We are beautiful just the way we are....

Hello all,

I hope everyone had a great Belly Fat Cure Monday!!

I really do feel bad about saying how great the weather is over here in Southern California - but it is. I grew up in Michigan and have lived here since I was 22. In the beginning I remember having to put baby oil on my skin every day cause it was so dry. Well anyways - that's why I appreciate it over here SO MUCH!

I realized that maybe I should start posting my S/C values when I post my food, so I will from now on.

Kaj - and to all, report in once a week on your weigh-in day - what ever day that is, mine is on Monday for our weight loss progress.

Debbie  - I went to the Meet-up.com, and it looks like it's only for dating and single people. I am not sure my Hubby would like that too much LOL.

Sara - If you go back and read my earlier posts, and look at my weight loss progress - that happened to me many times. Maybe we might need to talk on the phone if you like. Are we friends on facebook? if so send me a message. You need to make sure you are getting enough fiber so you can go #2 every day. How many grain carbs are you eating a day? You might need to cut back 1. Make sure you get enough green veggies and lots of water.

Thank you everyone for all your lovely comments. I really appreciate it!

Tonight was supposed to be Family night at the rehab for my son. By the way he is an adult and 28 years old. He has screwed up many times before - but I let him know yesterday that he can always tell me the truth and I might get mad at him, but I will never turn my back on him or abandon him and I will always love him no matter what. I think he needs to hear that from someone.

So his Ex and I drove out to the Family night - it was supposed to start at 6pm. We got stuck on the 15 frwy behind a real bad accident and got there at 6:30 and late. They would not let us in - I told them about the accident and they said no anyways. I know my son was waiting for me and was probably disappointed. It was beyond my control but I feel like I let him down.

Today I ate:
breakfast; 2 oasis bread (toast) w/butter and peanut butter, 2 turkey bacon, 8 blackberries, coffee, blah, blah, blah - my vitamins, 2 pro-biotics and 2 Reslina. S-5/C-1

lunch; a salad at chipotles of lettuce, carnitas (pork), black beans, cheese, salsa (hot), guacamole. S-1/C-1

snack; some pork rinds 0/0

dinner; meatballs, 6 brussel sprouts, alfredo sauce, and rediwhip for desert. S-2/C-0

Pattie - It's funny that you blogged about wanting to feel pretty. I have blogged about that subject a few times.  I swear, no matter how skinny I get or feel - I still look at myself sometimes and feel that same feeling as before. Like there is more things to improve or fix. I know we all go thru that during our loss and I think it's normal and will just take a bit of time to realize that we are beautiful just the way we are.

Accept yourself with all, our lumps and wrinkles and sags and cottage cheese, We are Beautiful. Set a goal for yourselves and when you get to it - stick to it. Don't keep thinking that you need to get even smaller. Be happy with where we are.

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all. Please visit all my friends blogs and follow and support them as well.

  3. How frustrating that they wouldn't let you in. I think sometimes it is hard to feel beautiful at any weigth at any age....but I'm working on feeling good about myself which is easier said than done. Have a great day :)

  4. Rosy, your son will understand that you tried to see him, so don't beat yourself up too bad about this. Sorry about the meet-up thing. My bad, it's meetup.com with no space line. Hope that works for ya. I know they have groups all over the USA. A friend of mine just moved back to Oregon and found a group she likes already from meetup.

My weight up again today, I think it's because we are in the middle of painting our master bedroom and I have not been eating well after the long day of painting and moving furniture.

Maybe we can talk on the phone sometime? I have free long distance so I could call you. anyways, how would we give our phone numbers out safely?

  5. Hi Rosalie. Sorry things didn't work out with visiting your son. I am surprised the facility was so rigid with their visitation time. I guess they have their rules for a reason. I hope your soon gets well there. I have a three sons, and one is 26.I can relate to how you always want to be there for them. Your son is doing the right thing be getting professional help in a rehab setting.
Thanks again for always being there to help your BFC friends. I love your thought for the day. I copied that on my blog. Hope you don't mind. Imitation is the ultimate in flattery! I love motivational sayings and I keep ones I like in a book. Sometimes it's the little things that keep you goint! Take care!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
