Today is a New Day...

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope all you mothers had a great Mother's Day and the rest of you got to be with your moms. I sadly could not except in spirit. She has been gone for 10 years now. Hubby was on his way home yesterday from helping his sister move. She lives near Sacramento and he flew up there on Wednesday to help her and drove home with his 2 brothers. He said that was the hardest part LOL.

I spent the day alone yesterday. My daughter in Michigan sent me some flowers and called me in the morning.
My 2 sons called me during the day. It would have been nice if they would have made a minute for me - but at least they called.
My breakfast I made for myself yesterday

I packed some more, vacuumed with my new vacuum I bought for myself. I always wanted on of these and Yeah it was 20% off baby.
Shampooed the rug in the living-dining rooms, after moving the table I noticed some spots from back when Lisa's dog came over remember and peed all over the place. I didn't see it until I moved the dining table.

My lunch was a low carb bun I made w/cheese and turkey - and some Clemmy's for after.

Watched TV and was bored all day. Hubby texted me to meet him and his brother in the San Dimas area to pick him up around 6:30 and he wanted to go to IKEA (it was near by) because all of a sudden he like the stuff there now and never did before. He went there with his sister up north. We looked at sofas - remember we will have to buy a new one when we move.

Got home at 8pm and I had some turkey medallions and broccoli for dinner and 2 squares of 86% dark chocolate and RediWhip for desert.

Well we are supposed to hear today about the loan thing. Fingers crossed that we will get an awesome deal that we can afford.

Everyone have a great day and remember, whatever you ate wrong yesterday - today is a new day.

Thanks for listening. This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Imagination

Live out of your imagination, not your history

  4. Don't you just love the Dyson vacuum? If you vacuum everyday, you won't have to shampoo ever again.

  5. Hi Rosalie, Best of luck! I have to tell you, I'm a Miele girl but I'm glad you're thrilled with your Dyson :) Just an FYI about eggs, I read several places lately that scrambling eggs is the worst way to eat them. It damages the good cholesterol in the yolk. You are best to eat them raw (ugh no way) or second best is soft boiled (or I imagine soft poached). Just an FYI for you and others ;)

    1. I've read about this and they say it just loses some of its nutritional value when scrambled and not to do it all the time.

    2. I've actually read that it oxidises the cholesterol which can cause internal inflammation (that can lead to elevated blood cholesterol and other health problems). Like you, I read that you should enjoy them scrambled only occasionally but to get their full value eat them soft cooked (or raw). I didn't know that before so I've started eating my eggs soft poached :)

This is a snippet from an article by Dr. Mercola, "Chronic inflammation is actually caused by a laundry list of items such as:
-- Oxidized cholesterol (cholesterol that has gone rancid, such as that from overcooked, scrambled eggs) ...

  6. I'm an Oreck girl myself. I am on my 3rd one, but my daughter swears by her Dyson.
I am hoping that you hear very good news and you can move soon. Stress is not fun!
I have never been to an Ikea, but I love the things that I see people have bought there. My daughter says you can spend an entire day there and they have amazing cinnamon rolls? Just what we don't need!!!
    Thanks for being you:)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
