Wednesday of week 42: The Belly Fat Cure

Hi all,

I really am starting to understand how many others feel when doing the Belly Fat Cure. I have been stuck at the same weight for over 3 weeks now. In the past, when this happened, it just kept going down eventually anyways. But for some reason I am really stuck now.

Sometimes - just for a second - I get a feeling like, "I'll just eat more cause I'm not going down anymore anyway". Don't worry I won't. But I understand the feeling. That's what I'm saying. I have read many comments from others feeling this way. I guess this is when some would just quit. NOT ME!!

I'm going to just keep going like I always do. I know, I know this is when they say I should go and exercise. I've got to tell you that I never was that kind of person. Maybe I'm lazy, but I don't want to. I love to go and walk fast every day and I do with my dogs. But that's about it for me.

I know I am usually more upbeat on my posts. But you have to understand that I have no friends really, and this is my way of releasing my feelings. I am feeling a bit sad because, I have been going through some family stuff and I am alone a lot. Hubby works and I don't really have anything to do. It's not as easy as you would think. It's really hard being alone all the time with no purpose or nothing to really wake up for.

Well I am going to turn 52 in January and I guess this might just be my hormones?? HMMM?

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast;
2 eggs scrambled w/ sauted onions and mushrooms, and cheese, and 2 strips of turkey bacon cooked and crumbled in. 6 delicious huge blackberries, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, and coffee, blah, blah, blah
lunch;
tuna w/1 hard boiled egg cut up in, mayo, bacon bits, celery, 1/2 zuchinni cut up in, feta cheese, and about 3 tbsps of lima beans. then I at about 6 small Josephs sugar free cookies.
snack;
super seed w/water
dinner;
spinach salad w/ceasar dressing, salmon and some broccoli w/some butter. then I had some white and chocolate Redi Whip mixed together in a bowl and 2 squares of Lindt 85% dark chocolate.

Even though I think I over ate yesterday, as I look at it - I really didn't.

Well, everyone have a great day! Don't forget to visit all of my friends blogs on the list below.

Thanks for listening. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

  1. Hey Rosalie, hang in there! Always think about how far you've come when your head won't let you forget your scale is moving. You might also be at some plateau, trying just changing one small thing in your daily diet to see if that helps. I know what you mean about being lonely.....we moved to a new state/town at the beginning of summer....kids are in school all day and hubby at work - i spend way too much time alone. you would think i am getting all kinds of things accomplished, but it's just the opposite - i feel disorganized, like i am walking in circles.

  2. Rosalie, It will come off. I remember when I first started you were in the 180's and now look where you are at. So proud of you! I have had the stomach flu this week so I am down but hope I can keep it off as soon as I start eating again. Dont be sad a blue....Maybe you should be a volunteer for some group I know there are many that could use your help and it would help keep you busy so you wouldnt feel so lonely. Keep your head up!

  4. look at my loooooooonng plateau..lol. I'm thinking maybe I''m at the weight my body needs to be at, not sure :) Wish you were into exercise, I'm alone most days (but my husband is home at 4 almost every day), so I go to the gym, I've made friends there, and I take classes. People aske me if I go alone, yup, I always have for things I wanted to do. Do they have dog parks where u live? I also chat with people at those..I always say, there are no strangers to me, they are just friends I haven't met yet. Most of my friends are back to work or getting divorced, which is sad. I told my friend I was firing all of them, cause they're too busy for me now..oh well, too bad for them, cause I'm a great friend :) I hope you have a good day today, thanks for all you do, and for your blog.
    Love ya, Sue Moschino

  5. Like you've said before, if you didn't lose anymore weight you'd be happy with the way you are!! You look great, but i know what you're saying, i'm at a very S L O W weight loss now. Last month i think i only lost 2 lbs. I'm not an exerciser either and i know if i started something it would come off a little faster. I'll bet it's your hormones getting you down, i turned 46 last week and i've already started perimenapaus. My periods are so screwed up now, i dont' know when it's coming, maybe that's why i'm so up and down with the lbs. Hang in there Rosalie, this too shall pass!! BIG HUG!!!!!

    Well, even if you don't lose more weight right now, why eat more food than your body needs, right? I know you won't, it's something that's important for all of us to remember no matter what weight we're at. We should not eat more food than what our body needs. Even if you're not an exercise type of person, if you just did basic exercises such as squats, dips, lunges, etc., that would help increase your metabolism some without having to go to a gym. I hope you feel better soon.

  7. Hugs to you Rosalie!! Don't get discouraged. To me you have done an awesome job. We (all that read you blog) are so proud of your terrific accomplishments. I can't wait til I can reach a goal like you have. I always read in Jorge books that when you hit a plateau you go right back to basics like you were started over again. I am not sure if my advice is much help since I am at the beginning of a "do over" in the BFC cure since I had gone off for sometime. But just vent all you want, and we as blogger friends will be here to help you through your woes. :) ((((Hugs)))))

  8. (((Hugs))) to you friend. I haven't "known" you for very long, but you're so open & honest I feel like your a close friend. I saw on facebook you stepped up your walking distance a bit. It reminded me of my sister-in-law who lost about 60 pounds about 15 years ago & has kept it off. I remember she used to walk 4 miles a day. She doesn't anymore, but she does walk some everyday. I guess what I'm trying to say is I think increasing your exercise a little bit will pay off in the end. Glad we could all be here for you to let off some steam. Will pray for you :).

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
