Year 2, Tuesday wk 5 on the Belly Fat Cure

Good morning,

I hope everyone had a great start to their week yesterday! If not, today is another day. Just brush yourself off and get your ass up and keep going people! Don't let little things like your weight get you down and think that this does not work.

I am living proof that it definitely does!

Nobody knows better than me how depressing it is when we are working so hard to lose weight and then it stays still or even goes back up. It happens to me all the time in the past year. Check my weight loss progress page.

OK - so here's my point of all this.

I know many of you are having trouble with losing. You follow the BFC to the letter and still not going down as fast as you would like. Thru the past year I never quit even when I wasn't going down.  What I did was just try to find different things that I could eat and do it a little different.

I found out that a great breakfast is the most important thing. EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST! Don't skimp. Eat at least 1 grain carb w/your breakfast. That will really help you to a good start for your day.

So I woke up this morning and I weighed 157lbs. I can't believe it - that's the smallest I have ever been in over 20 years. I am one step closer to my 150 goal.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 scrambled eggs w/ cheese, mushrooms, artichokes, 2 turkey bacon cooked crispy and crumbled in the eggs, and a scoop of cottage cheese and my coffee w/clear benefiber, truvia, powdered cream, cinnamon, and all my vitamins and Reslina.
lunch; spinach salad w/ 1/3 raw zuchinni and mushrooms cut up, feta cheese, artichokes, avocado, and chicken breast w/ Newman's olive oil and vinegar dressing. Then I had about 5 josephs sugar free chocolate and mint cookies.
dinner; halibut fish with a little lemon and butter and salt and pepper w/ some broccoli, 6 asparagus, and 2 squares of Lindt 85% chocolate and some white and chocolate RediWhip in a bowl.

I am not gonna eat like that every day. I need to eat a few of grain carbs a day to make me feel like I not being deprived. The thing is not to let yourself get real hungry.

Thanks for listening and have a great day! Lots of love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.
First decide what it is that you want, and then let it flow as naturally as a flower growing and blossoming into a brilliant colour.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Eating grain carbs is a choice. Not eating them will not necessarily make you feel deprived. Everyone is different and should do what feels right for them. And, I agree, whatever you eat, the trick is not to become overly hungry. It takes practice to tweak every diet to work for you. Congrats Rosalie, you have certainly done it! And, today's menu looks delicious, lol.

  3. Hi Rosalie...first off you look fabulous, i've been out of commission for a couple months now recovering from a hysterectomy. I also wanted to express my sympathy on the loss of your father. It's great to check back after so long and look at all the progress our sisterhood has made. Today is my one year anniversary on the BFC and am at a loss of 49.7 lbs. with my weight being 158.3. So you can post that!! I too have never given up. Last week we were on a family vacation to Florida and i did great. I actually lost a pound when we got home!! For the first time i used your 2 bite rule when my daughter had this lucious looking chocolate cake and it was amazing!! I had ice cream almost everynight sweetened with Splenda(i know very very bad) and i paid for it when i got home. I had those nasty withdrawals...dizziness, drowsiness and just felt like shit!!! And it really made me crave the carbs, what nasty stuff, today, i finally feel better. Thanks for all your words of encouragement and congradulations on your weight loss!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
