Happy Holidays to you.

Hello Friends,

Happy Holidays to you all.

It's been raining on and off the past week or so over here. I have still been getting my walks in with my 3 furry girls each day except for the days I am not here.

Yesterday we had lunch at one of my favorite places - Chipotle. I had a salad with black beans, chicken, hot salsa, cheese, sour cream and guacamole.

Saturday we went to see Silver Linings Playbook. I can see why he was nominated for a award. He was GREAT! We went at the Ontario Mills Mall and went in after to walk around. It was a Mad House with a zillion people.
 Hubby has been home with me Saturday, Sunday and today, then he will be working a lot of OT at work doing nights many days in a row. He has agreed to eat breakfast with me of whatever I eat which was a surprise to me cause he never does.

Saturday, 1 slice of toast, turkey bacon, eggs, and berries.
 Sunday, toast with cream cheese and natures hollow.
 This morning, Monday my three flour pancakes with a few blueberries in each with Natures hollow syrup.

I finally got some of my Favorite Oasis low-carb-sprouted flaxseed bread yesterday at sprouts. Last night I had a little red wine and what-do-ya-know my weight is up this morning. I always have said that you CANNOT have wine every night. It is fattening. I feel you must give up something in return which I did not do. I had a spinach salad, some buffallo wings and the wine, maybe 2 small glasses. But I still had Desert of 2 Protein bites and some RediWhip. Maybe if I would have not had that my weight would be fine.

Tonight I am supposed to go and have a Christmas Eve dinner with Maria, Lisa and Maria's niece-Ana and her Husband Cesar. You all know I am not in the Christmas spirit at all but I love visiting with Ana and Cesar. They are Maria's Family and I feel like they are my family as well.

Tomorrow on Christmas day we usually go over to Hubby's Moms house and everyone comes over there, but Hubby has to work night shift and I just don't want to go. I might stay home by myself. I don't really want to celebrate, I just don't want to give or get any gifts. I am not being Depressed - its just how I feel.

What every you do tomorrow or who you are with - I hope you all have a great day. And try not to over eat too much of the bad stuff. Remember to just take a few bites.

  2. Merry Christmas! I agree that if you want to drink, you have to give up other stuff. You can't eat treats and drink. The drinks ARE the treat. Hope you have a great day tomorrow!! xoxo

  4. Rosalie, gifts or no gifts, I hope you decide to spend your day with your hubby's family. Sometimes when we don't want to go do something but push ourselves to do so anyway, we feel so much better after the fact.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
