I need a little feedback...

Hello to All,

I really don't have that much to say today. I am still eating the same way as I did before. Nothing has changed.

Yesterday breakfast;
I ate 2 eggs, w/cheese, 1/2 avocado, 2 turkey bacon, some blackberries and blueberries ( finally finished the blueberries) 2 oasis toast w/a little butter, peanut butter, and my coffee w/clear benifiber, truvia, powdered cream and cinnamon.  S-5/C-1

lunch; I made a cauliflower crust pizza w/little pesto sauce, baby spinach, cheese, chicken lunch meat cut up, mushrooms, and a bit more cheese.
It WAS real good!
Then we went to the movies and saw Conan. I have to tell you that Jason Momoa is H-O-T, but the movie did have a lot of violence in it. Just FYI. I had popcorn w/o butter and water. Then we carefully snuck into the Don't be Afraid of the Dark Movie. (there was a guy at the door) LOL! All I have to say is I am NEVER gonna live in a old house - EVER!

When we got home it was too late to eat so I just had 1 pc of coconut bread w/a little butter on it.

As you might remember we have lived in our new house for 1 year and 1 month now. We currently have Verizon for everything cell, house phone, internet and cable. No matter what we are keeping Verizon for our cells, they have the best service for us. But our triple play bill went up quite a bit and I have been inquiring about switching to something else.

Time Warner cable is not that much cheaper, but Direct TV will be. Dish is cheaper but they don't have a whole house DVR and Direct does. Does anyone have Direct TV?? If so can I get some feedback before we make up our minds??

It's still way hot over here - about 105 every day for the past week and the next few days too. So not many walks - its just too hot and when it cools off its too dark. Oh well.

That's it for me all. Lots of love to you all. Thanks for listening to me today.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

  1. Do you get the LA Times or the Orange County Register? They both have coupons (in the coupon flier) for Clemmy's for $1.50 off of 2! Yay! I bet Ralphs would double that coupon up to $1 and make it $2.50 off. Every bit helps! If you get Direct TV will you let me know how it is? We have had Dish TV for a couple of years and like it, but prices keep going up and up. When I had lost my job 2 yrs ago Dish gave us a discount for 6 months because we were going through tough times and I like them for that, but the price has gone back up. I've looked into Direct and they have a lot of hidden fees. We may still go with Direct Tv, though! I'm writing this and eating my coconut bread and Nature's Hollow jam! :)

  2. Can't help you with this one Rosie. I have Verizon for my cell phone, but Comcast for both houses. They are such a rip off and I swear,by the time you add the DVRs and a converter box for every TV it is like a small car payment every month. Our other choice is Verizon, but they don't have that at the shore and at home they would have to run cable again, and I'm not up for that! But here is a tip. Call Verizon and tell them that you are thinking of switching. I just did that with comcast and they gave me new promotion rates for one year. I marked it on the calendar and when that year is up I'm calling again. My neighbor does this every 6 months and they always get his rate down quite a bit. Time consumming, but worth it if you can save some bucks! PS: coconut bread in the oven as we speak!

  3. Great tips, Pattie! Thanks! I think I will call Dish and try it again! Every cent helps in this economy!

  4. We have dish and I really like it. They also gave me a discount when I was on unemployment, but now the bill has gone back up too. I have heard if you call and tell them you plan to switch, they will give you the introductory rate? It's worth a try. I agree with Pattie on Comcast. They are really expensive and everything is an add on. With our Dish Network we have a dual DVR and HD, 4 TV's and I think it is about 84.00 a month?
    Good luck!
You are so creative in your meals!
Will you list your top 4 summer movies that you saw for me? It may be movie going time if my husband isn't working.

I made Lemon Coconut Bread: using,

  8. I am 53, have lost 10 lbs. on the BFC. I don't have a lot of belly fat, but have more fat on hips, thighs, and rear. Do you think it will come off my legs with this diet, because I have always read you should reduce fat intake to lose on your lower half? I need to lose another 20 lbs.

  9. Hey Rosalie, we don't have direct tv, but TimeWarner Cable instead. We had a friend that switched over to direct tv & had lots of problems, then went back to cable. Not sure of his issues with it. Sorry I can't help more. Take care.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
