Use Your Smarts People...

Good Morning Friends,

You all leave such nice comments on here and I really appreciate it. I don't do this blog for At-A-Boys or anything, I do this for YOU. If there is anyway I can help you to lose weight and reach your goal like I have, I want to help. I don't work so I have the time.

I think a main part of how we all can be successful at this is with SUPPORT.

By sharing all the tips and tricks that we learn along our journey with others is how you will succeed. So when you find something awesome - SHARE IT!! So others will find it too. But use your smarts people and think for yourself. Just because someone says they eat something on the BFC doesn't mean you should too. Investigate first. Check the ingredients and labels and make sure it is BFC friendly.

Usually when something says DIET, "BE AWARE" there is usually an artificial sweetener in it like Sucralose. That is belly bad!! So check labels of everything you buy and make sure the ingredients are BFC good.

Another example is, just because Jorge says to put heavy cream or something in my coffee, I choose not to. I use the plain powdered coffee mate and always have. That and a turvia and cinnamon in my morning coffee. It has WAY less calories and I like the way it makes my coffee taste richer. That's just me.

Yesterday Dr Oz was on and he was saying that you can take a cheat day. I don't agree with that at all!! On the BFC that is not a good idea. You are gonna throw off your body and it will be harder for you to get beck on board and in the groove. You will defeat everything you did from the whole week.

Do like I have done from the beginning of when I started the BFC:
NOT every day - OK? But when you maybe go out to a nice dinner, or at a party, or a work function, or holiday... I have learned that you can find something BFC healthy to eat no matter where you go. Pick 1 thing that you really want to taste that is not BFC friendly. For me it is always a sweet. Then have bet 1-3 bites and then walk away. This way you get to taste it and you don't feel so different from everyone else. If you can't walk away then this is maybe not a good idea.

I still have to have my sweets everyday!! Yup even after over 2 years of doing this. That's why I try to keep finding stuff to make. yourlighterside.com posted on Facebook these lemon cookies made with almond flour that I am gonna try. If they are great like I think they will be I will post the recipe and picture of course so you can all try too.

Yesterday I ate;
breakfast;
The other 3 pumpkin pancakes I made the day before. Yeah - still awesome!

lunch;
One of my favorite things is pizza and I am so happy to still be able to eat it in a healthy way. This is a AMAZING cauliflower crust pizza w/seeds of change pasta sauce, mozzarella, turkey pepperoni and mushrooms.

snack after was some clemmy's ice cream.

I went for my walk like always. It was such a beautiful day over here it has been around 70 each day.
Sometimes we walk thru this hugh field and that group of trees to the left is like a mini forest we walk thru too. The dogs love it cause they smell stuff and look for critters hiding.

before dinner I had 1 of those shortbread cookies, they are so buttery and good to me.
dinner;
A piece of Tilapia with some butter and lemon and sea salt and pepper, and asparagus. I make everything easy as you know - so I make a foil pouch on a pan in the oven and put the fish and asparagus together for 45 min. Then I sauted some baby spinach. I LOVE the flavor of this!! I use EVOO in a pan, then add some fresh garlic, maybe 2 cloves. I use this little dish that I got at the LA county fair one year.
See the little pokey ridges?? You just scrape the fresh garlic on here and it mushes and then you use the brush to get it off in the pan. It works great!
So then I saute the mushed garlic for a min or 2 and then add the baby spinach. Add a lot cause it wilts down real small, then top with some sea salt. SOOO GOOD!!!

After dinner I had 2 Sinful Cinnamon cakes w/some chocolate unsweetened Almond breeze in my mug warmed up in the microwave.

Well that's all for now. Hubby is working days for a few days so I have to try to keep busy. Maybe I will go outside today in the back year and pull some weeds. Its so nice outside.

  1. It IS such a beautiful day out today. I went outside at 8:30 this morning and it was warm and the birds were chirping. I bet going outside would make you feel happy! :) Anyhow, I love the spinach suggestion. It sounds so good!!!

    Well said. I have a qiestion for you, hoping that you may know the Answer. this morning I decided to stick to the fast track by the book! I know that on the fast track, ive heard, he doesnt want us to use any dressings for salads, but vinegar and oil...Well, wat other things does he say? Does anyone in here have the FT book? I have beeen eating wheat free pancakes etc, but I want to bo by the book. So no more pancakes and also if he doesnt want any dressings, does that apply for all the sweetners like natures hollow jams? cream cheese? etc? Since they are pretty much a dressing for sweets! I saw his VIP FAST TRACK MENU, and he never mentions any of these! It is more like REAL food, eggs, veggies, olive oil, olives, greens...etc.

    please HELP ! THANKS! ANYD ANYONE WHO KNOWS PLEASE, I APPRECIATE IT!

    etc.... I know he says no grains like rice, wheat, barley,,etc. But i know theres more he doesnt want! I am trying to lose belly fat in time for valentines :)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
