslina that I am always talking about. There is a coupon code posted above left for buy 1 get 1 bottle free...

My thought for the day:

A Giving Person

A pessimist, they say, sees a glass of water as being half-empty; an optimist sees the same glass as half-full. But a giving person sees a glass of water and starts looking for someone who might be thirsty.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. You are so creative with your foods. Even the tuna! Hey, I wonder what you think about this. I have been telling my sister to get used to the BFC before adding in the almond flour and coconut flour goodies. What do you think? I know they don't count as carbs, but they are additional calories?
I am excited to use my new square pan for something fun.

    1. Kay, I think its great to let her eat the coconut and almond flour stuff. Just make sure that they replace a grain carb and not add to them.
Eat the coconut bread in place of wheat bread or a tortilla or brown rice. See?
Now we are square muffin twins too :-)

  3. Happy Weekend to you-
...our dogs sleep on the bed: one weighs 4lbs the other is under 20 lbs. Spoiled-that's what they are!
    As always, thanks for sharing.

  4. Looking for a lawn mower in January seems so funny to me, because here in Maryland it's 38' degrees outside and our grass has been dead since November! Your dogs are two cuties and I can't believe anyone would be afraid of them. Good advice as usual about the BFC!

  5. I have the ingredients to make the lasagna, so I think I'm going to make it tonight. The only difference will be that I'm going to use cottage cheese in place of the ricotta because that's what I have in my fridge. I'll let you know how it turns out.

    1. Hey Minichick! I have been trying to post a comment on your site re: the yogurt & it keeps bleeping me off again! arrgh! You are a real trooper to do that! I will keep Oikos in business. lol.

    2. Hmmm, I'm sorry you're having so much trouble posting comments.

Making yogurt is easier than making dinner. I eat yogurt every day, and it's about 3X's cheaper than buying it. With how much I eat, it's definitely worth making it myself. Maybe you can give it a try once so that you can see for yourself how easy it is.

  6. You are SOOO right about the wine!!! I am doing the BFC right now BECAUSE of all the wine I had been having at night! On his new website, Jorge has what he calls Evening carbs, so if you have a 0/0 breakfast you can choose 3 Evening carbs to have and each of them together add up to 5/2. Each week one of the evening carb cards is 2 glasses of wine, which means you can have 6 glasses of wine as your evening carb, EVERY night!!! I think he needs to change that because no one is going to lose weight drinking 6 glasses of wine every night. I left my 2 cents about it, but it's not on there anymore. Oh well!

    1. Kristie, I have been saying that since the beginning that he is wrong about the wine thing. And look at me - 90lbs less. Don't get me wrong, I love wine but in moderation.
I also don't agree with the evening carb thing, not for people who have a lot of weight to lose.
Share what you know is right girl.. :-)

  10. hmmm, that sounds interesting Rosie. I may have to try to make that lasagna. Tell me, where do you find your seeds of change pasta sauce? Its hard to find up here. Do you order it online? I really like the shiritaki noodles. They are stinky but when you boil em long enough & rinse well they are just fine. Think I may make some shrimp scampi with them this week! YUM-O!

    1. HI Sherri, I get my seeds of change at Sprouts market, used to be Henry's.
I'm glad you like the shirataki noodles. I usually just put them in a little strainer in the sink and run real hot water over them - no need to boil if you don't want to.
      Shrimp scampi sounds great. :-)

  11. Okay, I made the lasagna and it had mixed reactions from my family. They liked the flavor, but not the cabbage. They think it would taste great with regular noodles. So much for a low carb/ grain free lasagna option. I don't know if I'll ever find a noodle free version that my family is okay with. Oh well, I tried.

  12. Hey Rosalie! As always you have great ideas & BFC wisdom. Thanks for the "shout out". I had a minor setback (went to a birthday party). Not sure I need to be eating out just yet. It's too overwhelming & tempting. But I decided that I would continue on tomorrow & not think of it as starting over.

  14. Hi Rosalie,
I'm with you about the wine. Small amounts occasionally, but it has been proven that alcohol slows the metabolism. For me, I need all the metabolism I can get!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
