My 2 Favorite treats...

Hello Friends,

Boy its so sad that every time I turn on the TV all I see and hear is about the school in Ct. It is just so sad. We are not in the Christmas mood over here at all. No tree up or decorations knowing that we are gonna move sometime in the near future, and my son passing - we just don't want to. Besides did I say I am Jewish? But hubby isn't so we usually put up a tree.

My breakfast this morning was toast (had to buy the Mahlers-Sprouts was out of Oasis my favorite) with my Chocolate-Hazelnut-butter, real eggs, not the egg whites this time and berries.

Right now these are my 2 very favorite treats that I make. I am completely hooked and can eat them every day.
I don't know why but I just love the flavor of that Chocolate-Hazelnut-butter. Every time I open the fridge and see it I just want to eat some. I am glad I have the will power now.

I have the same problem with the protein bites. Just once a day for both of these babies for me. I just made a new batch yesterday and BOY they came out good. I always cut them up into squares and put them into 3 containers and put 1 in the fridge and 2 in the freezer.
Look how good I cut them this time even with my ET's.

My lunch; Yeah I know it looks a little weird but it was good. 2 small smart and delicious wheat tortillas with mozzarella cheese, jalapenos, avocado, turkey pepperonis and salsa.
I tried to do little stuff around the house then around 3pm me and the 3 furry girls went for our daily walk. 2.13 miles today. It was cloudy and cool so I bundled up in a coat and scarf - WHAT? A coat in California?  I know I'm rubbing it in a little.

When I got back I had 3 stalks of celery and some hummus for my snack and for some reason I still felt like I was missing something so I had 2 squares of Lindt 85% chocolate. Better :-)

Hubby is working days this week so I really need to find a way to stay busy so my mind doesn't wander too much into sadness.

Well I have to go find something for dinner now, hubby will be home soon. Have a nice day tomorrow.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. i love those protein bites a little too much. One of these days I'll make them again, and I think I'll use your little trick and put them in three containers. Sounds like it might help

  2. Nice job on the protein bites! I can cut them in my sleep now (a GREAT deal of practice) ... lol. That news was terribly sad and came at a time when I was feeling stressed - my husband said it always puts things in perspective ... which it did.

  3. mmmm....I think I must make me some of the hazelnut choco heavenly treat!
...It's okay not to get into the season. it's a good just to be in the moment. You need to build your energy and decorating doesn't do that :-) Making protein bites and nutbutters does LOL :-) Be good to yourself!

  7. I love the change of seasons here in Colorado but I so miss the California weather (which is where I grew up). We are expecting a blizzard tonight - Brrrrr!! LOVE those protein bites as well and love your idea of how you store them.

  8. Thanks for always commenting on my blog. I have been using google reader and don't know how to comment on it without going to each blog directly. I have been thinking of you. This will be a hard time of year for our family too without Beth. Please don't think I'm being too forward, but I found a link on a funeral home website ( the one we used for Beth's funeral) tha gives you 365 days of grief support daily affirmations. They are short and to the point, and I find them very helpful and comforting. Maybe you will too. To check it out go to http://www.jamesterryfuneralhome.com/. At
the bottom right you will see a spot to sign up to get them delivered each day to your email. Wishing you some peace and happiness....and some sleep too! Sending love and hugs! XO

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
