Well we have a long 3 day weekend ahead of us. Remember to try not to eat all the wrong foods because we are around others eating it. I know the pressure gets to us sometimes, but be strong.
Don't let the FOOD BULLIES get to you.
Just do like I do and find 1 thing that you love and have 2-3 bites and then stop. That was you get to taste it and not feel like such an Alien so-to speak.
If you live in southern California, then you know it's time for the L.A. County Fair. It starts tomorrow Sept 3rd and goes on for a whole month. I love going to the fair. I love the shopping and the food. Well at least I used to.
I usually go at least 2-3 times. I carry in my own water in a rolly bag, and use the bag to put all my stuff in so I don't have to carry it. I know NOW to wear my shape-ups so I can be comfortable to walk like a zillion miles. They have rides (which I don't do anymore), lots of shopping, animals, exibits, and tons of deep fried everything. I don't eat that stuff, but I do love to get a big turkey leg.
I used to get a corn on the cobb before. I have not eaten any corn of any kind since starting the BFC over 1 and 1/2 years ago. 1 ear has about 5 grams of sugar and 2 servings of carbs. Since I am at my goal weight now, I might make an exception this time and have a corn along with my turkey leg. I am excited to eat one since its been so long. It won't be cheating if I don't eat anything else with those 2 things for a meal.
I hid $200 almost 2 months ago in the house so I am gonna use that to buy some stuff for me. HAHA I told hubby when I hid it, if he could find it he could have it. Well I just checked and it's still there. :-)
Hubby has to work nights at the FD the next 4 days in a row. That mean, me alone again. Hopefully he wont be too tired to go to the fair tomorrow, its the first day and if you go before 1pm you get in for only $1, he will probably drive his own car then he will go right to work by 6pm. I know he will be real tired.
Have a good and safe weekend. If you travel then be safe. If you stay at home, then try to do something at least a movie.
Thanks for listening. Hugs and love to all. Remember - WWRD??
This is PurpleRosy signing off...
My thought for the day:
Change and Challenge
Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

I love that you hid the money and now you can use it on yourself! I would love to be able to do that! ! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI used to love corn on the cob before I started the BFC. Corn on the cob and watermelon are the only two things I've missed this summer. Hope you have a great time at the fair!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time! I have never heard of eating a turkey leg, but it sounds good to me. I always go for corn dogs:)
ReplyDeleteIt is so expensive to go to our Fair that I don't know if we will go. 200.00 in your pocket will be fun to have! Hopefully you will have good entertainment too!
Sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun even if you are alone. I have seen those big old turkey legs and have wanted to try one. I had to laugh about the hiding the money. Glad he did not find it so you can buy yourself something.
ReplyDeleteLove your thought of the day, so true! I love your idea about good choices at the fair. The funnel cakes always get me...all of that fried refined flour & sugar, yum. I hope you get to go to the fair, sounds fun. Speaking of food this weekend, I've been looking for football friendly recipes. I did find some awesome looking meatball recipes in Rachael Ray's magazine. I think I'm gonna try one. Oh & if you have the corn, I bet it will taste SO SWEET to you.
ReplyDeleteI met a gal today that was from CA and had been to the LA Fair many times. I asked her about the turkey legs and she said they are WONDERFUL!!! She said you walk in the main gate at the fair and turn one way for the turkey legs and the other way for the corn on the cob. We have Pig Out in the Park here. She was really disappointed because it was not like the LA Fair!
