We all are quite a little community aren't we??

Good Day to you all,

Wow! We seem to be dropping like flies Huh?? I know the blogging is hard to keep up with, but it really does help keep us focused and on track, by being accountable and making a ton of new BFC friends.

Even though I am very close to the goal I set for myself, I do this to help others who are doing the Belly Fat Cure.
Like we all say: We all are quite a little community aren't we?? I have made many friends that have the same goal as me. How awesome is that??

We (a bunch of us) seem to be having a problem with our weight going up and down lately. I do know that fiber and going #2 has always been a problem since I started the BFC.
I used to use Metamucil the clear one. But didn't realize why my tummy gurgled all the time was because it didn't agree with me. I switched to the clear Benefiber and no problem since. I also use the Super Seed w/water in the afternoons. It is sweetened w/stevia and has a lot of natural stuff in it and tastes pretty good too, but you have to drink it very fast- it gets thick quick.
My new BFC friend, Sarah in Canada said her doctor recommended to take Magnesium 400-500mg per day as a natural alternative - so I am gonna give it a try as soon as I go to the store I will get some and add it to my daily vitamin routine. I will let you know.

What I ate:
Wednesday:
breakfast; 2 french toast made with Oasis bread , unsweetened almond breeze, egg, cinnamon, Joseph's sugar free syrup, 2 turkey bacon, coffee, blah, blah, blah.  S-2/C-1
lunch; spinach salad w/feta cheese, bacon bits, balsamic dressing, and I took 4 pcs of turkey 2 each and put some of the clam dip (recipes page) I made on top and some avocado and rolled it up. Ummm, Yum, good. and 2 squares of Lindt 85% chocolate after. S-3/C-0

snack; super seed w/water and pork rinds. S-0/C-1
snack; amway protein bar (on products page) while I was out kind of late.  S-1/C-2
dinner;turkey medallions, broccoli, and a little pesto sauce for flavor. ( I love pesto sauce) S-1/C-0

Thursday;
breakfast; 2 eggs w/sauted mushrooms, onion, baby spinach, cheese, 1/2 avocado, 2 turkey bacon, cottage cheese, coffee, blah, blah, blah.  S-4/C-0
lunch;spinach salad w/herb ranch dressing 0-S, pizza w/smart and delicious wheat tortilla, pasta sauce (on products page), cheese, turkey pepperoni.  S-1/C-1
snack; pork rinds w/hot sauce (I am trying to use them up) 0/0
dinner; turkey medallions, broccoli, brussel sprouts and a little alfredo sauce for flavor. RediWhip for desert  S-2/C-0

Thanks for always listening. Lots of love to all of you. Don't forget to visit my friends blogs on the list below.

  1. hi rosalie, you rock! thanks for posting what you eat, gives me ideas. i eat 80% of my meals out, my husband is retired and he loves to eat out. i've been doing the bfcft lately and i've lost 5 lbs in 3 wks. i actually do the regular bfc on the weekends to give myself a break with some grain splurges. i got the idea from you of the toast, cream cheese and perserves. i found the smuckers w/ truvia at walmart. that's what i'm having today as my snack.

i take the mangnesium every day 250 ml twice a day. it also helps with insomnia. i've heard not to take 1000 mls or more or it will give you the runs.

thanks for all you do for us.

  2. Hi Rosalie, and happy Friday! I've been lurking and since people seem to be leaving I thought I'd fill the 'void.' it is so important to have a community of support. I blog a bit on sparkpeople, but not on my own, it just seems easier. Maybe this summer I will start one.

  3. Hi Rosalie,
I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now while I try to stick with the BFC. You do a great job on your blog!
Gladly, my cravings are gone now.
I thought I would chime in on the magnesium. I use a product from my health food store called Natural Calm, a magnesium supplement that you mix with water. I use about 350 mg a day and it really does help you go. I have also heard magnesium helps prevent migraines, which I also have occasionally.
    Thanks for keeping us motivated.

  4. I take a magnesium (250mg)and calcium supplement at night and notice it helps tremendously! Start slow with the magnesium. I have tried to take 2 tablets(500mg) and literally couldn't get from the kitchen to the bathroom in time (and my house isn't that big)! On another note, I hear there is a Mother's Market opening in Brea. I'm not sure how often you get to Brea, but I've found the GG Scandinavian bread/crackers there and also the xylichew gum (which is much better than spry)and most of the harder to find BFC products there. Just a suggestion for something to do. Thanks for all of the motivation! Keep on Bloggin!

  7. It is hard to blog for some people and I know lately I have been missing on the blog community but I still love to read all the blogs and try and support each and everyone. I hope to be back as soon as I am healed. It looks like another 6 wks before I can do much of anything.

  8. I am so greatful for the bfc community, I know with out it I would have give up a long time ago. It is just easier to eat all the high sugar foods everyone else is eating. There were a lot of things that I think Jorge could have explained better in the bfc book, plus his lose 4-9lbs every week was discouraging to me when that didn't happen.

I miss our friends who seem to have fallen off the bfc wagon, but I am loving all the new people. It's good for us to all support eachother. Have an awesome day :)

  9. Hi R,
Thanks for the blogs and support you pass on!!!
I finally weighed in at 141 this morning! The
last time I weighed 141 was back June 5th. I went up to 145-146 and was stuck until today!! I am working on my old weight of 138 that was back in January 2011. So, I will continue this coming week witht the 4-5 mile walk as I think this is what helped. I eat all BFC meals and I have a regular BM's daily!! I think when we get to our target weight for our bodies, exercise then becomes a bit more involved. I didn't exercise nearly for 6 months when I started BFC and the weight just kept coming off. After reading old-timers blogs (those who have been on it for over 1 year) they add excercise to their new lifestyle and it helps maintain or loss additional weight. I know now it just comes off slower than before and I am getting comfortable with accepting that for today. :)
    Peace,
    E

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
