It Rained so MAD Sweet-Tooth took over...

Hi All,

How is everybody doing on YOUR weight loss journey today? Share your successes and YES even failures. If you reach out and REALLY want it - we can help.

Well it finally got a little colder over here. Yesterday it rained on and off all day. Pretty hard at times. Since we live near the mountains, I think we got it harder than some around here. My poor Mandy gets so spastic when she hears loud noises or YEAH - the rain. She paces and pants for hours. You just have to leave her alone and then she calms down when she's ready,
No walk yesterday for us.

Today is still a bit cool but clearer. I actually turned on the heater this morning for a few to take the chill off.
My breakfast yesterday was 3 of those pumpkin pancakes I made several days ago and put them in the freezer. I ate them with my homemade sunflower seed butter and natures hollow preserves on top.

Yesterday My sister Lisa and step-mom Maria came over for a visit. I really wanted to take them down all the horse trails to show them the horses, but the rain kept us in. I went to run a few errands in the morning - Petsmart, then Sprouts for my healthy stuff.

Ever since they switched from Henry's market to Sprouts it seems like many times I go in to get my healthy stuff - they are changing and dis-continue many things that I buy. I am not liking Sprouts now but its the closest healthy market to me.

I am going to be forced to order stuff online like many of you already do. www.netrition.com
They have low shipping and I guess when you consider how much gas costs to get to the Healthy markets - it might just be easier for me.

So by the time thy got there it was just after lunch. I decided to steam and shred a head of cauliflower and make us a pizza. I made it big enough so all 3 of us could have 2 pieces. They stopped at Chik-Fil-A on the way and had chicken strips,  so I ate 1 also.

It was a weird food day for me, they kind of threw me off my usual routine by eating lunch SO LATE.
We all ate 1 of those pumpkin brownies I made the other day. They like them.

I was trying to show Maria how to make some healthy stuff cause she said she got a pkg of flaxseed, so I showed her how to make a muffin with it. We both ate some of that too.

They left and my dinner was just a salad. After I ate a few bites of Clemmy's.

I told you it was a weird food day.
Some days my Sweet-Tooth takes over and decides to have a party - so that is why I make sure I Have plenty on hand of the homemade healthy stuff in my fridge.

Have a great day - all of you.
Here's a big hug for anyone who needs it today.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

  1. I'm jealous that you were at Chick Fil A:) Our furnace has been running and it is chilly! I did however only wear a sweatshirt at my grand daughters softball game yesterday and didn't freeze! That's a bonus:)
I am out of control Dear Rosalie and I have to wrap my head around getting back in the game. UGH!!!

  2. Thank you so much for the time you take to be encouraging and open and honest.....you are so faithful with your blog. I am sure many people, like me, read everyday and take something away from it. We may not always comment, but we ARE so grateful

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
