This Journey of mine...

Hello Everyone,

I feel like I should talk about some things that I have learned along this journey. I always think of things then when it's time to blog - Duh - I forget.

You CAN actually lose weight by just changing what you eat. You don't have to count calories or fat. That is not necessary at all. I am not an exercise freak either.

It is Amazing and actually TRUE!!

I am living Proof!!

I know some of you are still doing the Fast Track. I feel its not great for some of us. I for one, get hungry when I eat no grains at all. I also feel it is meant to do for maybe 2 weeks at a time if you are gonna do it.

I do eat FT on some days, but in the next day or so I am eating a wheat tortilla or toast for breakfast. This morning for instance I ate:
Some black and blue berries, 1/2 avocado, and a omelete made w/sauted mushrooms, baby spinach, and asiago cheese. Notice the Mug?? HAHA

Amber wrote a post about Nicole, whom we both met when we went to San Diego where we met Jorge and did that video of us tasting Jorge's food. Click here for the link. She is actually lost most of her weight in 6 months. She is Fabulous!!

But for most of us that will not be the normal. I know that now and wanted to tell you that the thing on the front of Jorge's books that says; you can lose 4-9lbs a week is not a true reality. I lost 7lbs the first week, then 5 the next, then it slowed down.

So don't think you are doing something wrong if you don't have the same results. We are all different. I lost all my 90lbs by eating wheat and grains all the time. Not Fast Track. I did cut out carbs completely with dinner right from the start. That helped me tons. (but it was very hard at first)

Also, how Jorge is always pushing red wine and saying to drink 2 glasses a night. I feel that if you want to lose weight you Can't do that. At ALL!! You know that any alcohol is fattening, so that's not really a good idea. I just saved it for when we go out or at a party or something. Like once a week.

Those last 5-10lbs were the stubbornest.

The I discovered the coconut and almond flour. The last couple lbs came off easier. But not because it was Gluten free, but because the portions had much less sugar and carbs then what I was eating before. I LOVE my coconut bread (you can find on Recipes tab).

Gluten Free:
That has come up so much in the past year. I think it is actually confusing some in thinking it is bad for you. It is only bad for the people that are allergic  to Wheat Gluten, the ones who have Celiac disease. http://www.celiac.org

Don't get me wrong, Eat Fast Track if you want. PLEASE eat the coconut breads and almond flour cookies, but because you LIKE it. I just wanted to make it clear that I have lost my weight be eating wheat every day. I am not allergic and don't need to cut it out of my diet.

My lunch today;
2 Oasis bread, w/a can of chicken, mayo, feta cheese, avocado, tomato chopped up.
So I made this Lasagna dish using chopped cabbage instead of noodles.

I sauted some mushrooms, onions in EVOO, then added 1lb of ground turkey, cooked in same pot, added a can of green chilis (see in picture), Then I added maybe 1/2 cup of seeds of change pasta sauce and 4 small chopped tomatoes, garlic, and some spices (red pepper, chicken bullion, chili powder, oregeno, cumin) Let that simmer for a while.
Prep, first layer
Meanwhile I cut up a head of cabbage and simmered in a large pan with a bit of EVOO and water to wilt it down. Used some olive oil Pam in my pan. (I don't have a glass dish) 1 layer of cabbage and some cheese, 1 layer of half the meat mixture, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, 2nd layer of cabbage, cheese, ricotta cheese, mozzarella and mixed shredded cheese on top.

Going in the oven.
All done - My dinner tonight
So if you cut it into 12 pcs, each serving is:
192 calories, 10 carbs, 15 protein, 4.5 sugars

So I just tasted it, had a piece for dinner. I have to say it was VERY GOOD!! I thought it was gonna be too sweet for me cause of all the cabbage, But the cheese balances it out. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Just be careful not to eat too much. It's kind of high in sugar cause of all the cabbage.

Oh By the way; did you notice on Blogger now you can reply to anyone's comment if you want directly under it?? Very cool. So that's the way I will be answering any questions you might have.

This is a great time to try Reslina that I am always talking about. There is a coupon code posted above left for buy 1 get 1 bottle free...

Thanks for listening. Lots of Love to you all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Say Thank You To Those Who Matter

We must find time to stop and thank the people who have made a
difference in our lives.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. The casserole looks good! Before BFC I was always making casseroles with noodles or tortillas but dont hardly anymore. I also didn't lose weight as fast as Nicole (or like the cover of the book says), but it was plenty fast enough for me!

I have not seen that new comment feature! I hate blogger comments and have thought about replacing mine with that plugin where it shows the commenters last blog post. If I can figure it out...

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
