Different ways to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth....

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all having nice weather. It's been around 90 every day over here in Southern California. The offer is still open for you to come over and go swimming with me.

Now that Dawn explained all about the Coconut bread, I can't wait to try it. Hopefully I will be able to get the coconut flour tomorrow and make it soon.

I wanted to share some of the different ways that I have found to squash my sweet tooth. Even though I have been doing the Belly Fat Cure for 1 & 1/2 years I still think in my head that I need something sweet every day. Only now - everything tastes real sweet to me, so it doesn't take that much.


  1. Dark chocolate, 85% Lindt or Ghiradeli midnight revere. 2 squares of these is sufficient.
  2. Redi Whip, it comes in white and even chocolate. I just mix both flavors in a small bowl and eat,
  3. Joseph's sugar free cookies. They are not mama's but they will do and they are cookies.
  4. The Chia seed Pudding with Redi Whip on top, this is slowly becoming one of my favorites. (on recipe page)
  5. Natures hollow sugar free preserves on some toast with cream cheese first.
  6. Spry Gum, I pop 2 of these in my mouth at least twice a day. It really helps.
  7. Clemmy's ice cream, my new favorite flavor is Peanut butter-chocolate chip.
  8. Berries, black berries, raspberries, blueberries.
  9. Toast with some sugar free Joseph's peanut butter and some blueberries on top.
  10. Toast with butter, cinnamon, and truvia on top.
  11. Zevia soda
Well that's about all I can think of right now.

What I ate today;
breakfast; 2 eggs, a smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/cheese, 2 turkey bacon, and some berries in a little cup (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries), and of course coffee w/turvia, cinnamon, powdered cream.  S-4/C-1
lunch; 1/2 cup of brown rice, broccoli, and some of the cheese, artichoke dip on top, with a handful of porkrinds.  S-2/C-1
snack; 2 celery stalks with joseph sugar free peanut butter on top  S-0/C-0
dinner; one of those cheese, spinach chicken sausages I got at Sams Club one time, and some asparagus, chia pudding with rediwhip on top for desert.  S-1/C-1

I spent may hours today scanning really old pictures for hubby's mom's 80th birthday party on Saturday. It's funny looking at pictures from over 40 years ago. Hubby took some old Super 8  movie reels that was his dad's to a camera shop and had him turn them into digital so we can play those and the old pictures for everybody. I hope they all enjoy them.

  1. The east coaster is up...it's 7:30 AM, so I'm sure you're still in lala land! I like the ideas as I always need something sweet too. I like to make thesenut chocolate thingeys. I have to get it together and take some photos when I make them and put it on my blog. I'm alittle slow with all the extras for the blog. Never have time to sit and figure it all out. I just bought the coconut flour yesterday too. Hope to make the bread soon, although it is busy over here the next few days. Might have to wait until next week. Take care my friend. Wish I could come and swim with you. It's hot here in PA too. My pool is like 90 degrees water temperature! XO

  2. I've been using BFC for about the same amount of time. My sweet tooth go to's Lindt 90% Cocoa , Nature's Own double fiber bread or cheerios ( w/ unsweetened almond milk) with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg & Truvia sprinkled on it- kind of like pumpkin pie spices. I also whip up my own whipping cream with Truvia to have no sugar option and eat with homemade cream puffs. (Egg, water, & flour)

    I need your help, I thought I was keeping up with the blogs. But,,, I sure missed the coconut bread. Who is the recipe from? where can I get it?.
    Sounds good to me. I like coconut. It's something else I can put in my son's lunch for the day center.
    We are having a heat wave here on the east coast too.
    Also, my husbands sister died this week. She is being laid out in Daly City, CA. Is this anywhere near you? If so do you know of a nice florist in that area? I want to call today to order flowers. We won't be able to go to the funeral, I would like to order a Bird of Paradise arrangement so our niece can take them home. Thanks for any info you can send me.

    Have fun with those photos today - I love old pictures!

    I make my own whipping cream too, with no sugar. Well, sometimes I put a little stevia or erythritol or xylitol in, too.

    I mostly just have a bit of chocolate to satisfy my sweet tooth. Sometimes I spread some peanut butter on the chocolate.

    Still working on a good cookie recipe with the coconut flour. Will post one when I am happy with them.

  5. Hi...I'm so happy I found your blog. I have been just finishing up reading Jorge's BFC and starting to get myself ready to start it. So your blog is very helpful! I have a question for you. Have you found any of the sugar free products to upset your stomach or cause a lot of gas? I know other sugar free products have been that way for me so I hesitate using too much of those products...but I don't know if I have ever tried the Xyilol product. Very inspiring to hear your success :-)

  6. Linda, Daly City is nowhere near me - sorry. Not even close. That's up north and I'm way down south. Just look up one of those 1-800-florist. or something.

    Kimberly, The only thing that upsets my tummy is the Joseph's sugar free syrup. It makes my stomach gurgle all day when I eat it w/some home made french toast. Because of the Malytol. But it's sooo good, So I only eat that once a week.

    Thanks for your blog! It has been a really encouraging tool as my husband and I have started the BFC. We've been on it 7 weeks and he has already lost 27 lbs and I've lost 15! It works!

    I also love the 85% cocoa chocolate as a little post-dinner treat. We've also tried feezing Sobe Lifewater until it's slushy. Just remember to drink a little first so it doesn't explode and then shake it up every half hour or so for an even freeze.

    Another thing we've tried is making our own homemade ice cream with heavy cream, vanilla-flavored unsweetened almond milk and stevia (only use like 4-5 packets). Sounds weird, but it is YUMMY! We found a cheap ice cream maker, and it works like a charm!

    Anyway-- loving your blog! Thanks for all the work you put into it-- it really is helping a lot of people!

    I really enjoyed seeing the sweets you listed as I often forget what to reach for when that sudden attack hits now and then.

    I am also taking your suggestion about eating meat and veggies for the evening meal before 7pm.

    As I mentioned I was eating all my meals before 3pm thinking thinking that was the BFC plan. I understand now what you mean by eating your grains/carbs before 3pm but eat a meal (meat/veggies) for dinner when possible.

    Well, I am off for cycle ride!! I just had party wings and a salad for dinner.

    I had 1/2 smart & delicious tortilla w/eggs, cheese and 1 spicy chicken sausage for breakfast.

    I had 3 wasa crispbreads with cream cheese and smoke salmon for lunch and 1 hard boil egg for a snack.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
