Tuesday of week 33: The Belly Fat Cure

Hello all, I hope everyone had a nice long weekend. I went to the LA County Fair with hubby yesterday. I will talk about that in a minute.

Congrats to those who lost weight in the past week, and for those who may have gone up, don't worry about that. Remember before we started this diet, our weight went up and down 5 lbs over night and we never gave it a second thought. If you look at my weight loss progress there are plenty of weeks it went up or nothing.
Did it get me down? Yeah for a minute, but you have to look at the bigger picture and just shake it off.

Yesterday I ate:
Breakfast: All my usual vitamins, barleans, 2 cups of coffee with clear metamucil, truvia, cinnamon, and half and half. 3/4 cup of Uncle Sams Cereal w/unsweetened vanilla almond breeze milk w/truvia.
Lunch: 1/3-1/2 of a turkey leg, and about 5 french fries
snack: string cheese
dinner: stir fry veggies with chicken and 2 squares of Lindt 85% dark chocolate.

We were very disappointed at the Fair that a lot of the shopping places were gone. :-(  But we did walk about 2-3 miles. I bought a cool new phone case for my Motorola Droid 2.
So anyway, we were walking around and I saw this bathing suit place. It said $8 and up. So I decided to brave it and try one on. As you know our new house has a pool and all my suits are size 18 and fall off me. I found some cute ones that had a halter tank top with boy short bottoms. Very cute! So I held it up and thought, NO WAY! It said size 13, if you remember I bought a size 14 pants in the pic above-R and that was very exciting. I figured I would just try it and then put it back. I couldn't believe it went on. Granted my thighs still look fat, but before I probably wouldn't have been able to get it around 1 thigh. The top actually went on too. So I took it back to the lady and she told me that it said size 13 but it was a juniors so it was really a womens size 12. Well I nearly fell down. I was shaking and so excited I almost couldn't talk.

So on the way home I told hubby I wanted to stop and Kohl's. They always have good sales and I just wanted to try stuff on. I was looking at the sale racks and tried on some pants. I bought 2 pairs and Guess what?? They are size 12.

Don't forget to post you weight progress and food. If you would like to join our weight loss progress chart to the right, just leave your info here and i will add it so we can help each other and cheer each other on.

Thanks for listening. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day;
People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Wow!! It was like this post was written for ME!! How encouraging. I just stepped on the scale 5 minutes ago for my week 4 weigh in and I was UP one pound. I'm disappointed, because I still feel like I tried to eat really well this week. I don't get it :( But you are right, before it may have been 5 pounds in one night. CONGRATS on the size 12!! I just told my husband that's what I would like to fit back into. I am a 16 right now (still). That is so exciting! You are an inspiration to me :)

  2. Yes I agree with Jaimie, your blogs are very inspirational. :) I love to read them :) Congrats on the size 12. :) I can't wait until I fit back into a size 10/12 again. I have so many old clothes I have saved for when I reach this weight again. Right now I where mainly 16 and 18. There is one pair of 14's that fit, but I think its the kinda material LOL!!! But I must say those are my fav pants only because I look at the tag with excitement from the smaller size, LOL!! Really when I started wearing size 18's I just cut most of my tags out because I was sad I had let myself go. But no more sad moments. Its only going to get better from here!

    Good luck everyone!

  7. I would love to join in on this adventure, but I am not sure how to post anything. Not computer savvy by any means. I started out at 188.4, and am down to 182 a couple of days ago. So, I would love to have you tell me what to do for that if at all possible. Otherwise, I can do what I am doing now.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
