Monday of week 10: Belly Fat Cure

So I have done the BFC for 9 weeks now. I have lost 22lbs so far and 5" off my waist and hips ea. My pants are much looser instead of skin tight. I feel great but no real weight loss this week. I keep seeing these Jenny Craig commercials with movie stars saying how they lost 36 lbs in 10 weeks blah blah blah and wonder why I am not losing it faster. I'm sure I am not alone in thinking this is slow. I'm sure it is because Jorge's book says you can lose between 4-9lbs a week doing his plan. It says so right on the front cover right?? So I guess that is what we expect.
So what should I do about it? I am not sure. I am not a workoutaholic. That is why we are doing it this way right? I love to walk very fast with my 2 dogs every day, but that’s about it. I know I should exercise more - but I've heard Jorge say if you try to exercise too much in the beginning, you will burn off too many calories and want to eat more. So I am kind of at a standoff in my own head. ha-ha!

I really don't mind eating less, I'm getting used to it now. And I don't know about you but - I am still having problems with constipation. Before I did this - I went every morning regular like clockwork.
I really like doing this. I feel like I am talking to a friend about my day.

Thanks for listening.... Please leave your comments.....

My thought for today: I am going to wish we will all wake up in the morning a pound lighter. Woo Hoo!

Keep on BFC ' n :-)

  2. Hey Rosalie! I am on week 2 of BFC! Lost 3 pounds in week one and hope for 3 more this week.
I am taking Amber's advice and trying to get in as much fiber as I can.
I enjoyed reading your blog! 22 pounds is fantastic and losing it slowly is the way to keep it off!

  3. Hi Rosalie-I think you are going great-22 pounds is a lot!
I think it is so important to get lots of fibre (and lots of water to go along with it). I have been averaging 40 grams of fibre a day for a few weeks. It makes a big difference-and I feel better ,and my intestines are thanking me too lol!! Have you tried the bran crispbreads? They are full of fiber(5 grams each and only 12 calories each! I hate the way the book (and other books too) promote such an unrealistic weight loss on the cover-it is not realistic and not healthy-losing it slower is better for you and people seem to have an easier time keeping it off when they lose slower. Keep it up, you are doing great!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
