Sunday of week 34: The Belly Fat Cure

Good morning everyone :-)

I know sometimes I sound like a broken record but, I really do feel so great since I started the BFC. Even though it has been over 7 1/2 months, I am continuing to loose weight. It is a lot slower now but I'll take it. I am really hoping that I can still get down to my goal weight of 150 lbs by the end of this year. If and when I succeed at this - I WILL HAVE LOST 88 LBS. All by my self!!

Yesterday hubby and I were at Kohl's just looking around. I was trying on bras because all mine are too big. I was 40DD, now I might be 36 or 38 DD. He said " you are not DD any more, they got smaller". I held up a bra over my clothes and showed him it was the number that went down not the cup. Well anyways, I didn't get any because I wasn't really absolutely sure what size to get now. I know this bra shop I will check out sometime soon.

So I was looking at the sale racks and found 2 pairs of pants to try on. One was jeans size 12. They slipped on real easy with a lot of wiggle room. A little big actually. They other was a pair of thin sweat pants and it said size 8-10. Hubby said try it on I think it will fit. I came out of the fitting room and said, "It's official - I really feel skinny now" !! They actually fit but I didn't get either one cause of the price. I don't want to waste money while I am still loosing.

Yesterday Mary said how isn't it funny how we aren't doing anything different and we continue to loose weight. I definitely agree. Every week that I continue to go down - I am totally surprised.

She was also asking about the effects that menopause is having on her. She said the Estrogen might be causing her to not loose. She is also having real bad hot flashes. If anyone is having the same problems - please share your remedies with us. I am 51 but still have my periods. I have had the hot flashes at night for a while.
Currently every morning I take: multi-vitamin, calcium w/vit. D, black cohash, evening primrose oil, fish oil, 2 probiotics, barleans, and Reslina (which will be available to the public very soon.)
I feel pretty good with these, but they are a lot to swallow if you are wimpy. As you have read in my blog, occasionally I get the sudden dramatic drop in my hormones. I feel like someone stepped on my soul. I have noticed it happening lately sometimes.

Don't forget to leave your info for our year end goal chart to the right, and please support all of my BFC friend's blogs below.

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.
My thought for the day;
Right actions for the future are the best apologies for wrong ones in
the past.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. CONGRATS ROSALIE!!!! Woo Hoo!!!! As far as the hormones are concerned... while I was still peri-menopausal (still with periods) I started having the hot flashes and started taking Estroven regularly. (not extra strength) This has helped me to transition now to menopause (no periods for 1 year or more) and now I take the Estroven Plus Energy which also has green tea and such to help with energy. They are packed with good vitamins for women such as B's and D's as well as soy and black cohosh for sweats. I am not on any other hormone supplements or replacements. As long as I am faithful..I feel great! One day missed and I can feel a difference. Hubby says he's gonna buy stock in company so as not to EVER run out!!! lol Hope this helps Mary and others also!

  3. thanks to your input, I feel validated that someone hears me. You are the answer to my prayers. I was wondering if anyone had problems with losing while taking estrogen. I was really curious to see if it is all in my head or what? Rosalie, thanks so much for hearing my prayers and just for letting me know that (you) do care and I thank God everyday for your blog. It has inspired me and made me feel worthwhile. To all the older women who need a voice!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
