Year 2, Sunday wk 6 on the Belly Fat Cure

Hi all,

I wanted to talk about some things that may be uncomfortable to some. Hubby and I were talking the other day about how I started on this Belly Fat Cure adventure. There were a lot of things that neither one of us realized.

First I think that you have to get past the denial part. What I mean is, you have to admit that you are overweight or fat. At a point in my life before BFC, I had to accept myself the way I was. I realized that I was overweight and a size 18-20. I decided that the number that I was, was just what I was and that was that.

The funny part is, when I started posting the before and after pictures of me, I and hubby said that we never realized that I was actually that big. It's funny, I knew what size I was but, never really looked at myself fully. I only looked down at myself and tended to not look in big mirrors or at pictures of myself. Like I said I got to a point where I had to accept myself.

Don't be mislead by the comments of some who say that they are never hungry when they start the Belly Fat Cure. After the first 2 weeks in starting the BFC, I stopped eating my carbs after 3pm like Jorge suggests in his book. He said it will accelerate your weight loss, and that is what is I needed, a boost.

Hubby keeps reminding me what I was like in the first 2 months. I sat holding my stomach every night rocking saying, "I'm hungry! I'm Hungry!" I was hungry every night when I went to bed and woke up hungry every morning. But I held fast - I never cheated. I wanted this real bad and would not give up.

They key is to not to expect it to be magic or happen over night. You will NOT loose 4-9lbs every week like it says on the cover. No Way!! Now think about that for a minute shall we. That's not really that healthy is it??

So patience is the key - OK? Don't give up when you are not doing that great. Just keep doing it no matter what. You've heard me many times say that.

And when you in those situations that you feel you will or have to cheat, Just do my 1-3 bite rule of 1 thing that you love. THEN STOP!!

Support is a big thing!!

Don't be afraid to leave your comments below. We can all friend each other on Facebook and help each other in many ways - if just to know that we are not alone.

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all.

My thought for the day:

Give yourself time to be. Give yourself a break. Enjoy the day, your normal existence. We have to learn to be kinder to ourselves, much kinder. Smile a lot, although nobody is watching. Listen to your own brook, echoing yourself. A lot of problems come from self-hatred. Let us let go of that; let us let it go away. Let us be real people. Let us be genuine people.

 Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Thank you I needed this today. Today completes my first 7 days on BFC... and though I wasn't hungry to the point of eating the kid next to me....the thought did cross my mind. My goal for this week was to try and eat my carbs before 3....wish me luck!

  2. Great Blog today Rosalie! I lost over 8lbs my first week; although now over 5weeks it is averaging 2 per week; which they say is ideal so your skin has a chance to keep up & will not end up loose and hanging in the end. So if I maintain this rate; I will be at my goal by this time next year!

  3. It is so helpful when you post things like this, because makin the changes to do the bfc is hard. Gosh in the first couple of weeks before I found the bfc community I felt so frustrated and I wanted to give up. The only reason I didn't at first is that I wanted to give it a fair shake.

  5. Great post!! So true. I am on the last week and then I will be at my two month mark. I totally understand the holding stomach at night thing. I do this all the time, but its not as bad as it use to be. I will have to admit, there have been quite a bit of cheat days for me though. I am trying to make the future less cheat days so I can have faster success, but thank you for always posting and helping us as you have Rosalie! Your amazing!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
