Thank you so much for all the Birthday Wishes here and on Facebook. It was overwhelming of how many there was. It really does make a difference in our weight loss success having such great friends all doing the same thing and so much support.
I had a good day yesterday;
my breakfast |
I ordered an iced tea and a salad and it comes with this amazing non-BFC zucchini nut bread. I had only 1 piece.
So here's where the FOOD BULLIE thing that I am always talking about comes in.
I love my sister but I don't know how to get her to understand me. She said; it's your birthday, you should order something good. I told her I want a salad so I can have a piece of that bread and some of hubby's fries. She said; well you didn't eat any carbs w/breakfast so you can eat something good now...
My hubby turned to her and said;
She has been doing this for 2 years. Nothing you say is gonna get her to change or stop.
You see... he gets it...
They brought me out a scoop of ice cream w/a candle on top for my birthday and they said happy birthday and then hubby took it away and said she won't eat this at all.. haha
So Hubby had to work the night shift and I said its fine cause we hung out the day before, so he left and Nicole left and Maria, Lisa and I went to go see the Rose Parade Floats.
look at the crowd |
All the floats were very pretty. Maria and Lisa bought some nuts that were coated with sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. I tasted a couple but they were way too sweet for me. I say under the tent - like 10 - 50lb bags of sugar all stacked on top of each other. I was gonna take a picture, but didn't want to get kicked out LOL.
We walked a ton and our feet were tired. I left Pasadena around 5:30 and went to Laguna Niguel to pick up my 29 year old son Matthew. Remember him? the one that was in rehab that I went to visit in the summer. He went to live at his dad's and is doing real good now but doesn't have a car and he wanted to visit me so off I went. I ate some nuts that I had in my purse in the car.
By the time we got back to my house it was 9pm. We both ate a pumpkin muffin and I had some tea. and off to bed around 10:30.
My breakfast this morning. |

My thought for the day:
Sacrifice
The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Yay for the hubby!!!! Like you said "He gets it"! My hubby has been doing this with me..only on our 3rd day but so far so good. He doesn't have much to lose...just a little gut. But I know I wouldn't be able to do this...ok I shouldn't say I KNOW I WOULDN"T ... but I know it would be much much harder if my hubby wasn't understanding...
ReplyDeleteI loved the pictures!!!
You did wonderful and you are such an inspiration!!!
I didn't realize you had a Matthew too:) I'm glad to hear that he is doing well.
ReplyDeleteGood for you and good for you husband standing up for you! Jealousy creeps in with sisters sometimes. My sister is on a weight loss program again so maybe she will feel better about herself. We get along way better when she feels good.
I'm glad you had such a great birthday. I would love to see the floats in person one day. You sure live in a great location to see a lot of fun things!
Thanks for always being here:)
I like that quote a lot. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you had a good birthday, and glad your hubby 'gets it.' That is so important! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You did some serious driving on your bday. Chino Hills to Pasadena to LN!!!! I hope you get good gas mileage! LOL! I don't go anywhere becasue the gas mileage sucks on my SUV.....AND my children and work have sucked up my life :) Anyhow, I love how your hubby stuck up for you to the food bullies! That's a good husband who has your back....AND backside!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGotta run to pick up child 2 from his school and then pick up Child 1 from her school 2 hrs later! Sigh!!!!

I sure appreciate my companion supporting me, by not sabotaging my efforts. We are totally on different pages-food wise, but he 'gets it' for me. I'm glad you have that too.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you enjoyed your b-day.
You sound like you had a great birthday! What fun to see the Rose parade in person. I've always wanted to go see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in NY, but it's still on my "to do list". Thanks for the support with my son. He doesn't know I blog, or I wouldn't be able to write anything! Do you notice there are never any men on here?

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful birthday! Like everyone else, I'm very impressed and proud of your husband for being so in-tuned with you that he stood up for you like this. What fantastic support.
ReplyDeleteHi Norma, and welcome!
