Grouchy-tension and No-Yoke-Healthy-Deviled eggs

Hi Friends,

How is everyone doing today?? I was a bit frustrated today still gathering up stuff for the loan. Stuff from a LONG-ASS time ago that we had to find. It did cause some grouchy-tension between Hubby and I arguing over stupid stuff. I am so glad this CRAP is almost over, one way or the other. We get it or move on.

I know some or a lot of that tension might be from my hormones. That and the lack of sleep. Last night I watched the second to last episode of Dowton Abbey and didn't realize it was 2 hours long and went to sleep after midnight which is late for me and really not like me. I am a creature of habit - well that and I am OLD and So of course I couldn't sleep cause I threw myself off my pattern. Well its not like I sleep well anyway. Only one more episode to go.

The weather is good. Me and the furry girls get our walk in every day. You just gotta love livin in Southern California.

My breakfast yesterday was turkey bacon, berries and some pancakes.
I used 2 eggs, a bit of unsweetened almond milk, baking powder, about 15 drops of vanilla cream stevia, 1 tbsp (not measured-just a metal spoon) of ea. coconut flour, almond flour, flaxseed, and Psyllium husks-
That's the thing I never used in pancakes before. The recipe I saw said the psyllium makes it more fluffy. They were thicker and I had to cook them longer and on a lower heat. My recipe made 4 so I had 2.
For lunch I made pizza. I used the last little bit of cauliflower and some shredded zucchini, a bit of shredded mushrooms and onion and cut up jalapenos (of course), cheese, 1 egg, and spices. It made 2 so I ate one and had the other one for today. I put hummus and some tomato slices and a bit more cheese.
Dinner last night was a spinach salad and wings. And 2 protein bites and rediwhip for desert.

Breakfast this morning was the other 2 pancakes. This time with syrup.
Lunch was the other pizza with hummus, tomato, cheese and turkey pepperonis.
Hubby found these recipes for No-Yoke-Healthy-Deviled eggs using other stuff as fillings instead of the yokes so I boiled a bunch of eggs the other day and peeled them for him.
Of course I had to keep telling him what to do - but he took the credit. We made some guacamole out of what we had; 1 avocado, a little bit of onion, jalapenos and tomato cut up, lemon juice, sea salt, and a spoon of mayo and bacon bits - then topped with some grated parmesan cheese. YUM - I ate 3.
For dinner I ate some broccoli, brussel sprouts, chicken and alfredo sauce.
Desert was 2 protein bites and rediwhip again. I am addicted to sweets, seriously - and that's why I really need to make sure I have some healthy ones made on hand. I swear, I try to not eat them after dinner - but can't resist. I will try harder tomorrow.

Well - you all have a good one and thanks for listening to me today.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. I like the new look of your blog, it's fun to change things up. The last time I made protein bites hubby told me they were like crack (very addictive).

    1. Yup they are like crack - thats why I keep them in the freezer in a container cut up and have only 2 at a time. Out of site - ya know...

  2. I like the look of the blog too Rosalie! Still keeping fingers crossed that the house works out! Glad you are having great weather still. Rain, rain and more rain here. They even had to cancel a couple of schools because of flooded roads. Plus side - the grass is really green!

You've probably mentioned this somewhere but do you stick with a particular brand of turkey bacon and also, do you just microwave it?

    1. I microwave it between paper towels on a plate. I use either oscar meyer (which I think tastes a bit better) or jenny o.

  4. Those deviled eggs look and sound yummy... I'll have to try those. I agree with you, I love to have a little something sweet everyday. I haven't made protein bites in a while but think it's about time to do so :) Hopefully the stress of gathering the items for the house will be over soon - hang in there (and get some good sleep tonight) :)

  5. I am very happy you blog and you are the BFC girl Rosalie, because Jorge is gone on to some new plan, where you eat only 25g carbs a day now, Atkins, which I like but it's not for long term. I like BFC because it's liveable and easier than Atkins. He comes out with Aging cure (basically BFC) now Sugar Calories. I will be looking to you as the BFC guru now, he's lost me!! Thanks for blogging. I read everyday, even tho I don't comment everyday :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
