Believe in Yourself - Take CONTROL and know that you CAN do it!!

Hello Friends,

Today is supposed to be a beautiful 90 degree day - nice weather. How is the weather where you are today?

Sometimes I think of how I used to be before I changed my life completely over 3 1/2 years ago. I really did think that all that food I ate mattered. That it would change the way I felt somehow. But now I know it does NOT!

How many of you are or were like this??
I used to make one of those cans of biscuits and they usually have 8 in them.I would make fried potatoes with onions, eggs bacon and biscuits. Hubby and I would each eat 4 of them with butter (well margarine) and high sugar jelly - well cause you don't want to waste them - right?

I LOVED pizza probably a lot more than him. I could eat 4 pieces EASILY. and of course diet soda.

I would make macaroni and cheese and eat half the box or MORE!

I would make one of those flavored-rice envelopes and add tuna and eat the whole thing in a bowl!

I would not think twice about eating a extra large burger meal with a  large fries and DIET soda of course, then stop to get a medium sized blizzard on the way home!
That was the OLD ME!! This could be the OLD YOU too!!

I have learned how (and I have no clue why), but I have learned how to not let my emotions give me an excuse to eat anything in site to make me feel better.

*****It WON'T*****

This morning I woke up - (well I actually did not sleep that well anyways) feeling tired, upset and a little sorry for myself. I have had certain people say - and probably thinking they are trying to help in some kind of F**KED up way - say that so and so says this about you, and these guys are always talking about you... blah-blah-blah.

I am probably more emotional right now from going thru menopause and I DO realize that - so that helps. But before I would have ate that large sized Chili-Cheese-Fries with catsup on top that I LOVED - then a ton of ice cream after - probably moca-almond-fudge or OOH butter pecan.

But now I know if you talk about it and get it out and know in your heart that its OK to feel bad at times, you don't have to eat it OUT!! So to speak.

So like I have said MANY times before - It's all in YOUR HEAD!! That's IT!
Believe in Yourself - Take CONTROL and know that you CAN do it!!

That's all for now. I hope this helps and touches someone - somehow today.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. It is pretty here, but only in the low 70's and it is only August and it feels like fall !!

Oh, I was like that too Rosalie ! I was in a constant feeding frenzy & didn't even know it...until I found the BFC and YOU !!! I have control of it all !!

The last 3 times my hubby has ordered pizza I haven't eaten any. I just make my own now. It taste better anyway ;)

Question for you...does your husband eat like you ? I know he is very supportive but I didn't know what his thoughts are on the BFC ?

Hope you feel a little better & maybe try for a nap later if you can.

    1. He thinks he tries to eat healthy but does not eat much of the baked stuff I make - I usually have to eat it all myself little by little.
He eats regular peanut butter and jelly - likes the bread I buy - will eat veggies and likes to juice which I don't do cause of all the sugar.
So answer is - Kind of...

  2. The weather here is gorgeous. Low humidity, 80 degrees, sunny, breezy. I decided to stay at the beach for the week. I need a week to myself. Everyone left this morning, and you know how my weekends are with all these hungry men around. I ate things, like a white italian roll, that I have not had in sooooo long. I made blueberry muffins for the guys, and I ate one. Did you hear me? I ate one!!! Haven't done that in soooo long. What the *@#$ us wrong with me. How long before this clicks? I think I am going to go back to your blog and start reading it from day 1. I'm not giving up, just don't understand where my head is sometimes. Sending love and hugs, we both need one today right?Lol! XO

  6. The weather here in North Carolina is in the mid 80's which is unusual for August. It's typically in the mid to upper 90's and very humid, but not today. Yay!
I don't get some people and their hurtful remarks it's just wrong! I'm with Ginger, you do rock! So grateful for you and your blog!
My husband and I eat pretty much alike, although he does love his beer...which I don't begrudge him. He works his butt off every day! He looks great too! He's lost about 35lbs. to my little 30lbs. and I've got alot more to go, and I've been doing this for 1 year now. This us a way of life for us though, we'll never go back.
Thanks again Rosalie! I hope you sleep well tonight!

  7. It was a beautiful day here in WA state! We can do this, with a little help from our friend Rosalie:) I am still doing really well, but have been a little yucky feeling the last 2 days. I think it is the sugar detox, it's been 2 weeks today that I have been back on track. I don't remember when I felt so bad last time, but it seems like about day 10. Thanks for being here for all of us:)

  8. Rosie,
Hi! My name is Kim. I am fairly new to BFC. I tried
It last March and lost 30 pounds fairly quickly too! (I am close to 400 lbs. :'( ) But I wasn't eating very creatively and so I had a major bingeing outbreak and stopped BFC and gained 40 lbs...ugh....Now I am trying it again. I have Metabolic Syndrome (PCOS) so I feel this program is ideal for that. I am absolutely LOVING this way of eating. I don't even want to call it a DIET because I don't feel restricted. My weight is NOT coming off very quickly which is a bit disappointing but I FEEL great and am sleeping better. I know this is a long post, sorry, but I wanted to express to you what an INSPIRATION already you have been to me. I watched one of your youtube videos and learned SO much. I am not sure why more people don't do this "diet" honestly. I know there may be issues with the fruit thing but I was doing Weight Watchers' new program which allowed ALL THE FRUIT YOU wanted.Something about that didn't seem right to me, not even considering the sugar at the time. Well, I just wanted to thank you for all of the support and encouragement you have offered. Blessings to you in your continued journey. I cannot wait to learn more from you day by day.

  9. I really needed this today--Thank you! This is week 2 for me. I lost 4lbs in week 1 and was so excited but this week NOTHING. The scale literally hasn't moved! I'm a little bit south of you and am dying and miserable in this humidity and stuck in the house a lot and getting discouraged. I love to bake (I don't eat everything I bake but like to at least try it) so I was contemplating just making a bunch of brownies and temporary drowning my sorrows but now I'm going to instead remain hopeful that tomorrow will show a difference.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
