Monday Starting week 40: The Belly Fat Cure.

Well to my surprise this morning I was down to 169.5 lbs. I got so excited I almost cried! Every week that I see a drop in weight I am still so excited even after 9 months. My weight seemed to slow down considerably. I am lucky if I see 1 lb loss a week now.

I have developed a kind of routine. Which I like. A big breakfast is very important so I eat eggs almost every morning, which I have become accustomed to. I love eggs! After doing this for 9 months, I have found foods that I tend to eat a lot because of the nutritional values they have to offer.

In the beginning I ate many different things. But then I realized how important fiber is. I had to choose which kinds of carbs I eat. I don't eat eat beans or brown rice or wheat pasta that often any more. Only once in a while because the are very high in carbs and some has sugar too.

I found that by eating stir-fry veggies for dinner it really helps me go # 2 in the morning when I wake up. I know - TMI, but whatever helps right?

What I ate yesterday;
breakfast: french toast make w/ezekial  100% sprouted bread, with josephs sugar free syrup, 2 pcs, 2 pcs of turkey bacon, unsweetened vanilla almond breeze milk, 2 cups of coffee w/benifiber, truvia, half and half, cinnamon, and reslina, barleans, 2 natural factors probiotics, and all my other vitamins. (I realized that the malitol in the syrup also makes me go to # 2 and makes my stomach gurgle)
Lunch: 2 small chicken drumsticks, w/ a pizza made with a sara lee wheat pita, cheese, seeds of change romagna 3 cheese sauce and turkey pepperoni.
snack: super seed w/water
dinner: stir fry veggies w/ some chicken and shirataki noodles, and braggs and a touch of sesame oil for flavor. and 2 squares of 85% Lindt dark chocolate.

I really can't see myself cutting down anymore than I do. If I want to make this work for life, I really think that you need to eat enough to feel satisfied. Don't get me wrong, at first I went to bed holding my stomach sooo hungry every night and woke up starving every morning. I was not used to eating so differently. And from the beginning, I cut out my carbs with dinner. I think this is key to loosing.

I feel Great! I can't wait to reach my goal of 150lbs by the end of the year.

Only a little over 2 more months to go to reach our Year End Goals!

  6. Congrats Rosalie and everyone else!! Keep up the good work. I know what you mean about about getting in a routine.....it makes it harder to stray off course. My breakfast is usually 2 hardboiled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, a serving of Uncle Sam cereal with USAM. Usually a cup of tea or two with benefiber, half and half and stevia. For lunch, I do something on a FlatOut bread wrap as well as a side of Fiber One cottage cheese. For dinner I have a huge salad with chicken or turkey...or whatever I'm serving my family without the carbs. I've also tried to not eat carbs at dinner either. I also have a glass of red wine and some dark chocolate. yummy!!

  7. Great job!!! Awesome, I will have to try making stir fry veggies more often for dinner, what veggies do you use that have the least amount of carbs? Thanks for the ideas.

  8. Rosalie...i too have been doing this for 9 months and i also stay away from the rice, pasta and beans. My carb choice is the Smart & Delicious tortillas for it's fiber and there are so many possibilities with them. I've been using steamed shredded cabbage for my pasta, it is so good. You can also shred cauliflower to rice consistency and it's great too! I love eating this way! I get so excited....great job...150 here we come!!!!

  10. As of today I am at 179.6. Down 2 lbs. Hopefully it will stay. I have bounced to this before and gone up again and again. So, hopefully it will stay here and go down again. I look so forward to reading everyones comments because they are so helpful and encouraging. Rosalies grandchild is doing fantastic. Don't I wish I had that metabolism. Don't know if I will make my 150 by years end but I am sure going to give it a good try.

  11. Good job everyone! I was hoping to be back down to 142 today, but my scale showed 144. I did lose from my gain after several weeks of visitors and being sick, as I explained earlier, but according to the last time I weighed in, I'm still at a gain of two pounds. The nutella I ate during the week didn't help! Anyhow, I just started my cycle today so I'm hopeful that after my bloat from that is gone, and good eating throughout the week, I'll possibly see 141 next week and be able to officially report a loss. I'm so close to the 130s again that I can almost taste it!!!

  12. Minichick I can only hope to get to the 140's so don't give up. You will when your body says it is ok and doesn't have the pressure. I saw a wonderful week last week and I need to remember to eat my veggies more than my starchy carbs. I always see a loss when I remember that. Right now spinach is a must for me and it helps with very little carb count. Good luck!!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
