Maintenance and Hanging in there....

Hello my friends,

I hope everyone is making the best out of their weekend. I personally had another boring lonely day today. Hubby wasn't supposed to work today or tomorrow (Sunday), but he's doing OT again. My son is supposed to have a day pass tomorrow and is coming home to visit for a few hours with his girlfriend. Maybe they will go swimming with me. I don't like to go alone.

Boy sometimes when I say it out loud I still freak myself out!! I actually lost 85lbs!!! I don't know anyone personally who has done that. I am not bragging - I just can't believe I actually did that by just changing what I ate - that's all!!!

I wanted to talk about maintenance and how to hang in there on the Belly Fat Cure.

Jorge only seems to be into the money and gets people to follow him and buy his books but doesn't tell us what to do after or when we get stuck.

The most important thing I have learned is to not give up just because I gained a couple of lbs. That is what has happened to me the past week.

Try different things. That is why you notice that I only eat 2 grain carbs a day. I started doing that a long time ago and it has worked for me. Then if you add up the other stuff I eat  during the day - it will probably add up to 1 more carb. (the veggies and other foods)

Eat the Grain carbs that give you the most nutrition out of it. Ex: Like I love Cherrios, but I only eat them once a week cause they have no fiber. So the tortilla or Oasis bread is a better choice for me and the eggs are nutritious and also protein for breakfast.

I have been feeling kind of depressed the past week - I have to be honest with you. It might be my hormones, or the stuff going on at home. But it has been hard on me. I just want to lay on the couch all day. Today I actually felt like giving up on the BFC and just eating whatever. But it was just a passing thought.

I am not going to jeopardize what I have accomplished so far. But it has been very difficult to get those last 5lbs off. I'm not gonna quit!!

Today I ate:
breakfast 1/4 c dry quinoa w/zuchinni, mushrooms, onions, chicken bullion, and 2 scrambled eggs all together in a bowl. Coffee, blah, blah, blah  S-3/C-1

lunch; 2 oasis bread w/tuna w/mayo on top, avocado and pepper jack cheese on top toasted.  S-1/C-1

snack; nuts and cheese S-1/C-1

dinner; we went to Applebees and I had a glass of Cabernet Savingnon, spinach artichoke dip w/celery for appetizer, steak, brocolli, zuchinni, 2 tortilla chips w/salsa, and 2 small bites of hubby's mashed potatoes. S-2/C-1

Cary: friend me on facebook and we can meet at that store you were talking about sometime :-)

anon: I don't know about the Joseph's syrup how to convert, but I am not sure I would do that anyway. I love it but only eat it once a week when I make french toast because the Malytol makes my tummy gurgle something fierce. But there is a chart to the right on how to convert sugar to truvia or stevia.

And to Mary B and all the new people - WELCOME... don't forget to leave your goal weight too..

Esther - glad to see you are doing so good with your weight..

Well that's all for now. Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all. Please leave any questions or any help that you might need in the comments below.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Slow Down

Slow Down Positive QuoteSlow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast, you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Good advice for today! I was just showing my hubby my blog and I realized by looking at older posts that I have only lost like 1 lb this month. After all of the changes I have made??? Then I realize that I have changed size wise so to "get over myself" as my husband put it.
You have done AMAZING with your weight loss!
I'm sorry you feel bummed. I know that even when my life is at it's happiest I can still get that way too. Do you take Vitamin D? Also...if I lived there I would go swimming with you every day. It sure beats sitting out on my back deck!

  2. I was looking thru old pictures to make a picture board for my son's grad party. And looked at my old pictures, and comparing myself to them now. WOW, Thanks to all the health choices out there and being more aware, I feel and look better than I did in my mid 20's and 30's, I'm 44 now, sad I wasted all those years. Don't ever give up Rosalie! You look so wonderful. sue moschino

  4. Hi Rosalie. This is Carey Callander and we are facebook friends already :) The Mothers Market in Brea isn't open yet, and am not sure when the grand opening is, but I'd love to meet you there! It seems everything on the BFC "difficult to find" list is there. We have several of the stores in the OC and I love them. I'm sorry you are feeling depressed (I think I'm doing the same) but I know mine is hormone related this week! Isn't it fun being a woman?! If you are ever down in Huntington Beach or Newport Beach, let's go for a walk. I used to be the Queen of exercise, but life has gotten really busy with my kids :) Also,Whenever you want to throw in the towel on the BFC, just remember how far you've come and what an inspiration you are to others!!!!! :)

  5. Rosalie, you're such an inspiration! I use your words as a personal montra... "don't give up, just keep doing what you're doing". So far it's working - slowly but surely :-). Thanks for not giving up and continuing to inspire us!

  6. Hi Rosalie,

I know that being isolated can really weigh on a person. I wish I lived closer, you know that.

Just know that the time you put into this blog is so important to me, and others. I love how strong you are. It inspires me daily.

Thank you for being such a good friend. I couldn't do this without you.

    Much love,

    Mayra

  7. Hey there Rosalie! I am sorry to hear you have been feeling down - it's been a bit stressful over here as well. I think it's the time of year, and here the weather hasn't been as nice as it should. Make sure you take time for yourself - we need extra sometimes! I wanted to also take the time and let you put me 'on your wall.' Today I weighed in at 138.6. My goal weight right now is 129, so I'm almost there! take care, Dawn

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
