Saturday of week 45: The Belly Fat Cure

Good Morning to all,

I am so grateful that I started this blog a long time ago. It keeps me sane sometimes on the Belly Fat Cure. I have found many friends that I can relate to. We all understand how we are all feeling. I am glad to have cyber met you all.

I have been sort of stuck for a while. It seems that I only go down maybe 1/2 lb a week or more. I realize that some is better than none, but I really, really wanted to get down to 150lbs. I seem to go up and down every day.  I am back up to 167 today. Big Whoop right? tomorrow I might be back to 165 again.

In some way - I really don't care anymore. I really love my size 10's now. No just kidding... I still care - I really want that 150.

I have been buying stuff from my Avon Lady, Paula for many, many years. Since I moved I haven't called her. I called her 2 weeks ago and ordered my moisturizers that I usually get. She came over to our new house yesterday to deliver them. I was standing outside to wave her over and she just kept going by. Then she saw me and came back. When she came in, she was so shocked at the way I look now. She said she didn't know it was me. The last time I saw her I only lost a little and now 72lbs. Well anyway I told her all about it.

Anyone and everyone, please post you comments or questions about the BFC. We would love to help you in anyway we can. We are all friends here and there is no need to feel bad or embarrassed. We all started out the same way.

Well thanks for listening. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

Believe that you have it, and you have it.
Keep on B|FC ' n  :-)

  1. Oh Rosalie, I wish I could be more like you. I am really struggling sticking with this. I have all the know how, but I just can't seem to stick to the program. Stress rules my life and I know that some of it is just that. I just need to not look back and only look forward, but I think because so much has happened for the negative in the holiday season that I am setting myself up for more bad stuff. Iknow that I need to let it go, but it is so hard this time of year. Any help you have to offer would be most appreciated. I have gained 7 lbs since last post and am so embarrassed to say the least. It is an ongoing struggle every day. This time of year gets me really down. Seasonal thing I think. I did order your reslina and am quite anxious to try it. I am hoping by Monday to receive it. Can you tell me the best way to take it and how long or what to expect from it. I know that resveratrol is supposed to be a super nutrient but have read that it seems to really help with weight loss.
    Please let me know.

  3. Hi Rosalie,
I am still here, but haven't been checking in as often. Thank you for your blog it helps so much. I finally took the plunge and got on the scale. It has been about a month since I weighed in. I am following the plan, but on weeks that I am bloated or not feeling light I skip my weigh-in. I am happy to report that my weight is 160.2 :) I won't hit my goal by the end of the year, but I am hoping to be in the 150's. I too really like the way size 10 feels. Much better than my 18/20.. Keep going and 1/2 pound is still something to be happy about.. I am so proud of you and what you do for all of us.
    Thank you,
    Beechy

  4. How cool that the Avon lady didn't notice you!

Mary, I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time. I'm going to be posting about a book that I picked up at the library. Maybe it will be helpful to you. In the book, the lady talks about how even over the years of gaining weight, she never gave up trying and she believes that that was what ultimately brought success for her. I agree with her. Sometimes things just don't click in our head, but if we continue trying that moment will eventually happen, but it won't if we give up before that moment. Everyone is so different, and the time it takes for that "moment" to happen and come together in your mind will happen sooner or later. Your mind will eventually figure it out though if you give it time to. I wonder if the difference between whether it happens sooner vs. later has to do with actively paying attention to what is/is not working for you vs. just following another program. It's a lifetime change, so it has to work for you, fit your lifestyle, and be a comfortable fit in order to truly make it a way of life. What things are a must in order for you to be able to make it a lifestyle change? She talks about all of this in her book as well.

For me, giving up "comfort" foods is not an option. I've talked about this before. For me, comfort foods are associated with happy memories and good times, not stuffing emotions, and I'm not willing to give that up. But, I have found a way to have those foods in a healthy way that works with the BFC. So, for me, I can do this because it fits me. Not only is the eating plan healthy overall, which is important to me, but I can still have my "happy" foods in a way this is healthy.

Hang in there, you'll get it figured out. Keep posting about your struggles so that you get ongoing support. Just think of us as a Weight Watchers support group. :) Share, share, share. We're here for you, not to judge, but to give support if that's what you need and are asking for. We'll do our best to help you figure out solutions for what your hang-ups are. Mind you, we can only give suggestions because ultimately you know yourself best and will be the one to figure out what will work for you, but at least we can throw out suggestion that you may not have thought of, and you may ultimately find an answer among those suggestions. We can't tell you what the answers for yourself are, the answers are within yourself, but we'll do our best to help you discover those answers.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
