I Did it - Pre-Op this morning...

Hello Friends,

Well I finally did it and booked my appointment for the surgery on my foot. For those of you that don't know me that well, after I have lost all this weight - I suddenly started getting pain and a bump growing over my joint on my big toe on my right foot. After going to the doctor - he said I have Degenerative Arthritis and need an operation to remove the bump.

So I have been putting it off for about a year now after hearing scary stories of others that wish they never had operations on their feet because the pain never went away.

Well I can't wear those sexy high heeled shoes that I so deserve to wear now because It hurts when my foot bends there. I went for my Pre-Op this morning and hubby went with me. I asked the doctor if while he was operating could he make my big toes thinner and remove the callouses. I have ugly feet - what can I say.
He just smerked and said no. AWE come on !!! Well I tried.

My appointment is next Tuesday - Sometime... I have to call the day before to find out what time it will be. Fingers crossed that it will be very early so I can get it over with and I can't eat or drink from midnight the night before. You know me and no food - does NOT mix. I get real grouchy and shakey when I get hungry..

My breakfast yesterday was 2 of my cheesecake muffins with Natures Hollow on top and a few berries.
 Lunch was breakfast - LOL
I made eggs with sauted mushroom, onion, kale and some cut up chicken, with 2 of my biscuits dipped in some Natures Hollow maple syrup.
snack yesterday was some raw pepitas and raw sunflower seeds and a zevia.

Dinner the past few nights - I made a pot of veggies and lentils. Lentils are very high in fiber and protein.
I used 1 cup of lentils,1/2 cup of barley, zucchini, onion, mushrooms, celery, kale, cummin, chicken bullion and some water of course.

Hubby loved it and here I am eating it with some bites of cut up steak and avocado inside.the other night I are it with some bacon crumbled up inside.
desert was some clemmys last night.

Breakfast this morning was one of my muffins with homemade coconut butter on top and turkey bacon.
1 tbsp of each;
coconut oil, almond flour, coconut flour, chia seeds
some USVAMilk, cinnamon, 1 egg, crushed up walnuts and a few blueberries.
mix all up very good in a small bowl and cook in microwave for 2 minutes.
Lunch today after the doctors appt, we went to a few places looking for stuff to fix on our new house then we were both hungry and went to that place we found a while back called Johnson's HotDogs on Foothill blvd west of Euclid.

Hubby and I both had a Portuguese hotdog, me with no bun but with sauerkraut instead, onion, jalapeno, mustard and cheese and I used a fork and knife. I also ate some of hubby's fries.
It was very good but that hotdog was a bit fattening and greasy I think cause I felt it sitting in the bottom of my tummy on the way home in the car. Worth it though once in a while I say.

Snack time I ate a cheesecake muffin with some Nature's Hollow preserves on top.

I don't really know what dinner will hold for tonight. Maybe my good ole stand-by of wings and a spinach salad.

Boy sometimes when I look back at what I eat in my pictures that I post - I even surprise myself.

Make tomorrow a GREAT day. This is PurpleRosy signing off...

and what ever you do - Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  2. I LOVE hot dogs! Keep us posted on the surgery. I am excited for you to have it done. How long until you can walk with your babies?

    1. I guess I will have to play it one day at a time for the walking. He said he will give me crutches and a walking boot for my foot and I can use the crutches if I want. Maybe after a week or so I can hobble with them - I will see.

  3. I think you've posted a photo of your toes after giving yourself a paint job... I don't recall them being hobbit-like.(You want to see some ugly feet, I'll post a pic of the hubby's if they ever show themselves around me again. Yikes.)

Alright. Can you tell me why my coconut butter doesn't look like yours seems to? Yours looks like it spreads nicely. Mine was ran until my poor processor started to smoke (yes, I exaggerate a little, but it ran for a LONG time)and still is too gritty to imagine enjoyable on toast. I had a few nibbles and it immediately absorbed every last drop of saliva in my mouth. I needed a glass of water to keep it from expanding more and cutting off my air supply when I swallowed it. (again, I may exaggerate a little, but it was DRY)

So those 3 brown discs between your coffee and breakfast plate are not chocolate covered cookies? Ha ha... Part of the table I assume, but funny how I immediately envision a goodie.

    1. Oh Becky you are funny, yes its the coffee table. One time I used a different kind of coconut flakes that said low fat and it did the same thing. Did not get soft at all.
It really matters what kind you buy I guess. Go look for the brand that I get and It WILL work. It tastes so good I am hooked. Add a little cinnamon also.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
