Year 2, Monday starting wk 6 on the Belly Fat Cure

Good Morning,

Well I had a hard weekend. Felt real bad all weekend. Just wanted to sit around and cry. I felt achy with no motivation or drive. I think it was probably my hormones and a little bit of a cold trying to attack me. But I am fighting it all off and today is another day.

Well my weight is at 158 this morning. It was 157 most of the week. I think I am feeling kind of blocked up because I made some cauliflower crusts and cauliflower bread sticks on saturday. I ate a pizza on saturday and sunday. I love the way it tastes and having no grain carbs is always a plus. But when I eat the cauliflower I have found since I started the BFC, the cauliflower gives me gas real bad.

You know - sometimes being on the Belly Fat Cure is a little give and take. Oh well, tastes good but a little tummy ache.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/ cheese, 1 hard boiled egg cut up, a few spinach leaves, 2 turkey bacon broken up, and 1/2 avocado all inside and folded in half to make a quesidilla. w/ my coffee w/truvia, clear benefiber, powdered cream, cinnamon.

lunch; cauliflower crust pizza w/alfredo sauce, then shredded cheese, pepperoni, zuchinni cut up, and some artichoke. Then I ate a few veggie straws and 2 joseph's sugar free cookies.

diner: a spinach salad w/ chicken breast cut up, feta cheese, avocado, bacon bits, artichoke, and my 2 squares of Lindt 85% dark chocolate and some RediWhip.

On yesterdays blog, Amber talked about how important it is to drink water. I just wanted to throw that in - I agree since we can't have that diet cokes that we used to drink.

Don't forget to read all my fellow BFC 'rs blogs on the list below.

Please leave your comments with any problems or any help you might need, and we will all do our best to support you.

Thanks for listening. Love to all of you.

My thought for the day:

Call Your Troubles Experiences

Trouble Positive QuoteIf you will call your troubles experiences, and remember that every experience develops some latent force within you, you will grow vigorous and happy, however adverse your circumstances may seem to be.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Aww! That stinks that you didn't have the best weekend. But I am glad your feeling better. Weekends seem to be the worst for me and I usually have to fight with myself over stopping myself from eating certain things, but looks like you did great! :) I never have got to make the cauliflower pizza yet, but have been wanting to try. Maybe the Joseph's cookies are hurting your belly. I did reach in the book or somewhere that Malitol can mess with our bellies if too much is consumed, but not sure.

Hope your feeling better!! Only a few pounds from your goal! You already have done such an awesome job Rosalie!

  3. This weekend, I felt like sleeping, not crying, just kind of had the blahs. I could not get up off my lazy boy. This morning started out the same way, but I had to go to work, and I was energy-less! My made up word! I'm not sure what it is, but I guess my body is just telling me to take it easy. Well holding steady, nothing to write home about. Hope you shake the dull drums!

  4. I really think exercise helps with the blues. It gets that serotonin going which is a natural mood enhancer. I think you should try it Rosalie. Pick something you like, set an attainable goal for yourself and work towards it. Walk with music, swim, or just go for a walk at the local mall or market. If you do it consistantly you might feel some improvement in your mood. Exercise really helped me with perimenopause and menopause. It might help you too. I hope so.

  5. Oh Rosalie....Sorry to hear that you were feeling blue. You know what?? I was very blue last night too and found myself crying too. I do beleive alot is hormone driven and I thank God that I am on an antidepressant or I think I would be a wreck or in the funny farm!! It really takes the edge off so I recommend that if you continue to feel blue, get in to see your Dr. and ask to get on something. There is no sham ein being on a little something to take the edge off. I was hesitant at first but it has been a godsend for me. I dont think I would have been able to make it through Dec without it!
Hugs to you my dear friend!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
