I just cover it up

Hello Friends,

Today I had the pleasure in talking to one of our BFC friends on the phone. I am not gonna say who - Love ya girl! But if you want to say in the comment section you can.

Like many of us she was up about 5-6 lbs from her goal weight and is getting even more stressed about that.

So I just want to share some things we talked about and other stuff that might help you all.

She has been doing the FT for a while and you all know what I think about that subject!! - Well if you don't - I don't agree with it or like it much.

Most of us that have lost a ton of weight - did it by doing the original Belly Fat Cure. So that means with grain carbs. Don't get me wrong - as you see by the foods that I post, I do love to eat that way some days.

I have seen on those doctor shows and from comments from all of you - that is better to change it up sometimes. If you do want to eat FT just do it one day then the next day eat a whole grain tortilla or some Low carb BFC approved bread or 1/2 cup of brown rice. EAT SOME CARBS!!

Also there was a nutritionist on the news the other morning and she said that your bread or tortillas you eat should have the first ingredient that should say WHOLE wheat or grain. It should say Whole for it to be healthy. Just FYI.

Please don't let other people bring you down and tell you that you still look fat. I have come to realize that I am 53 and will never have the body of a 16 year old ever again!! Yes I lost 90lbs - but my tummy and upper thighs will never be tight again.

I am OK with that now. I just cover it up with clothes. LOL. I am always looking at myself in the mirror and finding things wrong. So I just put my clothes back on and look again. Ha-Ha.

So find a way to Like yourself the way you are!! Flaws and all.

Know that once you reach your goal - You can NEVER go back to the way we ate before!! This is real important! You need to understand that and stick to it. I will always eat this way and usually have no problem staying within a 3lb variance. I go bet 148-151. I never worry about the 3lbs - I only did the once when I got 5lbs over and after a week I was back to 149.

I really love you all and want you all to succeed and reach your goal. Reach out here to one another and it will happen.

Here's what I have been eating:
2 Oasis toast w/peanut butter 1 sugar - 2 eggs and 2 turkey bacon and a few black berries.
Lunch; I made this bun thingy I saw on Pinterest. It is supposed to be 2 halfs like a bun - but I made into 1 bigger one and made a mini pizza out of it.

1 egg, 1 tbsp of Almond flour and 1 tbsp of coconut flout, 1/2 t of baking powder, pinch of salt, and 1 tbsp of chia seeds.

Mix together well and spoon onto parchment paper and bake 10 min at 350 and viola!! It was very good and I will definitely be doing that again.
dinner; some wings (not buffallo) I ran out darn. and some brussel sprouts and broccoli which is probably 3 grams of sugar FYI.
These could were chasing me and the furry girls today on our way back. I still had at least 1 mile to go and I was worried we would get poured on - but we made it.

Thanks for listening to me today and big hugs to you all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Grasp Nor Fear

  1. It was great talking to you. I felt much better getting off the phone. I did add grains back in today, and right now my headache I've had for the past two weeks is gone! Feels good getting my fiber up too! Thanks again. I enjoyed our talk

    2. You two ladies inspire me to really get on the BFC and stick with it!!! I've never commented before but I have 20 to lose and I have had that to lose for few yrs now, but what I do, is I switch back and forth between plans because not seeing losses I want on scale!!! I weigh everyday so maybe that's my problem. I need to stay on this plan for a full month and see what happens. I agree, FT is not for me, I prefer BFC so I will try for the month and see. It's the best plan I know of that can be lifestyle plan and I do believe that's key! Thank you to both of you for being so inspirational. I'm sure neither of you realizes just how many lives you both are touching :-)

      Love, D

  2. Always good advice and I am right there with you on what I think about FT. I do realize and respect those that simply can't eat wheat for health reasons. I am blessed not to have any food allergies....knock on wood...they come at any age!
Thanks for being you Ms. Rosalie:)

  5. I don't know what the recommended carb rang is with FT, but for myself I can't do low carb. I don't know if others know this, but if you have low thyroid it's important not to go too low in your carbs; staying around 80-100g a day is great! If you get too low in your carbs it can cause you to develop reverse T3. Since I can't eat grains because of my auotimmune disorder that means that I get more carbs from veggies, especially sweet potatoes, and fruit. I know this does up my sugars some with the added fruit, but since they are in the form of fruit I don't worry about it, especially because I don't eat much in the way of added sugar anyhow. I'm still feeling great and losing weight, so I think it all gets balanced out in the end.

I just wanted to throw that out there for anyone who has thyroid problems. Even if you can't do BFC strictly speaking, you can still watch your carbs and still keep your sugar as low as possible. It's definitely not a reason to throw your hands up and get lost in the sea of diets out there. Just tailor an already good "diet" as closely as possible to your needs. You're better off doing that than bouncing around from diet to diet trying to find the "perfect" diet because chances are, you aren't going to find that. If you have any health issues, any diet will ultimately need to be tailored to your needs, so you may as well stick with a good basic diet and go from there.

    1. I have thyroid issues. I jump from hypo to hyper. When I started bfc I lost 86 lbs in 6months and got my levels in normal range. Once I did ft now for 6 months I've had the shakes chronic headaches. And now this quick 5 lb weight gain, my t3 I'd off as well!! I'm went back to grains yesterday and already feel better!

    2. "...it can cause you to develop reverse T3."

I just want to clarify...I meant to say that you can develop excessive amounts of rT3. The body normally creates rT3, but when something throws the thyroid levels off, excessive amounts of rT3 can result, which causes a lot of problems.

  6. Good info, Minichick! I take thyroid meds (low doses)and my TSH is relatively normal, but my T3 was off. Anyhow, I do so much better eating carbs and not doing FT. I set myself up for binges when I don't allow myself the carbs (or anything I enjoy for that matter). Great advice Rosalie and I will have to try the bun for my pizza :)Enjoy this rainy Friday the 13th :)

I agree with all of you - and I forgot to say that you need to put some butter in the bun.

  9. I'm 51 and will never have the body of a 16 year old either! I love your attitude! I think I well take your advice this weekend and add in a few carbs. This morning will be french toast with the Ezechiel bread. Thanks Rosalie!

  10. Love that suggeston to mix up the low carb days with some carbs. I do have thyroid issues and I just don't do well without any carbs. I can do it for a day or two, but that's it. Then I think I crave them even more. Sending you love and hugs my friend.

  11. You are so practical. :o) I love reading your updates and know that if I'm having a bad day/week, disappointment with the scale, or feeling guilty for "cheating", I can turn to your blog for inspiration. I find myself going from diet to diet hoping for faster results when really, I just need to stick with it.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
