Doable for ME...

Good Morning Friends,

I want you all to know that I am in no way perfect - AT ALL!! I see many of you struggling to be healthy and trying to find the right fit for your way of eating and weight loss. I know that we all can't be the same, but I feel the Original  BFC is the absolute most doable way for me to eat LONG TERM.

What ever program you are doing, What ever you are eating, just make sure first of all that you eating HEALTHY - and second of all that it is the way you can eat for the rest of your life...

Because whichever way you are eating to get you to lose the weight - is great - right?? But if you are doing something with out grains or carbs - then starting adding them back in - that might cause you to gain some weight back.

FOR ME, I eat the way I will eat forever...Its as easy as that for me. I still and always will have a MAD CRAZY Sweet tooth. I'm pretty sure that is why I was so big before and the fact that I ate junk food like it was coming out of my ears.
SO the fact that I have found a way to have a sweet every day and have it be a healthy one is awesome for me and that is why I share with all of you whatever I learn. Just in case you ARE like me.

You have to take control of your mind first - in order to take control of your body. I have said it many times that it is all in your head and its very true.

I will NEVER eat the way I did before or I will look the way I did before. That is all I have to remember in my head every day.

Yesterday for breakfast I had the Oatmeal-protein pancakes again with berries and turkey bacon. I used 1/4  cup of rolled oats, let soak for a few min in 1/4 of USAM, 1 scoop of strawberry protein powder and 2 eggs. Was very good.
Hubby and I went out looking at a couple houses again and then stopped at In-N-Out for lunch. I had a dbl with cheese, pickles, grilled onion and a tomato wrapped in lettuce and a few of his fries and water of course.
When I got back me and the 2 furry girls went for a 2 mile walk. Such a gorgeous day in Southern Cali around 73.

OK - pretend to see finger Air Quotes here: I am not a Worky-Outy kind of person and never have been, but I do love to walk fast every day. Living in Southern California I am very luck to be able to do this almost every day.

My weight usually bounces between 145-150 which I very happy at this size. I never want to get smaller than 145 at my age of 54 and height of 5'7". I realize that I will never wear a bikini. I have a little bit of loose skin below my belly button on my lower tummy - kind of looks like a balloon that let the air out. Not real bad - just not bikini worthy and I am OK with that. Ladies the loose skin will NEVER go away when you are as big as I was for as long as I was - just the fat. I just want you to know what to expect.

Hubby is working nights for many days so after he left for dinner I had a spinach salad and a bowl of the left over turkey chili. For desert I was kind of bad and had a chocolate-cheesecake muffin, 1 protein bite and a little rediwhip.

I have found I always do best with carbs with my breakfast and lunch and not dinner. Breakfast this morning was 2 Oasis toast with butter and my homemade Peanut butter which was so GOOOOD BTW, berries and a egg white omelete with baby spinach and turkey sausage crumbles and goat cheese.
Well thanks for listening to me and big hugs for you all...

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  2. I am like you Rosalie. I know I can't give up certain foods forever, like wheat or sweets. But I do know I can eat the right kind of wheat and low sugar sweets. I also agree it's a mind thing. Unfortunately mine isn't always in the right place. I often feel like I can't do this and I'll never reach my goal. The mind isn't the kind of thing you can easily change, but I'm working on it. I still keep waiting for that moment where it all clicks and becomes easier for me. Wish I could speed that up and make it happen. I hope you never stop blogging, because I for one really look forward to what you have to say. It keeps me on track. Thanks for your kind words on my post today. One year that Beth has been gone just doesn't seem possible. Yet as my mom says, we all got through it. I am going to private message you a poem I found and posted on her blog. It helps me and you might find some comfort in it too. Hugs to you my friend! XO

  6. Rosalie,
I am wondering if your current eating plan is maintenance or if you followed a similar food rotation when you were loosing? It appears that many in the blogging and dieting world are going extremely low carb, which I am playing with but not loosing. I am curious about low carb as outlined by BFC provides needed carbs for loss?

It seems that you eat grain carbs with breakfast and sometimes snack/lunch?

    1. Sharmour I eat now to be healthy not lose weight anymore. For me I don't have any desire to be gluten free or grain free.. If you look back at my weight loss and what I ate in my early posts, I lost all my 90 lbs by eating wheat every day probably. I usually eat carbs with breakfast and lunch and none with dinner and be done with all your eating and dinner by 7pm. That's how you're gonna lose.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
