I Finally Got to Try a Clemmy O'.....

Hello Friends,

So you know I have been trying to find those Clemmy O's for quite a while. No luck everywhere I try, just the Clemmy's ice cream which I love.

Today I went with Hubby to the dentist cause he is a big baby. It was so incredibly hot today 105. I hated leaving my 2 dogs outside. Don't worry they have a dog house and I left them plenty of water. But they are just kind of spoiled cause they are used to me not working and being home. On days like this I can hardly get them to go outside to go potty.

OK-so on the way home, Hubby wants to stop at this Farmers Market to get some veggies so he can juice. I got some eggs and spinach. Then I stopped at a Ralph's because I needed some women stuff. Yeah I know I am 52 and that monthly friend just won't go away. I went over to the ice cream isle and VIOLA! To my surprise they had the Clemmy O's. I bought a box and could not wait to come home and try one.

By the time we got home I needed to put them in the freezer. I had a spinach salad w/Amies sugar free dressing, goat cheese, bacon bits, and a chicken breast cut up. After I ate 1 of the Clemmy O's. First I was kind of disappointed at how small it was, I got the snack size which is about 1 carb each). It was really no big deal at all. It kind of reminded me of a Klondike bar. I love the ice cream much, MUCH better.

Well at least I got to try it.

My BFC friend Linda sent me an email that I would like to share with you. I hope you don't mind Linda. Others might have the same question that you did.

Hi Rosalie!  I am Lisa and I want you to know that you have been a major inspiration to my husband and myself!
I found your blog after buying Jorge's book.  I showed your blog to my husband (a Riverside Sheriffs Deputy) and he was interested. Sooo we both are now on this journey!
It has been easier than I thought.  But the biggest thing is that my hubby is doing it too. I am concerned that when he goes back to work (he is on vacation)  since it is the night shift, he might fall back into the "fast food pattern" I hope he can stay stong...LOL.
Anyway thanks for your blog.  I have a question, this weekend we are taking his Mother out to eat and she is a bit picky.  She will want to go to Pollys Pies or Bobs Big Boy.  Ugh, what can we eat there that is not going to sabotage our efforts?
Kindness to you,  Lisa in Corona.  :)

My response:

Hi Lisa,

I am very happy to hear that you are both doing the BFC. My hubby is a fireman and works nights sometimes and days sometimes. He is not doing it with me but tries to eat healthy. But when he goes to work they all tempt him and he does give in. We can only control ourselves and not the hubby's.
I used to be worried when eating out, but don't worry. Just order maybe a steak or chicken or fish and ask for only broccoli with it and no potatoes. Not the mixed veggies that they always serve, no carrots, zucchini is OK. Or chicken cesar salad. if you order a appetizer,  get some spinach dip and ask for celery instead of chips. if you drink - just get one glass of Merlot, or cabernet savingnon.

Have fun and I hope that helps :-)

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all. Don't forget to visit and join and leave messages for my other friends blogs on the list below too. WWRD??

How to be Unstoppable Positive QuoteYou’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.

  3. I can't even find the regular Clemmy's ice cream here! Why can't Maryland get with the program! Good advice about eating out. I usually go with Caesar or Cobb salads.

  4. We tried the coconut bread and I like it. My husband and daughter weren't thrilled with it, but they aren't doing the BFC. My daughter made the plain bread and while I don't love the taste, it's good with Nature's Hollow jam. The thing I love about this bread is how full it makes me after just 2 pieces and how much fiber it offers. My daughter ate a piece last night and told me all about how regular it made her this morning! LOL! I agree with her! I hope this bread helps me like it has helped you with some extra weight loss! Also, Thanks for the update on the Clemmy-O's. You just saved me $7.99 on a box at Sprouts. Stay cool! It's already hot at the beach!

  7. I've found Clemmy's at Whole Foods a.k.a. whole paycheck & Harris Teeter (I'm in NC). Sorry they were so small. I think I'd be tempted to eat more than one. I love your dedication. It's very motivating.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
