Still Going Strong...

Hi All,

Well I really don't even know if anyone is left still doing the BFC. Sometimes I feel part of the only few. I don't see that many comments and I know some of you are having a hard time. We all start off doing the BFC -  but so many fall off and then try different things.

What ever you are doing you can still participate in our little bloggin community. If you are having a hard time - then let us know, maybe there is some words of wisdom that someone might have that will snap something in you head and really help.

On the house front, we are done painting for the most part - just have a little bit left. We decided not to paint 2 of the extra bedrooms for now - they don't look too bad. I already steam cleaned the carpets in there and the family room and the 4th bedroom we will use for an office. We still need to touch up all the white moldings throughout the house.

Everything right now all depends on Hubby. The other day his car broke down so he has to use mine. I am so mad I could just SPIT!! or worse LOL
I told him not to get that car - but does anyone ever listen to ME - OH NO!! He needs a new transmission - so ....Yeah.

My weight is still up a couple pounds, but Hubby and I are not sleeping at all - excited and so Tired I guess. We are both having problems keeping a regular BM schedule. Probably due to the constant running around and not eating at home like I usually do. I still eat as healthy as I always do.

I am running out of stuff. out of my homemade butter and nut butters. Maybe tomorrow I can find time to make some more.
My breakfast the past 2 days - Oh yeah I am running out of my healthy bread too.
Now ask me what I had for lunch and dinner - I just don't know. Oh yeah today hubby and I both had 2 chicken strips and some fried zucchini. Last night I ate a salad and some wings at home. Tonight maybe some broccoli and the last 2 of those zucchini fritters I made.

I am so happy to say that I have enjoyed 2 of my protein bites every night for desert since I made them a few days ago. My tummy thanks me cause I sure did miss them.

Ok well I need to go load the car with stuff. Every time we go over there - we try to take a load of whatever will fit in my car so it will be less for us in a week or so when we move.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  3. Sorry to hear about the car.

I wanted to pop in and say you R not alone. I was doing the BFC, until last week, life has gotten in my way. I also have a vaca planned next week, San Diego here I come. I won't even try to diet next week because I know myself to well. I do have a question 4 U, do you eat all 6 carbs servings? and do you not eat carbs at your dinner meal?

I am one of the people that posted on JC facebook page about not being happy with the New 100. he should have called it the 25, because it is only 25 carbs.

I like Jorge, I really do, but I have all the diet books and for him to say this new book isn't at all like Atkins, who does he think he is fooling. At least on all other lowcarb plans you can deduct fiber from the carbs, so you actully get more carbs then Jorge allows you. Sorry for the rant, I went on BFC, because I wanted somewhat of a normal way of eating/dieting, bread, fries etc.

I read your blog from time to time, just don't post often.

    1. Well he sent me a copy of his new 100 book and I was NOT interested at all in any way shape or form. I am an original BFC'r and always will be. No I don't eat all 6 servings of carbs - and we really don't need to if it doesn't fit in our day. I never eat carbs with dinner and havent from the first 2 weeks into this lifestyle.
Eat healthy on your vaca - don't go crazy or you will be sorry after.
      Have a great day :-)

    2. Thanks Rosie,

In the BBF book he made it sound like you should eat all 6 carb servings. That is a lot of carbs. I noticed you eat bread almost daily with your breakfast. Do you eat carbs at just Br and ln only? I have been eating 1 serving at breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner too. I think I need to cut out the dinner and stick with veggie carbs only..

Jorge is going to get a backlash with this book, the shows I've seen him on, he clearly says when ask "Yes the recipes are in the book" and they are not. I love the BFC book lost of recipes and pictures.

      Thanks, Debbie

    3. I have been eating a lot of toast for breakfast lately because I am in the process of moving and its the easiest. I usually have 1 carb with breakfast and lunch and none with dinner - only meat and veggies.

  5. I just wanted to say that I look forward to reading your blog every day, even if I don't comment much. :-) I'm just not much of a commenter. I am back to doing the old-school bfc because that is what I've had success with in the past. It's amazing to me how, when I'm totally committed, I really don't crave stuff anymore, and I lost weight fairly easily (easier than with, say, Weight Watchers, that is!). It's definitely hard with a husband and child who don't eat the same way. Also, I had been a vegetarian for over 20 years, and have only recently begun to add chicken and fish to my diet, only because I'm finding myself somewhat sensitive to eggs and dairy and soy, which seriously limits my protein options! I'm hoping I can try eggs again sometime once my symptoms subside. I'm also confused about the 100 book. It seems really low-calorie, which doesn't really work for me. I'm enjoying the menu plans in "Practical Paleo" right now, even if I don't completely eliminate grains.
Anyway, just wanted to respond to your post and let you know that I'm out here, enjoying your posts! Oh - and I'm so excited to see more posts about your new house! May the ghosts be gone! :-) Jill

  6. Also meant to say that I'm a little concerned about the two glasses of wine idea in the 100. As much as I'd love to, drinking that much on a regular basis certainly doesn't help me lose weight. I know he says not to if you're not losing weight, but it's on the menu for every single day, isn't it?

    1. listen I do like wine just like the next person but if you're trying to lose weight and if you read my blog before you know I don't believe in two glasses of wine every night if you're trying to lose weight its fattening so you do what your heart is telling you don't listen to another book because they're not going to always be right.

  7. I am going to start this lifestyle tomorrow. I have a question - I don't like wine. I like whiskey. Can I have that on this plan?

    1. I don't know the s/c in whiskey - but all alcohols are fattening and should only be drank in moderation.

  8. I found your site and have been following you for awhile. I like your concept about weight loss - your commitment to your lifestyle and how you encourage everyone. I prefer Jorge original BFC book and I had lost weight on it before..I do know that I feel better when I intake less carbs and sugars.
I started out at 242 and now at 221 - I am 5feet 5.5 inches and 65 - work full time and would like to be healthy and look good in my clothes!! So, thank you for your encouragement and I will keep following you. I need to keep motivated as I want to lose about 60 more pounds.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
