Tuesday of week 18:

Today I am feeling really bad. My weight went back up to 203.5 this morning. A few days ago I was 200.5. Anytime that any of us gain instead of loose, we always tend to be real hard on ourselves. It makes me feel depressed and like a temporary failure. I haven't done anything different at all. I am not consuming that many carbs, maybe 3 max a day.

So why does this work so well for some, but for others like me its so hard. I read on Jorge's fan page on facebook that this woman lost 56lbs and started the beginning of January. I started the end of January. 

The only thing is yesterday I didn't drink my protein shake with the psyllium husks in it. I usually have it between lunch and dinner.  No matter what I do, that seems to be the only way I can go #2. That is the main complaint I have with this diet. I have read allot of people have the same problem and probable why they don't loose weight as fast because they can't have BM's. 

Thats why I was asking yesterday - do you really think we can keep doing this forever??? If we every start eating normal again - will we gain it all back???

My thought for today: Even though I feel like just crying all day - I will still not give up. I am determined to get down to 150lbs hopefully by the end of this year!!!

  1. Hang in there Rosalie. I know you've got your eye on the prize, but try to focus on how much you have accomplished and how great you feel. Eventhough it is slow going and has bumps in the road, this is still your journey and one that only you can traverse. Acknowledge your emotion of disapointment, but don't let the emotion own you. Disappointments and bumps along the road are a part of life. But now we don't use food to medicate ourselves and to fill up a void.

    Yes, if we go back to eating "normal" then the weight will come back. The BFC is our new normal and the weight should stay off. However, obviously, there are different approaches out there that would allow eating differently and you always reserve the right to cross that bridge when and if you ever see fit. You do not need to be married to any one approach. Appreciate what the BFC has given you and keep an open mind to what might work for you in the future.

    In the meantime, live in the present, focus on the positive, and remember to breathe.

  2. Hi, I just started the belly fat cure and I am having BM problems. Any other than psyllium husks, anything else help? Where did you get the p husks? Is it a capsle or powder? Does it have a taste? Is it fiber? please reply via email if you can amy.murphy@humble.k12.tx congrats on your progress

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
