I Love it Here :-)

Hello Everyone,

I love it here - on the blog, Such a safe place. No matter how I feel, I post about it and there is always someone helpful or that says they are going thru the same crap. Some days I feel like absolute poop, I have a feeling some of it might be my age and that I will be going thru menopause any second now. Thank you who ever brought that up.

I've also been bumping heads a lot lately with; "he who shall not be named". LOL! (I know that has a ton to do with my mood too). He hates it when I talk about anything personal on here. But - hey - its my blog/Journal and I will say whatever I want.

I walk every day no matter how I feel. Mandy and Peaches kind of make me. The 3 of us really look forward to that time together and love it. He, never goes with us - too busy doing computer stuff or something. That's OK - The dogs are the best company anyways.
Yesterday 3 miles and today 2.6 miles.

Here's what I've been eating:
Breakfast Tuesday
Breakfast today (Wednesday)
Lunch Tuesday; a PB&J on Oasis bread and some veggie chips. (no pic)
Lunch Wednesday; some riced cauliflower in a bowl w/1/2 avocado cut up, a can of chicken, feta cheese, bacon bits and onion crumbles and 1 spoon of mayo. and some 99% dark chocolate w/ fifty/50 peanut butter on top.

Dinner Tuesday; was hubby's birthday and we went to Wood Ranch BBQ.
my dinner - salmon and asparagus
His dinner - stead and broccoli
I had 1 shrimp and 2 bites of his bread and we shared a bottle of Merlot. I never drink that much any more and have to admit  - I kind of got a little BUZZ.
I made hubby a chocolate-coconut muffin when we got home.

(tonight) Wednesday's dinner; shirataki noodles, meatballs, kimchee (spicy cabbage) and a bit of cheese on top.

This morning my weight was back down to 151 so thats only 3lbs over my goal. See - that's one of the main reasons that I do weigh-in every day. If I don't - I will never know if I am messing up or eating too much. That's just me :-) If I waited to the point when my pants don't feel right, I might be 10-15lbs up and that would be unacceptable!!

Well that picture of the muffin looks so good - I think I will go make myself one right now.

Thanks to the one and only person who used my tip jar. You ROCK!!

And check out Nutritional Earth's last blog post about SLEEP. (link above left)

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to you all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Face The Sun

Turn your face to the sun and shadows fall behind you.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Happy Birthday to your hubby!

Whenever my weight goes up a lot like that, I usually don't worry because I know I have not eaten enough to equal a 3-5 lb. gain so quickly. Usually that type of gain is fluid retention, so I just patiently wait for it to come back down on its own. Good thing you've learned not to panic when your number goes up like that.

I do hope you feel better overall though. I'm sure you're right about feeling like menopause is right around the corner; we know our bodies well enough to know that things are changing. I know going through menopause can be torture for some. Hopefully you'll get through it relatively easily. You and your husband both just need to remember that during this phase of your life, this is not real you, this is your hormones, and patience is top priority for both of you so that you can get through it without either of you taking anything too personally.

  3. You'll feel much better once that old menopause is finally finished. I went through it when I was 48 years old, although I think mood swings may plague us forever. Still have to try that chocolate coconut muffin - it looks wonderful.

  4. Do you have the recipe for that muffin anywhere? Looks really good :)

Rosalie, I have to tell you - I started the BFC about 6 weeks ago and in the process of "Googling" everything I could I found your blog. I weighed exactly 238 pounds when I started just like you (I am also 5’ 6-1/2” and my goal was to get to 150 lbs) so I feel you are my "kindred" BFC something or other (only difference is I am 42 turning 43).

I enjoy your posts - especially what you eat as I try and figure out this new lifestyle myself. I have found food to be really enjoyable again and I'm never hungry. I don't have too many cravings I can't control either - it's been great so far. Down 12-1/2 pounds in 6 weeks (I did do the 3 day extreme plan twice in the six weeks and lost more weight on those days than any other). I sure hope to be you in the distant future - thanks for sharing your journey!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
