Year 2, Wednesday wk 4 on the Belly Fat Cure

Good Morning Everyone,

I just got done eating a very good breakfast. I had 2 scrambled eggs w/ the rest of that chorizzo I opened this past week, and mushrooms and cheese, and stuffed it into 2 halves of a SaraLee wheat pita with some avocado, and my 8 blackberries and coffee w/ truvia, clear Benefiber, powdered cream and cinnamon. And don't forget all my vitamins and 2 RESLINA.

My tummy feels a little spicy and good!

I was reading up yesterday about PeriMenopause. That means the time up till your period ends. I guess that is what I have even though I am 52. I still get my period, but in the past, maybe 6 months or so, at certain times of the month, I can really notice my hormones drop like they fell off a cliff. It's weird, my tummy feels funny and usually I feel so bad I just sit around and cry. Hubby will ask whats wrong? and I say I have no idea.

Here are some of the symptoms that we will be getting associated with perimenopause:
mood swings
depression
anger
erratic menstrual flows
hot flashes
night sweats
changes in mood
problems with concentration and memory
low energy levels
vaginal dryness

They say that women who walk or exercise daily have fewer hot flashes and helps with low mood or depression. They said to try to keep the same bedtime and dim the lights 1 hour before bed and to maintain your weight, avoid alcohol, and cut back on caffeine.

So for those of you women who feel like you are going crazy at times - you are probably not.
We are all going crazy together. HaHa that makes me feel better. We should start a crazy club. LOL

I saw a comment on facebook from:
Wynona Carver I am glad to have seen your blog it is awsome. I just started and so far no weight loss and i am doing receipes exactly as they are in the book. But I will keep going and see what happens.

I don't know if I have mentioned before but, I never went by the recipes in The Belly Fat Cure Book. I used all his ideas and menus as a guide and to help me understand the proper way to eat.
I always just did my own thing from all the info in the book. I chose the things that I thought would have the least s/c and the most fiber.
I know he says to not look at the calories, but I do sometimes. For instance, why wold I buy that butter that has 100 calories in 1 tbsp when I can buy this butter that only has 40 calories in 1 tbsp.

That is why we spend so much time looking at labels now.

Let me know if you have any questions or problems that I can help with.

And girls from yesterday: Post the chicken curry recipes and I will put them on my recipe page. Inquiring minds want to know.

Welcome Peggy - she joined us in our weight loss goal chart to the right.

Thanks for listening. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

Worrying is using your imagination to create something you don’t want.
So…instead…use your imagination to create something that you do want! Like how this bear used his imagination to climb over the fence and aligned himself with this cherry tree!
What do you want to create in your life?

Have a wonderful day everyone!
Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

That is the site I got the coconut curry chicken recipe, but of course everyone remember to find the right coconut milk because some has too much sugar.

    Hope everyone enjoys! :)

  2. I want to say that perimenopause is different for everyone. Listen to your body first and foremost. Not everyone will have every symptom and perimenopause does not have to be a struggle. It is a natural process, part of being female. Everyone can find their way though it and out the other side. Wishing everyone the very best!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
