Year 2, Thursday wk 3 on the Belly Fat Cure

Good Morning,

I am not sure what the heck is wrong with me lately. I am feeling like I really have to have something sweet after meals. My sweet tooth has really come back and it has a big vengeance.

I have been trying real hard to ignore it. Like yesterday, I was out with some friends and had lunch at the Shakeys buffet. I had a piece of grilled chicken breast, broccoli, a little bit of salad and a piece of cheese pizza, but just ate the cheese off the top - not the crust.

After I ate , while sitting there I had a sudden urge to eat some chocolate. So on the way home in the car, I ate a chocolate protein bar in my purse.
Here is the link for the bars: http://www.amway.com/Shop/Product/Product.aspx?itemNo=110536&pwsID=JeffZalenko
My nephew told me about them, that is his webpage link above (give him a little support- he is very young). They are Amway, protien bars sweetened w/ rebiana which is a stevia sweetener. They taste good and came in handy when I was in Vegas w/ my dad.

The good thing is that I have many different things that are BFC approved that I can eat. Also I don't eat all my 6 carbs ever - so I can afford to eat an extra cookie or whatever.

So then for dinner I made some stir-fry veggies w/tofu and ate 1/2 and a small steak that hubby fixed when he got home. And After - I had a mad hunkering for something sweet again, but fought it off and just drank some more water.

I have been having this feeling for a little while but have not said anything. I just can't wait to go get a piece of my 85% dark chocolate sometimes. So I guess thats not too bad. At least I'm not craving blizzards from Dairy Queen anymore, (which I ate all the time before).

I hope everyone has a great day today. Don't forget to leave your comments, Don't be shy you new people. That's how we all learn from each other.

My thought for the day:

Attitude

Happy Attitude Positive QuoteIt goes with your everywhere you go. It is on display at work and at home. People around you are affected by it. It has no shape, color, or size, yet its impact on your life is profound. What is it? Your attitude!

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Something I like to do when I am experiencing sugar cravings is to take 1-2 avocados and put them in the food processor with 1 Tbs coco powder and one packet sweetner, (I use stevia) and blend until everything is mixed in and creamy. It's not my idea it's a take on vegan pudding but I modified it to be bfc friendly. It ususally calls for a banana and honey. :)

  2. Hi, Rosalie. It sounds like you're doing great! Those cravings are the worst! I like the avocado idea that Katie mentioned. How does that taste Katie? Does it hit the spot, or is it just so-so?

Here's the new address for my blog...

I decided that I don't want BFC forever linked to my blog. I left an update on my current post, which is not showing in the dashboard for some reason, but it's there.

  3. I have had a few chocolate cravings here and there, but mostly I crave junk food, but rarely anymore. But I did have a small bag of sour cream and onion chips today in place of lunch because I was having a super panic stricken ed day and I cheated a bit healthy wise. But I stayed with in my counts still.

Those protein bars look yummy, but a little pricey. I wish I could find them in a store and try one. I have always wanted to try that think thin bar, but never have bought yet because so much carbs. But maybe I could have in combination with a meal like my lite lunch. Thanks for sharing the link.

I think we all have to try that avocado thing Katie suggested. Sounds interesting. I have heard people make avocado pie and I heard it was really rich tasting. I love avocados so maybe this will taste great :)

  4. Rosalie, I use to think I needed something sweet after every meal. Not so much anymore. I keep my sweet teas on hand so that seems to help when those urges hit. Hey and a little dark chocolate is great too! I wish we had the chocolate reddi whip here but cant find it anywhere.

  5. I hear ya girl!! I have been totally craving peanut m & ms...BAD!!!! Am embarrassed to say it but I have been indulging lately in them. Dont know whats gotten into me either. At least you have been behaving yourself. I probably had 1/2 cup today....not good!! That would probably be why I got on the scale this morning and it said I was 2# up! OH boy!! Well, tomorrow is another day. I am moving on & forgiving myself. God put sweets on this earth for a reason. For some reason, we get those cravings from time to time. I could have certainly done worse damage.
    Have a great day!

  6. When I get a craving for sweets that I cannot shake, I usually made myself half a protein shake. 1 half scoop whey protein, (chocolate of course, lol.) 1 half cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 half cup coffee, 1 packet of stevia, lots of ice. Whirl it up in the blender till all the ice is crushed and it is THICk. Drink it with a straw and make it last, just like a milkshake, sweet and filling enough to satisfy me every time. 1 gram sugar, 5carbs, 1 fiber, 105 calories. If the numbers work for you, try it.

  8. I just downed my one and only truly craving fix: Macadamia Nuts, stirred in a sauce pan of melted dark chocolate with whipping cream. Place each clump (on wrap), on a good size dinner plate, and place them in the fridge to harden. I have my One-A-Day vitamin for the week:) But they are most likely the reason I haven't lost 30lb. in 15 weeks like Anonymous has on Amber's comments today. Ouch!

  9. In response to the qts about the pho-pudding, I like it especially the rich and creamy texture from the avos. Helen I love your protein/milkshake idea, thank you for sharing it!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
