My Break Down...

Hello Friends,

Well I reached my breaking point yesterday and had a nervous BREAK-DOWN!! I'll get to that in a minute.

I just want to say that I write this blog to hopefully inspire and help anyone that wants or needs to lose weight. To let people know that no matter what age you are, If I can do it - SO CAN YOU!!

I never try to talk anyone into my way of eating or try to bring them to my side and be like me. If they want to - I am here to do anything I can to help them achieve their goals too and for free mind you. That's ALL.

As far as the Wheat Free thing - I am sharing my opinion that I DISAGREE. I have never called anyone a liar or an idiot - I just disagree and I have that right. No matter what anyone says I will not be swayed to feel otherwise unless I choose to. OK? Done then...

So yes I did like the peppermint mocha tea.

I started my day with breakfast, I really still can't stand that bread but just can't get myself to throw it away.
I decided to clean and make myself usefull so I vacuumed, and cleaned the bathrooms. I got a little frustrated cause while I was vacuuming Olive ran into the other bedroom where she was hiding under the bed. The door is usually shut so the dogs won't go in there. She wouldn't come out and I wound up screaming at her - UGH!

When I vacuum the canister is usually full of dog hair. They are furry especially the RAT. I know you would think it would be the big ones, but not so. She shakes all the time and get her RAT hair all over the place.

I roasted some hazelnuts in the morning in the oven to get them ready to make some butter.

My lunch was 2 small Smart and Delicious wheat tortillas with cheese and turkey and avocado and some 1g of sugar creamy italian dressing.
I peeled the skins off the hazelnuts.

Went out back and cleaned up what seemed like mounds of dog Poop. Can't do it when its been raining for many days. Then I cut the back grass.

Came in and made my Chocolate-Hazelnut Butter. This I think is BY-FAR my favorite flavor. It tastes so different and kind of coffee taste - a tiny bit- I did add a few drops of stevia. recipe here: http://purplerosy.blogspot.com/2012/08/homemade-chocolate-hazelnut-butter.html
I know my taste bud have changed so much cause I recently bought some Adams peanut butter which I have bought many times in the past and which has only 1g of sugar per serving. I don't like the flavor anymore at all. I prefer my home made ones instead now.

The furry girls and I went for a almost 2 mile walk it was beautiful weather and I needed to get out of the house.

I came back and made some *Almost Sugar free Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies*. This time I added some crushed walnuts and unsweetened coconut flakes. Ate one - had to taste them. LOL

So here's where I fell apart...

I forgot to tell you that yesterday morning while watching the news in bed around 7am and hubby was at work day shift already, Olive raised her head up and I sat up - we heard foot steps coming down the hall.

I am not used to living in a small, older place like this. Don't get me wrong I appreciate everything I have - but this place is getting to be too much for me to handle.

Remember I told you that its also infested with crickets? Since we moved in 3 and 1/2 months ago I have killed hundreds of them - well first I have to catch those fast little fuckers. I have had my bug guy come out twice and they just laugh at him.

So the bugs and the ghosts and my son died 3 weeks after we moved in -  I am reaching my limit.
I got a spinach salad after I made the cookies and sat on my chair and started eating it and waited for Hubby to come home. He said he would pick up 2 steaks and we can eat them when he gets home. I looked down and there was a tiny white worm on my chair I was sitting on.

I started Hysterically crying and yelling. I couldn't eat the salad anymore - went thru every crack on the chair - threw away the pillow that was on the chair - went to the bathroom and took off all my clothes and put on PJ's in case it came off of me -

I was still crying Hysterically - went to the kitchen and looked thru everything I touched or used during the day to make sure nothing had worms. Even the dog food and their treats.

I called Hubby who was on his way home and I was crying so hysterically he almost couldn't understand me. I completely lost it!! By the time he got home I was calmer - it took me almost 1 1/2 hours.

Today is garbage day and after the back yard cleaning I pulled the trash cans to the front and we decided it was probably from my clothes from that.

He brought home some pork chops and grilled them under the broiler and I ate one with a small glass of red wine which I felt I really needed. After I ate one more cookie and some RediWhip.

I don't feel much better today. I never sleep anymore and the past week keep getting woken up many times at 3ish am.  My eyes are so puffy I look terrible.

Anyways I could NOT even wait to eat some of my homemade Chocolate-Hazelnut butter on my much missed Oasis toast. It was worth the over-night wait I must say...
Well that's it - I hope you all have a better day than I did.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. My comment yesterday was a "knee jerk" reaction and for that I am sorry Rosalie. I consider you my "cyber friend" and you have been a tremendous inspiration for me on my journey. I started out with the BFC but continued to read and educate myself on the actual science behind why the BFC works. Even though I technically follow more of the WB dietary guidelines they are SO similar to BFC that I feel like we are all on the same page (most days). The wheat issue goes well beyond weight but that's a long one ... If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't have taken the time to share my feelings with you. I wanted you to know that when you do those posts they hurt me (maybe I’m too sensitive). You use works like "hate" and I don't understand. I don’t agree with flip flopping every other week to find what works for you but I don’t see why someone shouldn’t try giving up wheat for a good test and see if they feel better or their cravings diminish (like mine did). I still enjoy your daily posts and love to see what you’re eating (wheat and all … lol). I hope you have a better day today :)

  2. I think that is what's so great about blogging, it's open for everyone to read what the blogger wants to say. And it's open for comments... You can read it if you want, you can comment if you want to. You can follow WB, WW , BFC and any other food plan that is out there and someone somwhere is going to disagree. That's life when you put yourself out there. I love reading Rosalie's blog to see what she is eating, sometimes I say yuck, but that's OK, I just don't eat it. But I really enjoy hearing about her life. Keep up the blogging PurpleRosy! ♥

  3. Sigh. I was wondering how long it would take for a 'melt down'. And honestly I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner!! Soooo...I'm going to ask, because i don't remember the answer...why won't you go to the doctor about the insomnia??? Suffering is unnecessary these days!#

  4. Rosy, your blog is a GOOD THING. Anyone who visits this blog needs to understand it is YOUR OPINION, just like you said. The internet is not a democracy and you can control access to your information. If someone wants to be a troll on your blog, please BLOCK THEM! You have every right to do that.

  6. The verdict is still out on Wheat Belly for me....seems everytime I try to follow it I end up having a total bingefest. Whether it works on symptoms other than celiac would be news to me because I just can't seem to maintain that lifestyle. I did great with BFC and think that is my best option (as it is for Rosie). I can't be restricted too much or I binge, which I don't want to get back to that place because I used to have a hard time with that (as in eating disorder). I totally get the breakdown....worms are NASTY!!!!! I bet it was exacerbated by the lack of sleep. I know I used to say melatonin was the answer (it's not) and then 5-htp (not either, but better than melatonin). Now I"m on Valerian from Walmart and I think it works the best. It won't counteract all the tea I had for lunch yesterday, but it seems to have gotten me the most sleep. You know if you go to the doctor, they will give you rx meds, right? I just rebound on rx meds....Haha....this coming from a pharmaceutical rep :)
Good luck with the sleep! If you find something that works, let me know, but as of now valerian works best for me :)

  7. Lets not get nasty. They are grown women and can sort this out on their own in their own way. Name-calling is totally inappropriate.. Trina and Rosalie are both so important to me, and its totally unacceptable to insert yourself into their disagreement. I will not be part of any blogging circle that participates in this kind negativity. Stress releases cortisol and last time I checked I thought that was the very thing we were trying to avoid! Love you both Trina and Rosalie.

  8. I am sorry about the worm and the not sleeping! If a worm was sitting on me I am sure I would have freaked out too. I wish you would try and find out why you can't sleep. There may be a medical reason, and it may be emotional. Even though you are still having your period, it could be hormonal too. I simply can't imagine not getting a good nights sleep. I really am proud of you for sticking with your food even when you feel like you are ready to go mental! Just keep being you:)

  9. You have a point LA. OK, I won't comment again.

Second to stress/cortisol. I'm in a job I don't like right now, my adrenals are not well and since I strayed from BFC, I've been overconsuming diet pop AND sugar. A recipe for disaster that makes me jumpy and all full of cortisol. You're totally right...Rosy is a big girl. She doesn't need me to defend her. And I need to eat better. I appreciate your response.

  10. I apologize LA for upsetting you - certainly NOT my intention. Obviously apologize to Waterlilly too since my comments prompted her to react so negatively. I know Rosalie does this to help people and my comment was just to point out that I take my wheat free journey seriously (it's not about a miracle weight loss diet for me) and Rosalie always seem so negative about WB (which I don’t really understand – but that’s my problem I guess). I WILL, however, learn to grow a thicker skin :) Rosalie knows I value her blog and appreciate all she does for everyone (each one - on their own unique journey). Onwards and upwards!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
