You Don't want any Surprises.

Good Friday Morning Friends,

Still very warm over here. A little too warm actually. It makes you just want to stay inside with the AC on and do nothing.

I want you to know that I DO practice what I preach. I don't just pretend to be healthy. I am.
My weight is good. This morning it was 147.5. My 90lb mark was at 148 and when my son died it went to 145. I am so happy to make sure it stays no lower than 145 and no higher than 151. To me this is a perfect weight. Remember for us women to allow a few lb range to bounce between. That's just the way we are.

Yes I still weigh myself every day and night. I know I am a SPAZ - but when you lose this much weight, you will do any and everything in your power to make sure it stays off. FOREVER!

I don't want ANY surprises after 1 week and then see that I've gained 5 or more pounds and panic. Or go in the other direction like many do and say well I might as well eat this CRAP or that CRAP - I am up anyway. You can't think like that. You really need to make sure to nip it in the bud so-to speak. Keep track of what you are doing.

I know some try to sike themselves out by saying; The inches are going down so its OK. Seriously - if the pounds are not going down too then maybe its time to tweak what you are eating a bit. It doesn't have to be all at once or a bunch at once - slow is the best way to keep it off permanently.

Breakfast yesterday, a hamburger patty that hubby brought me on a bun (but took it off of course), eggs, 1 toast with coconut butter and berries.
I had to take Peaches to the vet to get those 2 stitches out and Mandy was having a hissy fit - going back and forth and whining, waiting for her sissy to come back in the room.
My lunch when we came back was turkey chili and 2 homemade corn tortillas with chia seeds inside. This was SO GOOD.
I felt like having a snack yesterday and made a smoothie in my Vitamix with water, 1 scoop of chocolate whey MRM protein powder, 2 strawberries and 1 tbsp of chia seeds - and ice of course.

I did manage to get a walk in even though it was hot. Came back and ate my dinner of a spinach salad and salmon.  Desert was some rediwhip in a bowl.
Daddy was late coming home and they were trying to patiently wait for him. Peaches was facing the garage door. LOL
And of course my daily dose of Chloe, my daughter sends me pictures on my phone every day.
Today my very best and oldest friend Charlene is getting married to her partner today. I am meeting them at the Registrars office in East LA. While I am not looking forward to the long drive alone - I am so happy for both of them. I will be the one Pretty-in-a-Pink dress.

Have a great weekend. This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. It is hot here as well, currently 90* at 12noon...ugh!

Thanks for sharing all your photos, I love seeing little miss Chloe, that smile is a-dor-able !

I am a slow loser but I am okay with that. I am learning how my body reacts to less sugar & less carbs. I am making WISER choices & feel so much better each passing day. I am tweaking my carbs, I am finding 6 servings is too much for me. Rosalie, how many carb servings do you eat per day ??

    1. I find that I don't need that many. Some days 1-2, and some days 3-4. You see what I eat cause I post pictures usually. :-)

  3. Technology nowadays is so great that your daughter can just snap a picture and text it to you! What a great way to stay close to both your daughter and your granddaughter!

Mandy is so cute waiting for peaches :)

Have fun at your friends wedding! Be careful in East LA! I used to have that area as my territory for work and it is ROUGH....but the doctors really liked seeing a young (I was only 26 back then) blonde female ;)

  4. enjoy the ceremony and the pink dress! I don't like surprises either - that's why I also weigh in daily. It's tempting when I know I didn't make the best choices, but I'm always happier knowing.

  5. I love your post today and I think it's a good idea that you always weigh in every day. I try to do that too. sometimes I'm happy and sometimes not so much! But onward I go!! Those tortillas look good. Are they better tasting than the store bought ones? Probablybavdumb question, but I have a pack that I bought and not loving them. XO!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
