Joseph's Sugar Free Syrup and Runnin the stairs....

Hello My Friends,

Kay mentioned on her blog that she wants all of us to get together. We have all been saying that right? So I vote to have it over here in California. We do have great weather, even if it is in colder weather - it is still nice here. Kay is in charge of setting it up. :-)

You know how I mentioned the other day how my black dog Mandy was acting all stupid cause she heard thunder outside?? I adopted her from a shelter about 6 years ago. When she hears any loud noise, thunder, a helicopter or plane nearby, or anything real loud really she freaks out. She starts panting and pacing and tried to find somewhere to hide.
here are my 2 girls
Last night some jets came over our house. She starting doing it again and now I am getting pissed cause she transfers the nervousness to poor little Peaches. Peaches runs to me shaking and jumps in my lap while Mandy is doing her pacing thing.

SO I got so angry and said "THAT'S IT"!!! Come on - and I made them run the stairs with me up and down and around the table, while Hubby sat in the chair. They think its a game - remember how they did it with me before? So after about 3 times, I got tired. Hubby said id that what you did the other day? Yup I said.

So I told them to get in their beds and in no time Hubby was amazed that they were asleep and it worked. HAHA.

I made another batch of the Almond flour Chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I didn't leave them in as long and they came out awesome. As you can see I only tried 1 this time.

My breakfast his morning. You know I how I feel about eating a good breakfast to start your day? It's: 2 oasis toast, w/butter and avocado, then pepper jack cheese, then 2 eggs made in my microwave thingy, turkey bacon and berries. It was very good and my tummy is so Happy right now. S-4 / C-1

Pattie mentioned that her Mom thought the Pumpkin muffins had a bit of an aftertaste. I am not sure if I mentioned before but, The first time I ate the coconut flour - I thought it tasted weird. It does taste different than anything I have tasted before, but the more you eat it - the better it starts to taste. So I think it is the coconut flour and not the pumpkin muffins or the Truvia that had the funny taste.

Hubby has to work nights tonight and tomorrow, so maybe I will have fish tonight. He doesn't care for that for some reason.

Review:
Joseph's Lite Cookies Sugar-Free Maple Syrup, 12 fl ozNature's Hollow Sugar Free Syrup, Maple Flavored, 8.5 oz
Ok so you know I always eat the Joseph's syrup and I LOVE it but it gives my tummy the gurgles after. (I only eat it once a week) Recently when Henry's turned into Sprouts - they stopped carrying all Josephs products and all they had is Natures Hollow.

Yesterday morning I ate Almond pancakes with the Natures hollow syrup. NOT AS GOOD - At ALL!! It was very thin and watery and not as good flavor.

So now I have to find a place that sells the Josephs cause it tastes WAY BETTER!!

Thanks for listening to me today. Lots of love to you all. WWRD??

My thought for the day:

Walk to your Own Beat

Walk to your Own Beat Positive QuoteIf a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured and far away.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Pattie and I talked about getting together at her beach house too! Jorge's conference a while back was a great opportunity to meet lots of other BFCers and was such a fun wkend.

Rosalie - I would consider giving up the sugar alcohols, especially since they upset your stomach. Healing your digestive tract is part of the BFC/FT and these disrupt it. Plus they are SO darn sweet. I think are okay for transition and on occasion, but not daily consumption. That is just my opinion though! I know they were part of you success thus far, I just mean long term.

  2. I only eat it once a week or so - and could do w/o it, but it is GOOD!

  4. Hello Rosalie :-)

Go to Josephscookies.com to order your syrup directly from the manufacturer. It's only 2.99 a bottle and when ordering twenty dollars worth of stuff, all shipping is free. I usually order several bottles at once, so it isn't hard to get 20.00 rung up. It keeps for quite awhile, so no worries there.

  5. I'd try using less, maybe, of the Joseph's? I just don't use any syrup at all on anything. I'd rather have some Nature's Hollow or nut butter. If I *really* need something sweet, 1 tsp of real maple syrup is about 4.5 grams of sugar.

  6. It's interesting to note how aware we all become of our bodies, and how they respond to different foods. I think I felt bloated a lot in the past--now that I don't feel that way.
In my limited opinion :), I think 1x week for something you enjoy seems reasonable. How many of us are going to be 100% all the time? Not me, but I'm sure doing better--sometimes even great!
I saw the Nature's Hollow syrup today, and wondered how it was...so thank you for saving me some $$.

  7. I think they place that Pattie ordered from had really good prices and shipping was a flat rate. They had the chips that you are using too. I haven't gotten the syrup yet, but after serving pancakes lately, it sure sounds tempting. I am glad to know that there is a big difference.
I would love to be in charge with the get together! I got another hit of bad news last night right at bed time, so I need a few days to process. How's the weather in the Spring?

  8. Hi I was kind of amazed when I saw your before and after picture. What is a BFC?
I gained a lot of weight after working as a cook in a local diner. Now I am working from home selling import export goods online and I have a lot of time to diet and workout I just dont know how. Spirulina might help.

  9. Hey Rosalie! Good point about the coconut flour. I don't think the muffins have an aftertaste at all. That was probably it. My great dane and now Riley were terrified of thunder. There is this jacket type thing they sell, I forget what it's called, but alot of people swear by it to calm the dogs. My mom said it was on QVC. Riley also hates fireworks, so when we are at the beach, we have to give him medication. It helps a little, but the poor dog acts like he's having a heart attack! I like the Josephs syrup too. I don't use it ofter, but when I do, I think it tastes great. I haven't made the cookies yet, as I am trying to be alittle strict with stuff right now. Even the stuff I can have. I realize I have to limit some of the portions too, so that has been my goal this week. Hugs to you from me! XOXO

  10. Hi Rosalie!
i ORDERED MY NATURES HOLLOW JAM FROM nETRITION (AS PER pATTIES SUGGESTION) & IT WAS A FLAT $4.99 SHIPPING (Oops, sorry caps were on. Im not screaming)& it arrived in a few days. I tried the Mountain Berry & it is delicious! A definite winner!
I would love to get together to meet but with my surgery next fall, I am hoarding my paid time off & being part time, I dont accrue much so it would have to be something that could be done over a weekend. Keep me posted on the get together. I would absolutely LOVE to met you all in person!!!!
    Hugs

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
