Last post of 2011 for me...

Hello Friends,

Well it's the end of the year now and this will be my last post of the year. I feel really good about what I have accomplished as far as my weight loss goes. I still don't have a job and I am gonna try to work on that. I get bored and feel lonely sometimes cause I'm alone a lot. I know the job will help that. And also my hubby is always pointing out that he works and I don't.

I am not one of those people that make resolutions at the end of the year only to never have done them and feel stupid. I just try to be the way I know I should be every day. I won't make any big goals that I know I will never do. So that's me...what about you?

What I've been eating;
Wednesday lunch I made Almond crust pizza. I split the batch into 2 and ate one and will eat the other one today for lunch.

Dinner I had buffalo wings and a spinach salad and a pumpkin muffin and tea for desert later.
Thursday, breakfast omelet w/sauted onions, mushrooms, and cheese, Oasis bread toast w/butter and peanut butter and berries.

I went to visit Hubby's sister and the girls at his mom's house. They are here all week. we went to the park for a little while. what a gorgeous day it was.
Then we cam back to the house and I was hungry, so I started looking for something to eat. I knew there wouldn't be much cause his mom does not eat good. I found a can of tuna and mixed it w/mayo, cheese, and a few slices of cucumber cut up and ate it in some romaine lettuce leafs.

Hubby came over for a while.

Then his sister, Kristee said she wanted me to help her make a blog. I showed her everything I could then it was 4pm and I left and hubby in separate cars and went to the movies near our house. We saw "Young Adult" w/Charlize Theron. It was OK but she acted lie a stupid idiot. I know that was the role, but wait for video I say.

So I was Starving cause of what I ate for lunch and filled a box w/popcorn and ate the whole thing. I felt like a pig - but I was so hungry.

Then we snuck into the sci-fi movie "The Darkest Hour" you know the one where there is invisible aliens that evaporate people. I liked it. I love any scary movies.

We got home around 9:15pm so that was it for me. No dinner the popcorn was my dinner.

This morning's breakfast;
And now I have spent 2 hours reading emails and blogs and I have to clean my house and laundry the rest of the day. Hubby is working days so I have the house to myself to take my time today to do it.

Deborah K; asked how to post to the weight loss goals list;
Just leave you info in the comment section here and I will post.

My thought for the day:

A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn.

  1. I love reading your blog. You have accomplished so much with the BFC. I think Jorge should hire both you and Amber to communicate with everyone doing this lifestyle. You two are both amazing and motivating!Happy New Year!

  2. I was thinking about you at the movies this week while I was eating popcorn! LOL! I took my middle boy out to see a movie, and I don't usually get popcorn, but no movie experience would be right without popcorn, so we got some. Have a great end of the year, and I'll 'see' you next year!

  4. Happy New Year, Rosie! I'm not a big resolution girl, either. I would like to get back to basics with the BFC and start couting my S/C's a little better, but I haven't been doing too bad. Talk to you in the New Year :)

  6. Happy New Year Rosalie. I agree with unruly, you and Amber answer so many questions about the BFC on Jorge's behalf, he should hire you as correspondents.

    My New Year's resolution is to get over this weight loss plateau I've been experiencing for a long while now. It's very discouraging. I've joined a gym and have been going regularly. Starting some weight-training Monday, hoping to rev up my 42 year-old metabolism. :)

    p.s. Have you thought about working at a yarn shop or teaching people to make those adorable scarves?

  8. Happy New Years Rosalie! If I hadn't found your blog this year I might never have started the BFC. It was your blog that led me to trying the diet, and your blog still inspires me to keep going. I hope 2012 is our best year ever!

  11. Hi Rosalie, "Alaiyo" here. I wanted to thank you again for your help and great tips for the BFC when we talked. Your suggestion to not put the diet on hold through the holidays was an excellent one, and I am still going strong. (I even lost a couple pounds in the week over Christmas, rather than gaining them!) Anyways, have a fantastic New Years. You helped me so much :) and I am very grateful.

  12. thankyou rosalie for so quickly responding to my question regarding posting weights. my current weight is 246.9 and my goal is 155. i had originally purchased jorge's book when it first came out and it made sense to me, but it was just lacking in incentive. then last summer i discovered your site-i had never owned a computer before-wow, the book came to life with your site, tips and the comradarie of those who support one another. i lost weight initially, was dedicated to the lifestyle however i stopped w/a few significant deaths in my family. well, it's time to move on, with your help i;m now connected and 2012 will see me a different person. there is one thing i would like to share-i know that these things are simple and perhaps an expense not needed in our economy, but i like to keep my measuring devices in the same area by my sink-i wash them immed after use and that way they are good to go-measuring spoons, of course along w/a shot glass for dressings-easier than tablespoons which may over spill(one table spoon=15ml/cc which is marked on glass) and a scale that weighs in grams as well as mls-no need to be cleaning measuring cups over and over. also you can find scoops like ice cream scoops that are in measure-i have a tablespoon and teaspoon size-these are useful in measuring thick, gooey foods such as cream cheese, sour cream and nut butters, only need to use one item to measure just scoop and go(gooey stuff doesn't release any easier than they do from measuring spoons, but the measuring is easier.) i didn't realize i had so much to say!looking forward to all the wonderful insights from my fellow bfcers 2012 blessings to all.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
