Visiting with the girls...

Hi Friends,

It is warm over here again - we had cooler 80-85 weather for about 2 days now its gonna be 95 and maybe higher for several days. Still waiting on the house - I am starting to possible think that maybe not.

The other day Hubby's sister who lives up north came down and is staying his mom's house in Pasadena. She had a conference or something to go to for 2 days here so yesterday we went over to his mom's to visit the girls. I miss them and only get to see them once in a while, usually on holidays.
This was my breakfast yesterday, 3 pancakes w/natures hollow, turkey bacon, avocado, and a few black and blueberries.

I packed some stuff in the car for my lunch and stuff so us girls could paint our nails. All of a sudden my windows in my 3 month old car would not go up or down, so on the way over there I stopped at the Hyundai dealer They fixed it - said a plug with wires came loose and I got an oil change while I was there.

Got up to see the girls and it was after lunch so I made the pizza quesadilla for me and one of the girls. The other one wasn't hungry.

I did eat a few walnuts and almonds later that I had in a baggie in my purse. The girls went swimming at his moms and Hubby BBQ'd some meat and I had a pc of steak and 1 small beef rib - no sauce of course and a very small salad.

We had a nice visit and brought the girls home with us to spend the night. I woke them up early this morning so we could eat a healthy breakfast and take the dogs for a long walk.

We left at 8:30 for our walk and it was real HOT already. We wound up going 2.75 miles in 1 hour and we were all sweaty when we got back. Hubby takes the absolute worst pictures.

It's around 10:30 right now and we are all cooled off and they are watching TV while I am doing this. I have to bring them back up to their grandmas in a bit.

Since I have decided to stop eating so many of those muffins in the mornings and eat the way I always used to - my weight is back down this morning to 149.5. That's only 1.5 over my low. I am getting it back down slowly over the past week.

So what lesson did I learn??  Like I said a few posts ago - If it Ain't Broke - Don't Fix it...

That my wheat tortillas and Oasis sprouted flaxseed bread is not MY enemy and there is nothing wrong AT ALL with eat them, even up to once a day.

  2. Im totally burn out on all those muffins I've been making, just the thought of making more flash, protein, almond , coconut, muffins just makes me gag. Today i had a pbnj! ahhhh! i think ill take a break from all the other grain free stuff. or ill puke! haves a good day!

  3. Funny, I was up this week and I blame the cheesecake thing. Although, my sleep has been horrible this week and my stress level is through the roof with my youngest who is over tired from camp and acting like his old difficult self. So who knows ... I may be unfairly blaming the cheesecake. It's probably hard to pinpoint exactly what does it but it's nice to know you turned it around so quickly. I'm with you and am back to my usual fare (which includes almond flour stuff and no wheat) and I too seem to be turning it back around. I also wasn't doing the shakes for quite a few days and that may have made a difference. When I have my shakes I seem to lose easier. Anyway ... super pretty girls :)

  4. I think we have the same shorts :0) ive been eating trader joes sprouted wheat bread instead of a muffin in the morning and the scale has started to move again. Why can't we all be the same? Why is dieting such a personal-trial-and- error kind of thing?

  5. Those girls are beautiful! What fun to have them overnight! I think your husband took a pretty good picture, you look so thin! In a way I think you are right about going back to what works. I do best with eggs in the morning and a salad with chicken at lunch. The muffins are nice though when I'm rushed.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
