Good Riddens...

Hi Friends,

My breakfast yesterday was eggs with spinach and I made 2 homemade corn tortillas with some chia seeds inside. I used the middle grill on the viking stove in our new house - it worked great.
After Breakfast I went over to the old house to clean it and guess what? Hubby came with me to help. Even though he worked nights he cleaned up the garage and outside and I cleaned the inside. I did not shampoo the whole carpets, just the high traffic areas. We were done in no time.

We ran around and the next thing I knew we were hungry - it was lunch time. Believe it or not we wound up at The Hat. A place that is widely known for their pastrami sandwiches and burgers and wet fries (with gravy). I ordered a tuna sandwich on a bed of lettuce instead of bread and ate half and a few of hubby's fries dipped in the gravy.

I went for my first walk on Tuesday in the new neighborhood and stayed to the main streets. I saw 2 neighbors that told me about their experiences with coyotes and warned me. I am scared I have to tell you about those critters for my furry girls. So yesterday I walked with a BAT hubby gave me, 2 dogs and poopie bags and my keys and phone in my pockets. LOL

Last night I ate some wings and a salad for dinner and some berries and rediwhip for desert.

Today my breakfast was My Alpine Valley 12 grain toast with my homemade chocolate-hazelnut butter, eggs with kale and goat cheese.
At 10am Hubby and I went to the old house and met an agent there to have a walk thru and give them the keys, remotes the the cards to get into the gate. Good Riddens!! Not going back there any more.

We still don't have word about the insurance problem. Hubby and I ran a few errands then wound up at Victoria Gardens and ate lunch at the tokyo grill place in their food court. I had chicken and veggies - no sauce.

We got home and hubby promised he would hang the curtain rods for me - at least in the bedroom.
Well  I have to cut and sew the bottom cause they are about 1 & 1/2 feet too long, but at least I can have privacy tonight. Yup I'm a sew-er - I made these a long time ago.

Look at these adorable new lamp shades I got at this place called the Alley for only $5.99 each. They don't look quite as pink in person as they do in the picture. They kind of match the curtains.
Well no walk tonight cause I was warned not to go out when it gets dark with the dogs and I have to wait for this lady to come over to buy my shutters that came off the sliding doors.

Maybe in the morning.

Have a good day. This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. That looks like a great stove! How cool to have a built in griddle. Cute lamp shade.

Don't think I've ever had goat cheese. Does it have a strong flavor?

  2. Funny you talked about the griddle. I have one too, but mine is a Thermador. I never really seasoned it, and was just watching a you tube video on how to season and it was done on a viking grill. The chef said it should never look shiny and new, but kind of like a seasoned cast iron pan. Mine has a cutting board cover which hides it. Also I was thinking maybe you should get some pepper spray and one of those loud personal alarms just in case you come in contact with a coyote. That would scare them off I bet! So glad you are getting settled in. You sound happy! Yay! XO!

  5. I was going to also suggest pepper spray/mace. Maybe a can of wasp/hornet spray would be good as it's not as much of thin stream and contains more. Be easier to carry than a bat - ha ha! You could use a cross-body bag to carry it even. We live in the country, have no dogs, but plenty of wolves/coyotes/bears/moose. They're my excuse for not walking out here. Heck, even the deer have been known to charge.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
