Here's what's been up :-)

HI Friends,

I hope all is well. I don't hear much from anyone anymore. I guess everyone is not doing the BFC and doing other stuff now. Oh well. I thought I would pop in and tell you what I've been eating lately.

Breakfast Tuesday protein-pancakes turkey bacon and a couple strawberries.
Lunch Tuesday the last 2 mexican-tortillas from the freezer with spinach, chicken and pepperjack cheese.
Dinner Tuesday Hubby and I went to this place called Sycamore Inn. It is a huge very old place near us that we have passed by many times but never went.

We started with a glass of wine, Pino Grigio - a white wine that is not sweet which I usually never do. Usually red for me. We had a  appetizer of stuffed mushrooms, another glass of wine, dinner was Mahi-mahi for me with veggies and garlic mashed potatoes which I only had a couple bites of - but OH what bites they were. I even had 2 tiny sour dough rolls with butter.

We had such a nice dinner. The place was wonderful, but it did set us back $80 - that was with the tip, so not too bad I guess. Definitely going back - who wants to come with?

Breakfast Wednesday One of my muffins I always make with some blueberries and cinnamon in this one and natures hollow preserves on top.
Lunch Wednesday I made a pizza and grilled some mushrooms, onions, and green peppers to put on top and some turkey sausage crumbles - it was good.
I tried to keep myself busy yesterday. Moved stuff around, ironed a bunch of Hubby's clothes and made some homemade almond butter on the left and coconut butter with cinnamon on the right.

Dinner Wednesday was a spinach salad and wings.

Breakfast today Thursday some healthy-waffles I had made and put in the freezer with some of those nut butters I made the day before.
Lunch Thursday the other half of the pizza.
I made these awesome brownies. They were so good I had to try one.
Dinner Thursday - well I finally decided to try Spaghetti squash. I put a little butter and salt on it with some broccoli and tiny bit of chicken. It was good - I think I will have some more with my breakfast in the morning.
Well I guess those brownies are not gonna eat themselves.... Desert with some tea.

I have been walking every day with my furry girls. I really can't get Mandy to go more than a mile now. She lags real bad with her head down - but really wants to go - so we go slow for her.

The weather has been so GREAT between 70-80 and sunny and clear. Love it here...

Have a good one everyone.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Rosalie! Your date night sounds like it was wonderful! I love finding places like that that you can't wait to go back! I love spaghetti squash! It's not really that hard to cook either! I have not yet made any waffles...something I do want to try! Once upon a time we had waffles fairly often. Lol!

  4. I don't think that was bad for your dinner bill at all? When I went with the gals the other day to a trendy restaurant, one gals bill for 2 glasses of wine and her dinner was 68.00!!! Holy smokes! For just her!!!
    Your food all looks good:)
I'm always so glad to see you post! I am so thankful that there were so many of us blogging shortly after I started. It was so much easier to do with the help and encouragement in the blogs. I miss them:)

    1. OK I forgot to say that they have a Happy hour until 8pm, if you sit in the bar area - appetizers and reg drinks were half price - of a HIGH price. LOL

  5. That dinner sounds great. Isn't it fun to drink wine with meals? LOL! We do go out to eat a lot and that's probably my problem. We have a lot of restaurants that are BYOB's so we bring our own wine. I am sill focused on low carb and very little sugar. I guess I'm doing a combo of BFC, the 100 and Wheat Belly. I never was very good at tracking and I'm just trying to eat very simply. Eggs or minute muffin for breakfast, salad with chicken for lunch, ad grilled something with salad for dinner. I also made some of those fat bomb type things and trying to have one or two a day, or maybe a piece of cheese for a snack. Really trying to cut down on the healthy baked goods. You know I won't give up my wine, so if I want my two glasses of red each night, then I figure I can't have much else. Choices right? I would have never had just a few bites of those mashed potatoes, so when I go out I am substituting any carbs for veggies. Staying off of wheat is helping me with control. You don't realize but you really have good self control with all that stuff. You never over do it, but I do, so it's better just to avoid all together for me. At least for now. I just don't feel like I have anything worth saying on my blog these days. Maybe when I feel more successful. I need to get closer to my goal. Stil working on it. Not giving up!! XO!!

    1. It sounds like you are doing great - but don't forget to indulge in some healthy carb at least every other day. It will keep you sane and on track.

    2. Good advice It's weird but when I eat high fat ( I've been making those fat bombs) and less carbs I tend to feel less hungry and that makes me stay on plan. I print out all the good treats you are making and when I feel I can safely introduce them I will. I think I was just eating too many. Those pumpkin scones were killer!! Trying to cut back on the nuts a bit too. I wasn't watching portions and even though they are good for you, too many won't help the weight come of!! XO!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
