Hi All,

  1. Just curious, why do you eat the turkey bacon? I eat the Costco pre cooked bacon? Jorge said it was OK? Another question...is the only reason not to eat white bread because of the fiber? The sandwich thins I bought actually have less sugar than the wheat ones, which would make it 1/2? Thanks Rosie:)

  2. Kay I eat turkey bacon because it has less fat and calories than regular and I really like the way it tastes better.

White stuff - like bread, pasta, rice - has no nutritional value. No good for you! Wheat or whole grain usually has fiber. White is like empty calories.

I always try to choose my carbs wisely because of that reason.
    I hope that helps :-)

  4. Your breakfast looks yummy.....Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Do you cook your turkey bacon in the microwave? I have been told it does not cook as well in the microwave versus stove top. I just dont have tons of time in the morning to cook it.

  5. Hey sweetie. Your page is sort of messed up so I had to post a comment to this blog post instead of your latest. My heart goes out to you about your son. I know how it is when you feel like you have to save someone from themselves. There are no easy answers and everybody has to do what makes them feel good about the situation (or the best they can anyway). I just want to remind you that no matter how many times you try to save your son, it is he who has to make the decision to save himself. I am in no way implying that you should abandon him....just that he has to have the will to make the changes. Some people learn that (my favorite cousin finally did in his mid 30's) and some never do (my kids dad committed suicide almost 11 years ago) I couldn't tell you what made the difference between the two. I will say that having gone through "saving" my late husband several times, in the end he did not have the will to save himself and there was nothing I could do. I want you to know that if your son doesnt develope the will to change....it is not your fault. Do what you feel is the best thing....that makes your heart feel ok. I hope this all came out right....but in short... ((((HUGS))))

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
