I just can't seem to start my day without you.
I found out early some things that I should have been doing the whole time and thought I would share them for any new people.
- Take some before pictures; (no matter how fat you think you look) - you will never realize how important this is until you have lost a ton of weight and have nothing to compare to.
- Measure, Measure, Measure; Keep a pad of paper and make a chart in the bathroom. Once a week, whatever day you will chose to be your official weigh-in day, keep track of your: weight, waist, hips - and for me also fat thighs.
- Keep 1 pair of your fat jeans; I am so glad I did this. I kept a pair of my favorite (before) jeans. I know you are tempted to get rid of them all - but just keep one to compare later in a picture so you can hold them out and say - YEAH!
- Blog; or at least become part of out blog community for ideas, and support. If you chose to do you own blog I will advertise it for you to get you some followers. See my blog list below.
- Eat a good breakfast; always. For me this was very important. That kept me from getting too hungry and making bad choices later on in the day.
- Drink lots of water; I have no problem with this part cause I always drank lots of water before. Even if you are drinking tea or flavored water its not the same as water. You still need to drink water too.
- Fiber; Make sure you get enough fiber. For me and many others this is a big issue. Being able to go #2 becomes a problem when yo go on low carb, and cut out the sugar. I use the clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and I take 2 pro-biotics and 2 Magnesium every day now along with my other vitamins and I have no problem going any more.
- No Carbs with dinner; I know this is hard at first, but your body will get used to it. For me it took a whole month. I was so hungry without having (what I thought) was a balanced meal. But it will help you lose weight faster, so just meat or fish and veggies for dinner from now on.
- No eating past 7pm; This is hard at first also but it is crucial in helping you with your weight loss.
- And last but most important; Don't let the Food Bullies Get to you. Other people will keep trying to get you to go off of what your food plan is. Don't let them bully you into eating stuff you are not supposed to. Stand FIRM and don't listen.!!
I hope this stuff will help. Jorge had a good idea in writing the book to show us what to eat to lose weight, but you kind of get thrown in the middle of nowhere without knowing what to do next.
Its the support and follow-up part that matters the most. You will definitely get that here with us. Click join and start leaving comments so we can help, and don't forget the list of my friends blogs below also.
My breakfast yesterday; eggs w/cheese, turkey bacon, oasis bread w/butter and peanut butter and a few blueberries. |
Lunch a Almond crust pizza w/ a spinach salad.
Snack; a piece of cheese and 1 square of 86% dark chocolate while driving in the car.
Yesterday's dinner; chicken and veggies. |
After dinner snack; I made a batch of Ginger bread cookies and ate a few w/some cream cheese on top w/ some tea.
Look under My Fave Products and Recipes tabs for stuff that I found along my journey.
Thanks for listening to me today. Lots of love to all.
And Welcome to Norma and any other newbies.
This is PurpleRosy signing off...
My thought for the day:
Stand Firm
Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.
Don't let the Food Bullies get to you.
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Thank you Rosalie!!! I'm having hell with the NOT EATING AFTER 7... I haven't been eating after 7 BUT it sure has been hard.... I have a hard time with drinking water...(Long story) and now just the thought of plain ole water makes me want to gag... I was a big time coffee in the am...then sweet tea ALL day drinker. Now it's coffee in the morning and Tazo passion (Ocal,0 Sugar,0 Carbs)tea with a little Truvia in... UI boil it and make it myself.. and I love it..
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all the information you give us!!! I wish I would have found you sooner!!!
My only other piece of advice is to find a way to fit the things you love into the plan so that you don't feel deprived. It has really worked for me. The best part of all is if we break every rule, we can start over fresh the next day. Except for the sugar detox, I believe that has to be for 2 consecutive weeks to get sugar out of your system.
ReplyDeleteJust butting in with my thoughts:) Thanks Rosalie!
very good advice! I also agree with Kay's advice. I always make room for my treats. That way I don't feel deprived.
ReplyDeleteYeah I forgot that one, That's why we all have each other to help one another. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood advice Rosie! I beleive its all about balance!
ReplyDeletenor we you! boy, did i learn a lesson last night. i watched tv rather late and really was ready to go to bed, but i made a choice to eat at 3am!!! hey, when it"s bedtime, go to bed. don"t set yourself up to eat(and in my case overeat) by not making sleep a priority!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely the basics that you MUST do! I think people forget about getting their fiber in. I think its really important to try and get at least 25 grams of fiber a day. I wish I had done my measurements and fat profile pictures in the beginning. I do measure with clothes though - when they get too loose you know you are losing inches if not pounds!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminders Rosalie! I should print this out and tape it next to my bathroom mirror.I snack on 0/0 stuff after 7 pm.- hope that's ok
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosalie for the "newbie tips"! I just joined your blog a few days ago & have commented a couple of times & I already feel welcomed into the fold. I'm new to reading blogs & leaving comments. I was hesitant at first but I'm so happy to have found you. I can't do this alone & I've failed at so many diets in the past. I really want to succeed this time. Reading what you & others have gone through has been funny, eye-opening, encouraging, & inspiring. Thanks for sharing and "keeping it real"!
ReplyDeleteExcellent advice Rosalie! I think it's also good to prepare food/meals/snacks ahead of time. I like to cook an extra portion to either freeze or take to work for lunch. I always have little snack bags to grab with raw veggies, nuts, or "treats" like measured amounts of veggi straws or cheeze-its. With your help I'm now down a total of 57 pounds and only 60 left to go! Thanks Rosalie

Great advice! I dont follow the no carbs in the evenings or no eating after 7pm though.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have taken more pics-but I have a few that are a reminder of where I don't want to go again!! They're great motivators.
ReplyDeleteThese are great reminders, and I am always thankful you invited me to our blogging community.
Can't seem to get logged in with my name so I'll have to do the anonymous thing for a bit I spose, til I can figure this out. Anyway, my name is Sandi and I'd like very much to follow this blog and share with others. I recently lost 47 lbs doing the HCG diet, but then gained about 20 of it back. I just simply could not sustain that way of eating long term. Then I found this plan. I started this way of eating on Monday Jan 2. weighing in at 217. I only count my weight on Mondays but I still weighed today and came in at 208. So that's 9 lbs gone in 12 days. I'm lovin this food and the recipes I've tried so far. I'd love to catch up on your posts, recipes, etc... and offer a few of my own when I figure some things out. :))
ReplyDeleteVery new to this life style and had some questions that might be concerned redundant, but I feel the need to ask regardless :P In order for this Belly Fat Cure to work do you have to do the 7 day meal plan? I do not have the funds to go out and buy everything needed for say the carb lover plan, however I do follow by the Carbs and Sugar points list in the back? (Was a huge milk drinker now I LOVE unsweetened almond milk) Will that suffice for results? I do have more energy and clothes fit better but I'm worried I will not have extreme results...please let me know. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am starting this week and I found your blog.. so I really appreciate the newbie tips.
ReplyDeleteWhat about people who work night shift? My breakfast is at 5PM.
ReplyDeleteJust try to be done eating you dinner at least 3-4 hours before its your bedtime :-)
