Clemmy's Ice Cream.....

Hello All,

Thanks for always being of such great support. I know how important it is to have our little blog community, especially in times when we are not feeling our best. I am still not great - but I know it is my hormones. As I have said, I am 52 and still get my period, so I feel bad probably about 1/2 the time.

That along with my essential tremors that I have gets on my nerves and I get grouchy at times. The more I read about it - the more scared I get. Oh well - what can you do? Just keep on keepin on....

So I have been trying to find those Clemmy O's and the So Delicious unsweetened ice cream. No luck on either anywhere. I just want to try them. Amber and Jorge have posted that they love them. They both live in the San Diego area I think which is way more south from me.

So in my trying to find them yesterday I went into the Albertsons near m house. The Clemmy's website said you can buy their stuff there. I found this new flavor of Peanut butter chocolate chip. I went home and tried it. It was AWESOME!!

The only downfall is: that 1/2 cup serving has 2 servings of carbs now. It contains sugar alcohols which is counted as carbs. It also contains Xylitol and Malytol. But if that bothers your tummy - it is worth it. YUM. SO just save 2 carbs for your after dinner treat and enjoy!!

Here is a link for a coupon:  http://www.clemmysicecream.com/current-coupons

I'm not giving up - I still want o try the O's and the So Delicious coconut ice cream. If I find them - I will let you know.

Yesterday I ate;
breakfast; 2 eggs, 2 turkey bacon, smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/cheese, 4 blackberries, 4 raspberries, coffee, blah, blah, blah. There is a new coupon code I posted for the Reslina I posted above if anyone wants to try.  S-4/C-1
lunch; shirataki noodles, seeds of change pasta sauce, mushrooms, zuchinni, 6 meatballs, hot sauce, parmesan cheese. and a little popcorn that was left over.  S-3/C-1
dinner; buffalo wings, 6 brussel sprouts, broccoli, 1/2 cup of the clemmys ice cream.  S-3/C-2

Remember the problem I have with my foot?? Where it hurts when I try to wear certain high heel shoes?? The doctor told me I had degenerative arthritis. And that I needed surgery. I went yesterday to a second opinion and basically he told me that if it didn't hurt that I could put it off. He said just don't wear the shoes that hurt me and if it got worse - do the surgery later. So I am gonna put that on the back burner and not worry about it.

Well that's all for now. Thanks as always for listening. Please don't forget to support all my friends blogs on the list below. And to everyone that gave me a hug yesterday - here's a big fat one right back at cha.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

  2. That's awesome that you have found Clemmys in your area! I am pretty sure I will have to order them if I want some. I am pretty happy with the ice cream I made myself with xylitol, so at least there's that. :)

My husband's Dad has the essential tremors, I think. I can't remember what he's doing to help it, or if it's helping. We don't speak often, but if I hear about it I will let you know. It makes me nervous, because sometimes my husband shakes a little too, and I'm pretty sure it's hereditary..

I'd put that foot surgery off too, if it didn't bother me all the time.

Thank you for all you do, Rosalie! Thanks for posting even when you don't feel good. I think it helps us all to acknowledge those times and lift each other up. Hope you feel better tomorrow - I sure am not looking forward to perimenopause or pre menopause or any of that! :)

  3. Rosie, you need to change your picture to your after picture!!! You don't look like the old picture anymore, you were beautiful then too, but you have worked hard to be beautiful now. I wish we all lived close to each other so we could buy a ton of Clemmy's ice cream and have it shipped and split the 30.00 shipping:(
I hope you feel better soon. You are such a positive person, it probably takes a lot of energy:)

  4. Keep on hanging in there Rosalie. I am so in agreement about those hormones. Sometimes I fell so unlike myself, almost like I'm possessed. It helps to know there is a reason. Gosh, I hope my little friend decides to stay home and never come visit me on a monthly basis again. Each month I hope that, but then it comes again. I'm so ready to be done with it after 39 years. I started early, and now I'm going late! I have been looking for those clemmy o's too and can't find them. Living in PA is like living in the dark ages. We still have state run liquor/wine stores! Not sure where to look, as we only have Trader Joe's and Whole Foods around here. Luckily ice cream was never my weakness, so it doesn't matter if I don't get it often. Glad you are going to hold off on your foot surgery. Sounds like the right thing to do. Wait until you can't stand it anymore. You will be down if you can't go for those long walks! Take care and big hugs to you!

  5. I can't find that ice cream around here either. That Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip flavor sounds awesome! I did try making some home made vanilla ice cream last week that came out pretty well. Of course that is not as convenient as the ready made stuff, plus can't make those delicious flavors either. I'm going to attempt to put down my blog address here and I also wanted to let you know my weight has changed to 176lbs. It's coming off but very, very slowly! http://beth-bbb.blogspot.com/

  6. Glad to see the pictures back up..totally motivating!!! This is day 4 for me on BFC (again). I'm determined to stick to it...I want to feel and look good! I've been watching my beer/wine intake and keeping it to two a night..had to do in the summer heat in Minnesota but well worth it!! I want to loose 40 lbs. No rush (ok..we're going to Mexico in December or January)!

    Thanks, Ms. Rosy- Mrs. Benson:D

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
