Family Night.........

Hi everybody,

I hope everyone was having a good weekend. It is always nice weather over here in Southern California, even when the locals think its not. Remember I am from Michigan originally, so to me its always nice.

Today I went for my walk early in the day because I knew it was gonna be 85. I usually go around 6-7ish. I went 3.3 miles this morning and could of even went more but it was getting too hot and I didn't want a repeat of the other time when I got real shakey afterwards.

I did eat breakfast first, then waited about a hour to walk.
breakfast I ate; 2 eggs w/sausage crumbles, cheese, spinach, and the left over brown rice from the other night. I scrambled it all together and ate it with 1/2 avocado, coffee, blah, blah, blah. S-0/C-1

lunch;spinach salad w/tuna, mayo, feta cheese, bacon bits, avocado, and croutons. S-1/C-1

snack; pork rinds  0/0

dinner; chicken and brocolli, 2 squares of 85% lindt and redi whip for desert. S-3/C-0

I went to the family night at my sons rehab tonight. Remember last week I got caught in traffic because of an accident? This week I got there on time and we all sat around in a circle in chairs across from the person you were there to see. It was very nice and I'm very glad I went to show him that someone cares enough about him to go there on a Monday night.

Well that's it for now. Thanks for listening as usual. Lots of love to all of you. Please don't forget to visit all my friends blogs on the list below.

Please leave comments with any help or questions that any of you new people might have. Don't be shy - I LOVE to help.

My thought for the day:

Our Finest Moments

Our Finest Moments Positive Quote
The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Rosalie, thanks for your words of encouragement on my blog. I couldn't wait to see what my BFC friends had to say when I woke up this morning and you and Katy didn't disappoint. I feel better about the weekend. I am also glad to hear that you have some strategies ( take a couple bites) for dealing with tempting foods. The wierd part is that it was almost automatic, habitual eating, not really temptation that caused those slip ups. I wasn't being mindful and keeping my goals in mind. I thought you never strayed, and you are my inspiration. So to hear that you continue to lose weight and have had your moments of weakness, give me hope going forward. I'm glad you got to visit your son. I felt bad about the traffic thing last week, but you did your best. You are a good mom and he must know that by the efforts you are putting forth to help him recover. I hope all will be well for your son in the near future. Take care Rosalie, and I'm sending you hugs and best wishes! Off to walk the doggies before the rain comes!

  2. One more thing...love your thought for the day. Hit home with me as last night I stayed up late wondering if I'm on the right eating plan, can this work for me etc., etc! I went to sleep saying that it could work, if I work at it. So your thought for the day was very appropriate for me personally! XOXO

  4. That is great that you were able to see your son. Was he appreciative of the fact that you were there? Did you see progress?
I know what you are saying about the white flour bread etc. I just know that if I made myself eat the whole wheat I would have given up a long time ago. I do hope someday I will "acquire" a taste for it. I would have NEVER thought that I would like raw spinach so miracles do happen! I will always be happy to take any advice you have:) You are a success story!!!

  5. You are such an inspiration! I have a question for you -about Mission carb balance soft taco , it has 18g of carbs, 1g of sugar, 11g of fiber, have you ever tried them? I have 50 lbs to lose & I feel the belly fat cure is the best way to lose it.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
