Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate...

Hello Friends,

You know before I did the Belly Fat Cure I always had a bad sweet tooth. Even more than I loved carbs or junk food. It's so funny that part of me NEVER went away.

I can't even remember if I went through withdrawals or had headaches in the beginning like many others do. All I remember is how it took all the strength and willpower I had in me to not eat the way I used to. I was SO HUNGRY!!

Where are those people who were as big as I was, ate as much as I did, and they said that "they were never hungry on the BFC"?? I had to sit and rock and hold my stomach cause I was so HUNGRY at night.

Well somehow I convinced myself that - that food was BAD - I was BAD for letting myself get that big in the first place - You are not allowed - you are not allowed, I just kept saying to myself!!

For me - it took me 2 months to break that part. But I did it!! I felt like I was torturing myself. That is why I keep telling you that it's all in YOUR HEAD... It really is!! You have to do some kind of VOO-DOO mind trick to get past the hard part.

I watch a lot of scary movies so I guess it helped me. LOL

But CHOCOLATE is and will always be my friend... I love me some chocolate... I am so happy that I have found so many ways to still eat my chocolate on the Belly Fat Cure.

Here are 3 of my favorites:
chocolate-almond-protein-bites
Chocolate-fudge-treats
And my newest creation:  Grain-Free-Brownies
The brownies I made today. There is so many recipes for brownies using black beans instead of any kind of flour. I decided to  make my own the BFC friendly way. I just ate one and had to stop myself from going and eating another one. They came out so moist and delicious. 2 Yums up...

Breakfast today; turkey bacon, berries and my favorite muffin of them all; I use under 1/4 c of almond flour, 1 tb ground flaxseed, 1 tb coconut flour, 1 tb chia seeds, 1/2 t bkg pwdr, 1 tb coconut oil, 1 egg, and a little Natures Hollow S.F. maple syrup.
Mix well and cook in a small pyrex bowl or large mug for 2 min.

Serve w/butter and Natures Hollow S.F. Preserves.
Lunch was 1/2 cucumber cut up, 1/2 pc left over chicken cut up, goat cheese, bacon bits, 3 green jalapeno olives cut up, croutons and cesar dressing.  and 1 brownie muffin after.

Who knows what dinner will hold for me? IDK probably chicken or something.

I know there is a lot of people who read this blog every day because I see the number of hits. But you don't comment. I know why... Maybe because you are not doing that good diet wise at the moment??

If you are here reading - then you want to lose weight. RIGHT?? If you need help or are having a hard time - leave comments and we all can chip in and help each other. Don't be shy - we are all friends here and have nothing but friendship and love.................

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

There's Always Room For Chocolate

Keep on BFC ' n   :-)

  1. My 7 year old son told me the other day that he only has one sweet tooth and some people have more than one. Then he points to a tooth and says, "See Mom, this one right here, that's my sweet tooth." ha ha.

I went cold turkey off sugar and caffeine at the same time and was miserably sick for about 2 weeks, that's how addicted I was. Now, I strictly drink water and might drink a half a Sobe a week, but they are really sweet.

    1. Lisa, I have the Sobe for a treat once in awhile and I actually just add a bit to water and it's perfect. It flavors the water but it's not sickeningly sweet :)

  2. I have to tell you Rosalie, I was not hungry. I had done a ton of reading before hand though and I knew that fat would keep me fuelled (early on I knew this). I was sure to use full fat coconut milk and my protein bites etc. I believe that's what kept me from feeling the hunger. See, when you eat carbs you are a sugar burner (your body burns sugar/carbs for fuel). That is a short cycle (so every 90 minutes you get hungry). When you burn fat for fuel that doesn't happen. Your blood sugar stays low and steady so you don't get hungry. Now, it doesn’t happen immediately (the switch from sugar to fat) – you have to become “fat adapted” (but for some reason I wasn’t starving). You can Google sugar burner vs. fat burner and get tons of reading. I'm totally trying those brownies - you ARE my cyber sister (I LOVE chocolate too)! Thank goodness, if it's not full of sugar, it's awesomely good for us ... woot woot.

I must be fat addapted because I can totally miss lunch and not feel a thing (no hunger, no headache, nothing ...). I LOVE it :)

    2. Trina, same here! When i don't eat grains and wheat i can skip dinner, in fact i think I'm gonna do that tonight and just have my dessert... Lol
It's awesome being wheat/grain free! Today i had lunch 6 hours after breakfast, before when i was eating grains i would be hungry right after 3/5 -4 hours!

  3. I really want to make those protein bars! I just don't want to spend more money on almond flour :(

  4. I didn't feel extremely hungry when I started the bfc, it was nothing compared to the hunger I felt on weight watchers in the past. I am still breastfeeding my son so when I started and even now if I am hungry I eat, for his sake. The weight is coming off 35 lbs in 14 weeks! Still have quite a bit to go, but I am determined

    1. Also love the protein bars (too much my weight loss slows on weeks they're in the house) and the fudge treats too. I hillbilly the fudge treats and just mix coconut oil, unsweetened cocoa powder and stevia in a mug then dump Greek yogurt on top. When mixed together the yogurt chills the chocolate mixture so u get fudge ripples in your yogurt! Yum and EASY!

  10. I went to three stores today and shopped to get serious. No wheat but only because
I could not find any thing that fits. I got jay robb protein powder....i have never
Had better luck finding everything. I was wishing for a Rosalie app !!!! I want to tell her everything i did right.

Now i have two books infront of me and his carb counter book also. I am ready to commit. I still am so confused with all the many BFC versions, but you are proof
I would love to know how to use the protein powder....i am a bad meal skipper. Also got some think thin bars.....not sure about those.
so anything you can tell me chime in !!!

  11. Thanks for your post on face book.
I made Brian and myself your 2 minute muffins tonight with the maple syrup (Natures Hollow). We ate them with cream cheese and (Natures Hollow) wild berry jam. UMMMM they are so good. I ordered the MRM protein powder you said you use. Chocolate and a vanilla. Jay Robb is too expensive. I couldn't find any in the stores that didn't have the bad stuff in it. Question??? Do you have a problem with flaxseed meal causing your stomach to bloat? Ever since I ate the muffin this is happening.
Thanks for all your help to all of us. I read your blogs every day that you post

    1. Just put 1 tb of flaxseed next time and see if it does the same thing. I usually don't have a problem - or I'm just not paying attention :-)

  12. I tried your new favorite breakfast muffin that you posted today and I have to agree it is wonderful! I've been floating out here in cyber land and check in often to see how you and everyone else is doing. All of you give such great support and that is so desired with this lifestyle journey we are on. I am still struggling staying on the bandwagon but many times reflect back on things you and everyone else says. I just have to get it all right in my head like you say. Just know that even though I usually don't chime in I look forward to what's up with Rosalie ... more important what she ate today:) Really have been resisting making those protein bars because they sound like they would be hard to resist. Much appreciation Kim

  13. Hi Rosalie,

(Just got back to catching up on the blogs)...

I LOVE my chocolate too - always have - and I'm sure I always will. Finding these low-sugar versions have made a HUGE difference in my NOT having any binging issues with sweets these last few months.

When I first made the protien bars, I found myself having 3-4 at a time, but now that has settled down and I might have 1 a day or every other day.

Love all the support and ideas that we all give one another.... BFC bloggers and readers are the BEST! Have a great day Rosalie :)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
