The Move is done....

Well Hello Friends,

I am finally home from a long 3 days. Thanksgiving was great! Hubby and I went to his cousin Carla's house. She follows my blog and always has nice things to say about how I look. She was so sweet that she actually baked a yam in the oven plain just for me.

I ate some turkey (regular and smoked), some awesome looking beef, about 2 bites of stuffing and mac & cheese, green beans and brussel sprouts. Just a little bit of each and it was really good and then I had a couple bites of Hubby's desert.

Friday morning I drove over to Lisa's and parked my car in her driveway and I drove her car ( cause she drives a prius ) and we drove to Vegas. Remember Maria is moving in with her in Pasadena, so we went to help her move. She wanted to stay thru Thanksgiving with the neighbor cause they have been so good to her since my dad's passing.

We got there around 2pm and went straight to pick up the U-Haul truck and I parked it in the driveway. Then  her neighbors were waiting to feed us at 3:00. I ate some turkey, beans, a tamale. They are Mexican, so beans and tamales are what you get for thanksgiving. LOL.

Then we all (neighbors included) started loading up the truck. There was still a ton of packing for Maria to do and I helped as much as I could. Oh yeah - I ate a Papusa around 7pm. They are a bad influence on me. LOL! Its not bad - just not that nutritious. It's like a thick corn tortilla stuffed with something.

No TV so I brought a book. I was trying to relax and sleep and all I heard was the party next door of drunken spanish singing and out of tune I might add.

I could not sleep and then at 1:30 am a alarm clock went off in the room I was in. Go figure. So I read some more and at 6am I woke them up so we could go. We were all packed and ready and I ate 2 small corn tortillas w/some left over turkey and cheese.

So it was now 7:30am and we were leaving. I was driving the U-Haul by myself and Lisa and Maria and Maria's 2 dogs were in Lisa's car behind me - when Maria locked the house door and left her purse inside. DUH! And guess where the keys were?

So she went and got the neighbor and the found a way in the house and 45 min. later we were off again With Lisa following behind me. Stopped at the mini mart gas station got gas and much needed COFFEE!!

I was driving for 15 min and noticed the hood flopping up and down so I pulled over and Lisa and I found out how to close it. We stopped in Baker and got more coffee and potty break. I ate 2 coconut flour muffins. Truck Driving makes me hungry. :-)

Then we stopped again in Victorville at In-N-Out and I ate a double-double wrapped in lettuce w, pickles, cheese, and tomatoes. Maria and the dogs got in the truck w/me and we went straight to the house while Lisa went to Orange County to get 2 of her cousins to help. We got to the house around 2pm.

Her tiny size 0 cousin was there dog sitting for her. The 2 of us (not Maria - she was too tired) started unloading the truck. The Hubby came over to help ( he has to work nights tonight so he just came before he had to go in). The 3 of us unloaded the entire truck in like an hour. (I'm making a muscle here but you can't see it). Then we decided to go return the truck.

When we cam back they were finally there and we said we didn't even need you. So we all decided to go out to eat at a restaurant called El Patrone. (Mexican food) I had a taco salad. I was on my way home by 5:30 and got home by 6:15pm. My 2 doggies were so excited and missed me. I put everything away and took a very needed shower.

I feel better now. I AM tired and hope I can sleep tonight. I missed reading all your blogs and will try to catch up on them in the morning.

Thanks for listening. Big hugs to you all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off....

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
