Easy Donuts

Ingredients (makes 6-8)
  • 1 cup  almond meal/flour
  • 3 tbsp  Natures Hollow maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
Instructions
  • Preheat your oven to 300F
  • Grease your donut pan and set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, mix together all of your ingredients until smooth.
  • Fill your donut pans with your mixture, filling each donut cavity 1/2 way full.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, keeping an eye on them and taking them out as soon as your donuts are cooked and a skewer inserted into the middle removes clean. Be sure not to overcook them as they'll dry out!
  • Allow to cool before removing from the tins and eating as is or topping with whatever your heart desired (stay tuned for more recipes!)
  • These donuts will keep in the fridge or at room temperature for 3-4 days stored in an airtight container. If you live in a really humid climate I'd suggest keeping them in the fridge so that they last longer, however, they will keep fine at room temperature if it's not too hot!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
